Salem stalked after Trent with vicious intent in his eyes, knowing that he'd need to put pressure on his opponent to keep him at bay. While the rookie crawled away to safety, Salem would drop down atop his back - using his own weight as leverage while reaching around the head to try and clamp on a crossface, hoping to wrench Trent's chin and neck in painful fashion!

Trent was placed in the crossface as already he showed signs of fear that he was losing consciousness. He had gone through a lot to get to the spot he is at. Facing the biggest names and still making it to the top. Trent would attempt to keep rocking back and forth until he could bridge Salem and leave the crossface.

Trent was trying hard to roll out of the Crossface, but Salem's weight bearing down on his lower back made turning shoulder-over-shoulder that much harder for the young superstar, Croft leaning back as he twisted to wrench the rookie's neck even harder. Nonetheless, the crowd would be somewhat disappointed as Trent managed to get onto his back, a move Salem took advantage of by shifting perpendicular to his opponent so he could hook a leg and go for a quick cover!

Trent would kick out at a close two count as he had more life in him, the only problem was he was getting exhausted fast and he looked to throw Salem off him and get to his vertical base fast.

Salem was bounced off Trent as the latter kicked out from the cover attempt, leaving Croft to land on his fours with a look of subtle frustration in his eyes at having been denied a quick pinfall. Still, Trent was starting to prove slower to get back onto his feet, something Salem looked to take advantage of as he waited, stalking his adversary for the opportune time to pounce. And pounce he would as Trent went to stand back up, looking to plant him back down onto the mat with his own weight as Salem leaped forward for a Lou Thesz Press, aiming to drop some hammerfists onto the young man should he manage to succeed!

Trent would have been caught if he weren't watching himself carefully. He saw the man pounce as he attempted to land an extended kick into the gut of Salem to make him double over. If he were able to make contact and Salem didn't jump at the time he was extending the leg.

Though Salem was trying to catch Trent off-guard, it was instead the other way around - a well-timed boot stopping Salem in his tracks like a big rig truck that hit Croft in mid-air! Eyes bulging from the impact, Salem barely managed to get his feet on the mat before he'd have fallen over, staggering forward past Trent and towards the ropes behind him! Leaning against them, Salem struggled to keep his balance with one hand on the ropes while cradling his gut with the other, coughing to regain his breath!

Trent seemed to just get a big boost in momentum as he would now rush Salem. Going right in front of him while he was doubled over. He would place the head of Salem right in between his pit and his arm and attempt to snap his whole upper body (especially his skull) right on the mat for a snap ddt.

Salem was unable to react by the time Trent was grabbing hold of him, leaving the M.W. Deuce helpless to avoid being dragged down onto his face by the weight and leverage of the bigger man! With a heavy thud, Salem was planted on his head into the canvas, momentarily stunned by the debilitating DDT, one of Salem's most used moves!

Trent had nailed the ddt and taken down the two thousand-thirteen rookie of the year. He would than look to crawl to the ropes and get to his feet, not trying to let his momentum go to waste as the crowd were behind both competitors.

While Trent was looking to get back on track towards winning this match, Salem was gripping his temples and writhing across the canvas, struggling to shake loose the aching throb that was battering his brain with every beat of his own heart. Salem knew his DDT's well, but that didn't stop them from hurting him when his face was put into something solid like the ring mat. But hey, at least it wasn't a steel chair, right? The M.W. Deuce took little solace in that knowledge as he attempted to sit up, trying to regain his senses and push himself back up to his feet with one hand before Trent managed something really nasty.

Trent would have gotten to his feet but something happened with his leg on the trip back up to his feet. As he would stumble to the ropes exactly opposite of Salem. However he would catch himself before he fell back down. Trent than began to stalk down his competitor Salem until he fully got to his feet as he believed he had an idea.

Salem's forehead was throbbing, pulsing with the tenderness that came with having done a faceplant into the canvas courtesy of Trent's DDT, but that was a move Salem knew quite well, himself. Though it didn't help him resist the pain, his familiarity with the move meant it'd take more than just a lucky break for Trent to take down "Wrestling's Most Wanted Man". After sitting up, Salem managed to stutter and shuffle on his feet as he stood back to a vertical base and attempted regaining his balance.

Trent who presided opposite of the ring from Salem, would have stared him down. He would regain most feeling back in his legs as he was ready to take a chance. He charged at Salem and attempted to take him down and outside the ring with a big body splash against the ropes, he picked this move as it would deal a great amount of damage no matter the landing, however the repercussion was that he would suffer a hard fall also but Trent was willing to risk a bit of his edge in order to take away from Salem's.

Salem was trying to catch his breath, able to catch a glimpse of Trent across the ring with ill-intent in the rookie's eyes. While the added distance provided room for gathering more steam, it also gave the M.W. Deuce time to collect his senses in the presence of what was so clearly telegraphed, you could almost hear the announcers calling for what Trent did next before his first steps across the ring could even be taken. But timing and ring presence would be something he'd soon learn something about, as Salem caught Trent across his shoulders as the lad went sideways for his crossbody attempt! Having still been hunched over, the reversal was almost instinctual, Salem utilizing a burst of strength to straighten up and heave Trent over the ropes and towards the floor with his own running momentum!
