 "Oh, can you?" Mikaeus couldn't help but smile as he tried to imagine his little goat friend soaring through the air. "Well, its wonderful you have that kind of imagination, Little Brother."
His expression sobered a little when he probed a bit further into his lack of sight. "No, not even at night," he said, his tone more serious but not unfriendly or like he was fishing for sympathy. "That is what makes you so special." Special indeed, his smile was back at a moment's notice when Powder began to ramble on about holes full of goats. Sometimes Mikaeus was jealous of the sheer depth of his imagination. Laikaylah continued to watch on, impressed with how fatherly (Big brother-ly?) her blind son was being. He was patient and kind; while still being honest and straightforward. He was going to make an exceptional father one day!!
That thought sent a swell through her chest as she imagined grandchildren in her future. With a wistful sigh she learned against Glacier, her eyes filling with stars. "Whats on your mind, Love?" Glacier asked quietly, noticing the heavy sigh and drunk-like smile she seemed to have on her face. He let his lips curl into a smile as he nudged her, teasingly. Believe or not, he was fairly certain he knew exactly what she was thinking; as the thought had crossed his mind as well. But he gave her a knowing smile and a twinkle in his eye as he teased her regardless.

"Yup yup yup yup yup!" Powder whinnied playfully, picturing flying goats and goat holes.
His ears canted forward as his brother continued talking, though. He was playful, imaginative and sometimes just plain odd, but he knew that it wasn't nice to talk when other soquili were talking. His momma and pappa taught him that.
"Then how do you know what things look like? How do you see them in your head? And, and, and - why do I smell two goats? Who's Denny's friend? Is this a goat for meeee?

"For you?" Mikaeus asked with a faux tone of incredulity. His smile grew wider, however, and if his blind fold hadn't been over his eyes, he threw in a wink for good measure. "Tell me, Little Brother," what do you think of that? A Seeing Eye Goat of your very own!"
He looked to Denny and gave his nod, signaling that she could bring the other goat over so they could introduce themselves. "You know, its not just all fun and games," he said, trying his best to make his tone sound more serious. "Taking care of a goat is a big responsibility. While they will help you, you have to make sure that you give it plenty of love and attention and care. Its not a pet, its a companion," he said with his fake sterness in his voice. But regardless, the excitement brewing was hard to ignore. "Oh you know well and good what I'm thinking," Laikaylah said with a smile, and a blush flooding over her ears and nose. He did always seem to know; it was like they were always on the same wavelength. She nudged him teasingly and lowered her voice, not wanting to interrupt the moment going on between her two sons. She was watching intently, but her nose against his ear, loving the way it made his fur stand on end.
"But look at him," she continued. "It comes so natural to him. Don't you think he'll be an amazing father?" she asked, her eyes will twinkling. "I know I shouldn't push him. That I need to be patient but I just can't help but wonder when he'll have some of his own?"
Her expression darkened, just a moment. An unbidden thought that was always on the back of her mind, and it always made her feel a touch guilty. "You don't think his... you know," she hated to word 'disability' but she didn't need to say it, she knew he knew, "keeps him from the mares, do you?""Of course I know what you're thinking," he teased back, using his opportunity to take the time to fuss and play with her thick, shiny black hair. They were always on the same wavelength, knowing each other so well. But when Laikaylah out her soft muzzle to his ear, he shivered and all his blue and white fur stood on end. He, too, lowered his voice as not to interrupt the scene playing out between Powder and Mikaues and the two little goats. He watched, but spoke softly to his mate. "Of course not," he reassured her. "Don't even think that. Just look at him, you wouldn't even know he was..." he hesitated, never liking the taste of the words in his mouth. But there was no reason; he wasn't ashamed of his son, so why be ashamed of the words? "Blind." He breathed. "He's so full of life and exuberance. He's just young. Not all Soquili find their one true love as early in their lives as he did," he assured her, giving her an affectionate nuzzle.

"For me! For me for me!" Powder whinnied, brimming with excitement. "What kind of goat is it? Is it a girl goat or a boy goat? Does it have a name? Ooohhhhh, Mikey - can I give it a name? Can I give it ANY name???" Powder could barely contain his words.
"But yes yes yes - I want one. A friend, we can help each other. And I promise - I promise I'll take care of it. But... there will be fun and games, too. There has to be fun and games. Does it like games? I hope it likes games!"
Powder's litle tail was twitching and wriggling a mile a minute.
"But... uh... Mikey, uh... just what DO I have to do to take care of it? He's a smart goat, right? Like Denny? Will it see the pictures that I see? And... uh.. uh...." He stuttered, trying to think of what other questions he needed to ask before getting this Very Important seeing eye goat. "When did you get your goat, Mikey? Were you little like me?"

Mikaeus couldn't but smile with the litany of questions from his excitable younger brother. "It's a girl goat," he said with a smile and a nod. "And yes, of course, you can name her anything but it would be very polite of you ask her if she likes it before you settle on something.
He looked over to the pretty pink and purple companion. "Denny tells me she's quite beautiful and colorful. And as far as taking care of her, you have to be kind and patient; she probably cannot see all the pictures that you do, but I'm sure she would love to hear about them."
He nodded to Denny and the newcomer, inviting them to come closer so she could introduce herself. "And yes, Denny came to me when I was little like you. It was one of the best days I can remember!"

Powder's little fuzzy, cottony colt tail didn't stop wriggling as Mikaeus spoke, and he could barely keep himself from prancing about in place some more as he listened.
"Is that how you got so smart, Mikey? Havin' a goat?" He whickered as if this were the funniest joke. "Do you think she'll help me grow up to be smart and brave like you?"
He nosed about, looking blearily at the blinding whitness - he could see the big blurry purpley shape that was Mikey, and then he could make out two smaller shapes. One of them smelled like Denny. The other one smelled kind of like Denny but not Denny and Powder squealed happily.
"Are you her? Are you my new goat friend?"
She was a little goat still, but curious as friendly as she boldly walked over to the little colt and wriggled her tail back. "Denny says that I can help you out! That we'd be good friends. It's nice to meet you, Powd
Powder gasped happily and walked right over to her and rubbed his velvety nose against her - he had been hoping it would be her nose, but it was closer to her shoulder. Still, the goat didn't seem to mind.
"It's so good to meet you! Oh boy! But you definitely need a name!" He looked back up over to the sun, its light dazzling him and blinding him wiht beautiful colors and pictures.
He stuck out his tongue in concentration, waiting for the right sign.

Mikaeus couldn't help but laugh at his excitement. "You think I'm smart, huh?" he teased. "I certainly think Denny would like to take credit for that, either way!" He nuzzled his little brother. "But yes, Denny helped me in all kinds of ways. She allowed me to get brave and wander a little further form home - just so I knew I always had someone with me to lead me back, in case I got lost."
He stepped back for a little bit to watch Powder and the new young goat interact. So far so good, and his chest swelled with pride at how well the meeting was going so far.

"Of course you're smart, Mikey!" Powder said a little softly as he turned his attention skyward.
Powder sungazed, his smile bright as he squinted and watched as words seemed to roll around together and finally string together in his mind's eye and ear.
"Kapra... Kapri.... innie.... Kaprinnie! That's your name! That's your name! Did I guess it right? That's what it says it is!"
Powder turnd towards the goaty blur and wriggled his tail expectantly.
The goat smiled sweetly. "Kaprinnie?" She said, trying the word out - how it sounded and felt on her tongue before smiling broadly and giving Powder a nuzzle - something physical he could feel since Denny had told her a bit about how important the job of a seeing eye goat was. "I think that that is a fine name!" She bleated happily.
