If Ganyma could see (or read Luxara's very obvious intentions), he might warn her to stay well away from the lusus. He himself was tangled right up in it where she wanted to be, though if it was any consolation he was struggling quite a bit. It certainly didn't make riding the lusus like a rodeo bull any more glamorous.
Taking the opportunity to get a few more blows on the lusus, Ganyma made sure he was well out of the way of its thrashing horns and the cords arcing dangerously from its head. "Aah!"
The troll grabbed onto something to keep himself from falling off of the creature. It was Luxara's net - a stoke of luck! He disconnected it from the lusus as he fell lightly to the sand, and fortunately it was still in tact. The lusus began charging off again, leaving Didero's net behind in the sand.
"Well, at least now we know where it's going!" He said, breathing heavily from the encounter. "You kids up for another stretch before we take a rest? No use hanging out here."
Ganyma idly stretched his arms above his head, brimming with satisfaction but beginning to wane on energy. It had been a long night. The time seemed to pass so fast!

"Oh man, we were so close!" She kept trying to run after the big angry lusus, but she only got as far as the length of her coat, as Stagdad was holding her back again. It took a couple of trips onto her belly for her to realize they weren't going to go after it. It was getting too far too quick, and Stagdad wasn't letting up. Luxara brushed herself off with a sigh. She made sure to retrieve her net, of course. "Moving at all's better than stopping, at this rate." she decided, trying not to pant too hard. Then, under her breath, "So close..."
At least Didero was pretty useful after all despite initially looking like a pansy. Would've been neat if he used that pen a little more stabbily...
Luxara took a moment to replay everything in her head, and when she looked at Ganyma again, her pupils practically dilated. "Youuuu were so AWESOME! I WANNA WRESTLE LUSII TOO HOW DO YOU -DO- THAT?!"

"Don't worry, Luxara. We'll find it again, I'm sure." Ganyma smiled. He was taken aback by her amazement. Ganyma scratched his head, a slight flush from his effort fighting the lusus (and the compliment, of course), passing across his cheeks. "I've been trainin' most of my life as a wrestler. When I was a little older than you I ended up having to use wrestlin' to keep out of trouble and fight for myself."
Ganyma looked to stagdad apologetically. "Not that I'm suggestin' to do that of course, er... I kinda had to." He tried his best to tamp the girl's enthusiasm by distracting her. "Maybe if we get moving we can run into it again and you can see more of those moves? Didero, can, uh, take notes," He offered. Something for everyone, he guessed.
Ganyma's eyes widened. "And, you may get your chance! Watch out, kids, it's comin' back around!" The troll put himself in front of the children as he saw a familiar dustcloud formed in the distance. Sure enough, the lusus had turned straight around and was heading straight towards the trio.

Ganyma was barely able to get back into position before the lusus barreled through. He certainly wasn't expecting to find the lusus by not moving at all, and being blindsided didn't particularly help his fighting form. He managed to place a couple of hits on the lusus's belly as it passed, and struggled to keep up with the sand under foot.
"Uh, nets!" he exclaimed. "Nets now!!"

[ Didero perked up as he recollected his net from the ground, having overheard Ganyma talking to Luxara. "Yeah! That would be really cool! That was really cool!" He chirped. He seemed to have bounced back from nearly being run down pretty quickly.
Unfortunately for Didero, before he'd gotten a chance to pull his notepad out of his pocket properly, the lusus was already returning from over the dunes. Less startled than before, Didero ran into position with his net.
"I got it! I got it!" Didero shouted. The sooner he got this net over the lusus, the sooner he'd be able to retrieve his note-taking materials. ]

"Hup!" Ganyma grunted with effort as he surged at the lusus. It wasn't getting away so easy!
Now that was a little better. Ganyma caught hold of a hoof and used a nasty old trick -- desperate times, after all. He bit down into its leg, taking care to avoid its long tail. He quickly had to retreat around to the tail's base to avoid whiplash, but he'd still bought time and had confused the lusus enough to land another hit...

"OH MAN YOU -BIT- IT!" Luxara couldn't help but yell in amazement as she used the time it was stunned to assist with her net. If it wasn't such a big and cumbersome lusus, she would be the biggest distraction by firing her mouth off at just how COOL that was.
Fortunately, she was too busy being helpful instead of too over-enthusiastic. For now. She was very obviously into the action, at least with how wide her grin pulled her mouth. You just knew there was no way she'd shut her trap after this little encounter was over.

Ganyma grimaced and yelled back over the lusus. "Yeah, I wouldn't recommend that--" he hopped out of the way of the tail, and finally ejected the push blades in his gloves. "In normal situations!"
Ganyma socked the creature right and left, directly on its flank. He was getting tired after two encounters in a row, so perhaps it was best that it ran away for now. The troll collected the kids' nets for them and took a seat in the sand.
"I'll be ready again in just a minute," he breathed, pushing his blades back into place. Ganyma gave both of them a thumbs up.

REFRESHING REST POST
Everyone in your group is well rested. Your group recovers three stamina, to a maximum of five! Your group recovers 13 hp, if you were previously at zero!
Not weeks after Bloodfest, a familiar snowfall begins to accumulate on the ground, and then rapidly accelerates into a snowstorm. Between the snow, sand and a rapidly changing WACKY sky, it’s nearly impossible to keep track of up and down, let alone a white lusus in a snowstorm. This weather effect will remain in play until a 1, 3, or 5 are rolled on a D6.

The group decides to take refuge in a cave far in the distance. Taking the trip was well worth it, and even though you’ve lost some time in the night, the cool air is really quite refreshing. The group can choose to spend some time bonding in the cave. Hanging out in the cave for 3 posts will result in everyone in the group regaining 1 stamina!
Uh oh. The ground rumbles suddenly. Not again! Sure enough, after a moment the rough shaking of the ground resumes with surprising force. It’s an earthquake! This weather effect will remain in play until a 2, 3, 4, or 5 are rolled on a D6.

You find a peculiar desert creature snuffling around in the sand! The poor little guy seems pretty bewildered by all of this weather stuff, so you decide to give it a warm pocket to cling onto. Your group has adopted the multi-limbed gerbil! After the meta, each member of the group can bring their own special friend home.
Something glinting over a bluff catches your eye. A burrow in the side of the dune yields a bounty of shining golden beetles! And as they say, lucky beetles mean good fortune (and megabux$$$). Each member of the group has acquired 1 lucky beetle that can be redeemed at the end of the meta for a variety of rewards. You cannot carry any more than 5 lucky beetles total; if you run into this encounter more than 5 times, you cannot collect any more.

Out of the storm emerges a very disgruntled wet bedraggled desert sandcrawlinglizardbeast! It has no intention of humoring more desert interlopers. Or maybe it's gotten confused and thinks its a tornado. The sandcrawlinglizardbeast has 10 HP. The group takes 3 damage each post it hasn't been defeated yet.
What’s this? A piece of the WACKY? A part of a ship? A discarded Greasy-Bake Condescension Oven? Whatever it is, it’s pretty beaten up, but the tech looks significant. You decide to pick it up just in case. Your group has acquired a pile of charred technology! Each troll in the group gets one, and is recommended to hang onto it, you never know what it will be useful for.... You cannot carry more than one charred technology.

The feeling of another oncoming WACKY weather system prickles your skin. With a feeling of dread, you brace yourself for the effects of… A soothing, balmy breeze. Aaah… This weather effect will remain in play until the next dice are rolled.
Plop. Plop. Something drops from the sky, landing over the hill. Another flops into the sand nearby, making an unpleasant squelching noise. Plop—splat. At your feet, the grey, gooey eye of a fish stares back up at you. Plop. A mackerel. Plop-plop. A few sardines. Plop plop plop plopplopploploplopopop—FISH RAIN! This weather effect will remain in play until another weather effect is rolled. Players may roll 2d4 for their regular item, location and lusus encounters, but will be plagued with a constant fishy invasion until then.

"Hey now, I know we just took a rest but let's not eat that Hoof just now. Or, er... At all," Ganyma said preemptively. This girl was a handful. He didn't have the foresight to gauge any of her actions, so his response was just to go with the flow -- seemed like a good plan! Just keep charging forward.
The group rested up. Ganyma made sure that Didero had enough time to write down whatever he needed before they moved on: "Honing skills and training is important to being the best!" And, having his exploits chronicled was something Ganyma hadn't thought of before... It was kind of romantic, actually!
As Ganyma packed to keep trekking through the desert, he smiled at Didero. "I expect a copy of whatever you're writin' there, buddy. So long as it's not in fancy calligr-- fancy cursive. I can't read that stuff!"
Ganyma nearly stubbed his toe on something underfoot. "Ack! Uh, hey, what's this? This looks like some of the WACKY!"
To be honest, Ganyma had no idea. But it would be a waste to leave it in the desert.

As the others chatted, Luxara just kind of looked off into the distance, tuning them out for a bit while she contemplated. They were all going the same direction, as far as she could tell. So why did the lusus keep running towards them? Their patterns were so painfully predictable that they should be easy to avoid at this rate! Something sure must be giving it a hard time...probably other groups. Well, whoever THEY, THEY wouldn't be the ones to beat it down, THAT was for sure.
Luxara was also partially pouting after being told not to eat her snack. What was he, her lusus? This guy obviously didn't understand forest living. Neither of them did. All this writing and junk... She did try to get some attention herself, but they were just so INTO it that no one seemed to hear her. Not that she wasn't easily enraptured by what Ganyma said, but... She was cool, too, darnit! "I LIVE IN A TREE AND GET SHOT AT A LOT. I KNOW A LOT ABOUT TRACKING AND AVOIDING DEATH IN CASE ANYONE WANTS TO KNOW." Well...points for trying.
But it seemed like whatever Ganyma found would hold his attention more than her quick babbling.

[ Didero was pleased as punch with the notes he'd taken thus far. Hopefully they'd make sense when read back later. The pages were mostly filled with detailed descriptions of Ganyma's various fighting stances, eventually degrading into childish pictures when Didero ran out of adjectives.
He flipped once more through his notepad before closing it and returning it to his back pocket. He looked up between Ganyma and Luxara.
"Um, that's cool," Didero said to Luxara. It was pretty darn cool, but Didero was too thrown by the sudden exclamation to appear properly enthused.
"So, uh... what's that like?" Didero asked with a blink. That was the next logical thing to say, right? ]

Ganyma moved on, scouting ahead but keeping an eye on the kids. Fortunately the technology fit right into his good ol' trusty adventure bag. He smiled as he fit it into the big pocket. Rasali would be having a ball chasing down this lusus. Maybe she stayed in the nice, temperate locale of Four Fronds for this one -- he couldn't get a hold of her in time, so that was probably it.
Speaking of which... Ganyma sighed into a warm whoosh of air that passed by his face. He sure could use a vacation from this vacation. Maybe after all of this he'd head to Four Fronds and enjoy the balmy hot springs with Rasali. Ganyma was lost in thought. Hopefully the kids weren't running off or anything.

[ The warm breeze was nice. A little too nice, maybe. It made Didero want to take a nap. He yawned and stretched his arms over his head as he walked. When he opened his eyes, he noticed a cave tucked into the sand dunes. Neat!
"Hey, a cave! Think the lusus may have gone in there?"
A valid thought. Of course, if the party decided to check it out and found nothing, it would be a very convenient napping place, yes indeed. Didero beamed at the other two group members. ]
