Mairin raised a hand and laughed quietly behind it, she liked the fight in this little green. The hatchling might not really be willing to take on the elements but she was sort of trying and that counted for something. The young woman herself quite enjoyed the rain even if it made her clothes and braid heavy. It would have been nicer if it had been a light shower like a fine sea spray but Mairin had yet to meet a form of water she didn't care for. Even the roughest seas and fiercest storms had their beauty.

A quiet laugh escaped Saenshu as he watched the green challenge the sky, admiring her gusto; she was a feisty one. He had never been to a hatching before so his expectations were somewhat nonexistent, but it had already proven to be entertaining. Shifting his weight in the muddy sand, he suddenly became aware of how uncomfortable he and the rest of the candidates were, his sandals clinging to his feet with gritty wet sand sticking in between his toes.
Actually, he liked it. It reminded him of being on the sea side, working with his father. He did feel bad as he glanced over at the female candidates and noticed several of them shivering. What a day to have a hatching.

With the Wicked Green hiding behind the gold egg, it started to shake. Not with as much eagerness as the green had, no: this egg seemed to feel it had all the time in the world. It rolled onto its side, exposing the green behind it. The green gave a hiss, whacking at the egg with her tail before diving behind the Pale Egg.

Jemi gave a soft amused chuckle as the green hide and then the large golden egg shifted revealing the hatching to the world and the rain. "Little thing can't get a break, can she." She replied to Paige and blinked rain from her lashes. "Nasty weather though."
She eye the Golden egg and then the Pale egg, the green's brand new hiding spot. Well, how many eggs was the little lady going to go through before impressing?

Fiolen's hair pricked on the back of his neck at the screech of the irate green. She was angry, ANGRY! Very much the essence of what he'd felt when he'd touched her shell. He understood that young dragons were dangerous, and that mauling happened.. but it would be worth it. Had to be worth it.
The clap of thunder caused his body to shudder, a natural fear of dangerous weather conditions causing him to be all the more sensitive to what was going on. His robe clung to his body, and he realized dazedly that it was a similar fad amongst the rest of them, soaked right down to their breechcloths. He idly pushed away a strand of hair he'd realized was stuck to his cheek and stared onward as the green challenged the sky with her irate screams.
Surely she will be just as furious toward thread.
-----
It would be then that two girls burst into the hatching, soaked to the bone and clinging to each other's hands as if it was their final lifeline. Bleached blonde and ruddy red hair clung to their frames.
"Anri." Elsi breathed, sucking in air as much because of how they'd ran as because she was in awe. "The eggs, they're hatching-- we have to bow!"
She swung herself downward, almost forgetting being mindful of protocol and practically dragging her sister down with her, nearly pulling her into the sand.
"Sorry!" She quickly pulled her sister upright, her grip still strong. "Anri." She searched for her sister's eyes. "Together?"

Look at her playing in the rain and hide and seek in the eggs, she needs friends but they won't hatch. Lypith was loving this, so much excitement despite the rain and soon so many more friends. The excitable green peered down at the sands and the little green currently upon them. Why she could just swoop down there and extend a wing to shield her from the worst of the rain.
Hyweth wouldn't appreciate that. Alara cautioned. Lypith might actually dare to descent onto the sands and no matter how nice she was normally no Gold was going to tolerate that. We'll play with them later She too wanted to meet the hatchlings and have a little fun with them but now was not quite the time.

Naressa had nervously trying to drink some klah when the sounds of the dragons humming stole her attention away. It was time. She quickly gulped down the rest of the food and she walked quickly towards the grounds. As she stepped outside the cool rains danced across her skin and she and the sound of thunder made her smile. She approached the grounds and gave the queen dragon a bow and she took her place on the sands with the other candidates. She spotted Fiolen and moved over towards him since he was the only one she had actually gotten the chance to meet. Even despite his oddities, he had a good heart. "Look!" She looked on as the wicked egg was the first to hatch and a green head poked it's head through challenging the sky. She couldn't help but smile as she recalled how the egg had been when she had touched it and she still needed to find that girl. It would come in time, right now the hatching took priority. She watched as the green darted behind the gold egg and hissed when it fell over and she wondered why she was so animate about hiding. She was curious to see what other dragonets hid within the colorful eggs. This green definitely was a handful and would surely be a great fighter.

The pale egg began to twitch, and the green behind it bugled. Ugh! Uncooperative hiding places! Quit moving! She gave a hiss before making her way over to the candidates. She marched in front of them, eyes, a deep red. One of them had caused this, hadn't they? Hadn't they?! And they were here to harass her again!
She set eyes on Paige and gave a bugle. Ugh. Pathetic. All of these!

Wen gave a soft sound of amusement, looking out at the hatching and then the pale egg. Would the hatching set off all the eggs in her quest to find a dry spot? No, it looked like she was moving to the candidates, at last. And not all that happily. He looked at Jemi and signed something to his partner and was relieved as she signed back.
Not that he though she would miss a green hatching coming near her and Paige, but he wanted his partner to be prepared.

Oh, the gold egg moved? He couldn't resist the urge to look over at the cluster of girls, wondering how their hearts must race at the thought of impressing a Gold. Of course it was something he would never understand, but it was interesting how just the movement of the egg would most likely stir the hearts of many of them.
The feisty green was still at it, and had actively moved from one hiding place to another, having quite the trouble. It was curious how her siblings really didn't want to help her hide -- oh, now she was coming at the candidates? Shards, he wasn't quite sure how this would go, and wondered just how angry this little one could get. Staying calm was a strong suit of his, however, and he looked on intently; hopefully the green would find hers.

Dianno
Dianno watched the green hiss at the rain and gave a slight frown. Well, a slightly lesser frown than the one he's previously been wearing. The rain wasn't that bad? Yes it sucked, but at least they were covered and weren't getting more drenched than they already were and hey, she hadn't even been drenched in the first place! He stood there clammy and gross in his robes and she was dry. She should be happy about that.
Unless she was scared of the storm outside at which point he felt she really ought to toughen up. From what he'd seen of Ista in his short time here this was a drizzle.
Paige
Paige nodded. "Yeaah... it's gross out there." Sure, she'd seen worse, but that didn't mean she liked it any less. Maybe she had that in common with the wicked green... but still. Paige couldn't help but shrink back as the hatchling stalked it's way towards the candidates. She'd outrun angry hatchlings before... and also failed that same challenge. She really hoped not to have to do so again but any sign of violence from the green and Paige would be gone. The bugle made her flinch towards Jemi. It wasn't quite... but Paige was on her toes none the less.

Jemi signed back to Wen and looked down at Paige. "It be fine," she said to Paige, setting on her toes and hands slightly up prepared to lift the other girl up and over if needed. She worked out. And the less blood on the sand to get the other hatchings worked up about the better.

She watched as the green stalked towards Jemi and Paige and bugled. She sure was a live wire. She turned her gaze towards the other eggs and she couldn't help but admire them as the rain covered their shells. What other beauties would be joining them she wondered. This was so exciting and she was curious to see who all would impress.

The gold egg wiggled, and rolled closer to the candidates. The egg shattered, revealing a beautiful gold dragonet. Though still covered in egg goo, the gold, u bothered by the rain, made her way to the female candidates. She stood for a moment, studying each, before realizing she was sinking in the sands. The gold, once regal, began to panic, jumping out of the sands and racing to Paige.
There was another dragon already, there, however. The gold gave a sound of disbelief. Didn't Wicked have places to be?

"I see!" Fiolen pealed, his bright eyes turning to the interesting female he'd spoken with in the kitchens that one fateful day. What an interesting person, she was! And she saw fit to stand next to him, sharing in the joy and anxiety that came with the situation. He threw a brilliant smile her way. Even though he was an outright mess, he looked delighted to be there. Honored, even.
