[[ Melanie -> Food Tables || Pasha, Revontulet, Others ]]
"Oh, thank you kindly. It's a family dish called Pineapple Salad. Was always a childhood favorite of mine." the woman responded to with a grand smile.
Both of their attention turned to the other Raevan who entered. Then others began to arrive as well. It really was turning into quite the party already, and it was still quite early.
"No, I haven't. This is my first time at this sort of function and you're the first I've ever met. But I'm already completely interested in your origin. How did you...come to be?" Melanie asked the muse. This was generally her first question for the report. She would hope to gather more information as the night went on.
Melanie just stood there, constantly turning her attention to the others who came in, smiling just in case any had wanted to meet with her.

[[Revontulet > Meli and Tati]]
Only a moment had been taken to stare at the games sign up before a comment had her lifting her head, a puzzled expression upon her face.
Revontulet had not recognized any faces upon her entry, and thus had kept her head down somewhat in response. It was not that she was the reserved type or that the others hadn't seemed friendly, just that they were already in conversation and the young frei had been often, and thoroughly, instructed against interruptions.
Meli's words had hit her ears however and she'd taken them to have been directed her way. A warm smile brightened the confusion from her features, "Thank you!" she replied, moving towards the blossomed-sigel with a little flick of her wings which stilled upon the sound of her name on an unfamiliar voice.
The sigel hadn't said it, for she'd turned her attentions to Cesc and Shepard, and the other woman was talking about pineapple salad, so who had called out her name?
"That's me," Ren said, lifting her hand somewhat as she'd learned to do so often in Doucette's classes. Feeling a bit like she were on a carousel, the aurora turned once more, eyes widening at the sight of the new raevan.

((Cesc and Shepard --> Melisande and Melanie))
"How did you come to be?" Shepard countered as he approached the two women, lifting an eyebrow at the human as he peered down at Melanie. "Let's hear the story. Little awkward, don't you think?"
Cesc, bringing up the rear as hung back momentarily, touched Revontulet lightly on the arm in greeting before nodding back toward Tatiana, whom he did not recognize but clearly desired the frei's attention. He floated forward with a genial smile, his arms full with two fresh baguettes, the warmth still emanating from them.
"A little mix of magic and time, I would say," he said with a laugh, attempting to diffuse the situation. He leaned forward to touch Pasha on the back, always respectful of initiating physical contact with others. "Melisande, you look lovely. And Miss, we have not met, but I am Rhedefre -- you can call me Cesc. This is Shepard Ryan. Pasha, I don't believe you've met, either?"
Shepard nodded, his handsome, stone-featured face relaxing enough allowing a faint grin as he turned toward Melisande. He put out a hand. "Hi."

Pasha was stunned for a moment, lips parting in surprise. Her…origin? How she came to be? She was a person, not a-
Even as her cheeks pinked, Shepard interrupted. Melisande lowered her eyes gratefully for a moment, obviously a little embarrassed. She turned a smile to Cesc, who was diplomatic as always. "It's good to see you." The words seemed a little weighted. She moved in to leave a kiss in the air beside the Stag's cheek, breath warm in the slightly crisp air.
The Muse pulled back in time for her introduction to Shep. "A pleasure." She murmured, taking his hand with both of hers for a moment. Her touch was gentle, but not weak. "This is Melanie." The Sigel introduced the other human gracefully, though they had just met.
"Cesc, there's room here?" She motioned to the table, sliding her strawberries to make room for his baguettes. They smelled wonderful, and instantly transported her to the bakery. Her wings were relaxing again, feathers spreading in the sun.

[[ Melanie > Melisande, Cesc, and Shepard ]]
Melanie's eyes widened with the man's response as she turned to see it's origin. She hadn't realized that it was an offensive question, but upon realization, her cheeks flushed red and a nervous smile crept upon her face; but anger also built up. She would normally never let a man talk to her that way, but she held her tongue for the time being. She clenched her left hand into a fist and crossed her right arm to grasp her bicep.
Then the other Raevan spoke, holding what seemed to be delicious baguettes. She could smell the aroma and she felt her stomach ache in want. At least he had been nice enough to answer the question after this human, introduced as Shepard Ryan, was rude enough to speak the way he did to her.
The embarrassed woman continued to smile and lifted a hand towards the table. "It's nice to meet you, Cesc...Shepard." she said in a nervous, yet happy tone, nodding at Cesc, and then cutting off with a very uninterested tone as she stated the humans name and even rolled her eyes at the end as she looked towards the table filled with delicious food.

(( Duncan → food tables/this gigantic group, Mordekai → cafeteria/kitchen, window ))
As with many things, certain aspects of the preparation were running late. Still, the Raevan baskets were set out to collect, and people were filing in, but boiling over 100 pounds of crawfish to Durem and shucking the corn and potatoes to go along with it was hell on earth. As people began filing into the event, however, the older gentleman grabbed a few pamphlets from the cafeteria table out front and made his way toward the small group.
“Hello, everyone,” Duncan called out, while extending the pile of pamphlets out for those who were willing to grab them, “As it stands, we're still preparing the crawfish, but I see the buffet table was simple enough to find. If you could, please take these pamphlets, they're some guidelines to feed our Raevan guests. There are also name tags for anyone who'd like them, and markers are over at the end of the Raevan table over there.”
A tanned blond poked his head out of the Lab cafeteria at the scenery, and waved toward the crowd. “Hey, y'all! Someone big an' strong wanna help me wit' this second vat of crawfish?”

((Tati -> Revontulet || Harrison Camille -> Arriving -> Mordekai ))
Tatiana gave a large smile and extended her wings along with her arms. She swayed a bit and waved before realizing the action was showy and might get too much attention, she immediately clamped her arms to her sides and her wings folded tight. The hamsa gave a gentle smile and then suddenly her nerves began to start. Whoops. What an entrance. Her face flushed and she moved to the older raevan in what she attempted to be a straight line. Due to the nature of her essence, the newborn Frei had a large problem focusing her center. Her pattern of movement was obnoxiously zig zaggy. Almost like a drunk.
"Revontulet?" The hamsa soul asked as she stutter floated to Revon, red dipped hands gripping the other girls arm and she released a large warm smile, "My name is Tatiana, Harrison Troxel's... uhm. Ward?"
Speak of the devil, both Harrison and Camille made their entrance, bickering about Troxel's new lifestyle. He's never seen the pilot so whipped before. Harrison on the other hand was blatantly limping over to the food table, a dead look in his eyes. Upon the call for help however, Harrison perked up. He was definitely big and strong.
"'Ey Mordie!" Camille called with a large grin, waving a hand and pointing to Harrison, "Someone biggin' strong? I brough' Trox here- yenno the pilo'?"

((Cesc --> food tables; Shep --> Mordekai))
Shepard returned the woman's eyeroll with a mild shrug, unaffected. He grinned back toward Melisande and Cesc as he did so. People who made social gaffes, he thought, were always quick to try to pin their own rudeness, accidental or not, onto whomever called them out.
"I gotcha," he called toward Mordekai as the man poked his head out, walking toward the window. It was good to leave Melanie with more genial company, and to take any lingering awkwardness with himself. He went to the cafeteria, holding out his arms. "Whatever y'need, mate."
"Nice to meet you, too," said Cesc, floating to put his baguettes on the table, where Melisande had pointed out, arranging them as best he could. To the frei, there was no call for awkwardness or discomfort. He smiled at Melanie without any tenseness, and his words rang earnest and friendly. "I see that you are new -- are you a guardian, or a visitor?"
He scanned the table for the nametags and took out three, offering them to the two ladies.

((Justin -> food table beeline))
He had accepted the invitation on a whim, really. Parties weren't usually his thing, especially parties where he knew next to know one. It made him... nervous, for lack of a better word. And that was why, and how, he had managed to slip around the clusters of people to deposit the huge pan of jalapeno bacon mac 'n' cheese on the table. Justin was good at not being noticed, he thought affably. But, food deposited, it was socializing time, he supposed.
Right then, some cajun man hollered out the window. He found his mouth opening. "If you need yet another, I can help carry. There seems to be plenty of helping arms around." A dimpled smile creased his cheeks. He was average-sized, and average strength, but he could help a little maybe. And if they didn't need him, well... he'd find something to do. Time to try being a little more outgoing.

Pasha lifted one hand to Shep in parting, her smile a touch rueful. He had been kind, it was a shame he was leaving so soon. She was about to make her own attempt at breaking the ice when an unfamiliar voice called out behind her. Melisande didn't know the speaker, but she recognized the name. Trox.
The Sigel stiffened.
Her hand reached out for Cesc's arm automatically, though she did not turn. Melisande very pointedly kept her back to the pilot, color leaving her face. The tension was palpable. She tried her best to smile towards Mel, trying to let the woman know it wasn't her fault, and leaned in against the Stag as she accepted the name tag. Cesc was her dearest friend, but in that moment all she could picture was the shelter of Rivener's wing.
A few moments later, the pamphlets came their way, and Melisande accepted one with a murmur of thanks. She opened it, glad for the distraction.
"Oh Cesc, look! We're in here! Melanie, you should take one also." If the woman was interested in information, the brochure would be a gold mine.

[Revontulet > Cesc, Tati]]
The touch upon her arm brought a smile to Ren's lips and she reached a hand up to cover the stag's, but he was gone as quickly as his fingers had landed. Although the aurora's smile faded somewhat, she had seen the food in his arms and was sure he was in a hurry to get it put away. Regardless, she would try and speak with Cesc later, if she could.
"Oh! Nice to meet you Tatiana!" Revon said, her wings lofting high on her back in a display of happiness. The somewhat drunken 'walk' over had been noted, but she assumed it was something that shouldn't have been commented about. Doucette had told Ren that Trox had gotten his frei, but times had not been meshing well in terms of getting together for introductions and so Doe knew nothing about the girl to tell to her own charge in preparation. "Is Trox...here?" she asked, turning her head around to look for the pilot and finally spying him with Camille moving towards the food table.
"How are you enjoying your time with him?"

((Melanie --> Food Tables | Meli, Cesc, Shep, Duncan, etc...))
Melanie smiled and went to grasp the pamphlet. It would also be quite useful for her in her reports. "Of course I will, thank you." she said first to Pasha, then turning her attention to the man handing them out. She then opened it. Melisande was the first one. Filled by positive interactions. That just caused her to blush further. Positive interactions did not mean questioning her origin. But the situation had been brushed off as Shepard left.
'Good riddance.' she thought to herself as the man walked away. No more attention needed on the subject.
"A guardian?" the woman questioned aloud, "Oh no, I'm merely a visitor at this point. However, this is a very lovely group."
The nametag was then presented to her. "Why thank you." she said, taking it and walking to the table quickly to write down the name "Melanie" in a very curly and girly font. She then placed it across her chest to display to all attending. That way she could at least make herself known.
"Oh this food looks delicious. I could really eat it right up. Would either of you like a plate?" she asked the two Raevan floating beside her. She was willing to help them get a plate or anything else if they needed it.

(( Anita → food tables/eVERYONE ))
When Duncan made his greeting, Anita followed out several steps behind. Compared to the other ladies present, all she'd care to dress up in was a tank top, black zip hoody, jeans, and sneakers – maybe Cesc and Shep wouldn't feel so out of place. As she stepped outside behind Duncan and Mordekai called out of the window, Anita tied the hoody around her waist instead of wearing it. It wasn't brisk enough outside to warrant the jacket but she wanted to keep it on hand in case things got chilly later. Gambino's sea air was certainly known to be breezy.
She was about to call out to Shepard when he moved up to answer Mordekai's call on his own. Anita opened her mouth then closed it into a firm smile, smirked at Duncan, then finally looked around to get a good look at everyone who was here. So far there were four raevans, only one of which she fully recognized. The sight of Melisande caused Anita's smile to falter slightly with concern but she was quick to move on and right herself. Of the humans, only Shep and Trox were recognized and Troxel was near the food table but he seemed to catch wind of the man's request, as well.
”One at a time, fellas,” Anita grinned over as Mordekai was gathering a small entourage by the window, ”He's a proper lady, treat him right.”
Thus far there wasn't any sign of the green frei she was in charge of in the exterior, though with what was written in the pamphlets he was certainly expected to be present. Behind Mordekai, past the window, there were sounds of soft voices and movements.

((Cesc--> Food tables; Shep --> toward the cafeteria))
Rhedefre noted Melisande stiffening but said nothing, unwilling to bring the matter up before a stranger. In response, he simply slid slightly closer to the sigel, and covered her hand with his own. He waited until Melanie looked down at her pamphlet and turned slightly toward Melisande, smiling encouragingly. Whatever had ruffled her, he would do his best to make her feel safe.
"Mm?" He turned back toward the human as she spoke, and then shook his head. "No, thank you kindly, but please feel free to tuck in." He grinned. "Best to be the first and not miss out on anything."
He paused, just then noticing the man who had dropped off the jalapeno mac and cheese. He lifted his chin in a silent hello, a quiet way of telling the other newcomer he'd been spotted. Two new people! Perhaps they could speak? "And there's something that deserves a first try. What did you make?" He addressed the man directly.
--
Shepard, as he approached the cafeteria, caught sight of Anita. His face relaxed further, and he pointed at her as though accusing her of something, saying only: "YOU" in lieu of a hello.

Tatiana lit up, the feathers of her ears lifting. She clasped her hands together, releasing the aurora with bangles making a dancing sound, reverbing pleasantly to the physics driven Raevan. She nodded emphatically and tilted her head.
"He's really sweet, absolutely gentle and kind," her eyes squinted over at the pilot as he moved to help people, "Look he's so helpful- dropped everything to pick me up. He let me choose my name."
Tatiana flushed. She certainly thought her name was nice but other people might be slightly opposed. She glanced over to the doorway, watching as more people entered and flit her wings slightly in anticipation. "There are so many people to get acquainted with- all of the food is piling up-- wait."
Tatiana paused and looked at the end of Revon's dress then at the ribbons adorning the other raevans in the room. "Everyone has different ribbons. I like the colors."
Trox however was laughing at Anita's comment, shaking his head, "Oh hey if it isn't the adoptive daughter. How's it going, Anita?"
Shepard's 'YOU' caught him off guard and he glanced over at the other man- legit other man. It was nice to have some testosterone- he made this known by giving him the eyebrow raise and chin lift in greeting before finishing his hello to Anita. Harrison gave a small but brilliantly white grin, reaching his free arm out and halting back while Camille continued on to help his fellow coonass. The broad man dipped down, giving Anita a one armed hug before levering his torso back up with a grin. "How have you been? An' how's Cruz? Haven't seen you since winter months."
The pilot adjusted his baseball cap, the front proudly displaying his favorite hockey team, and resumed his path to help the smaller cajun types with the crawdads. Camille on the other hand had made it to the table, resting both hands against it.
"Ey, coonass!" He called out to Mordekai over the table, "Be gentle, h'm on m'new leg!"
