He nodded. "Of course! Any vein that is regularly broken can be like this. Here, come look at his forearm. It's still slightly fractured." He peeled the skin further back, raising the arm more so he could see.

"I know, I dislike the stickiness too," he said, reaching for a small tool beside the bed. "That's why we carefully spray it with water. Just watch." Liam turned on the instrument and started to pray the veins with soft water, the pain almost too much for the victim who was now praying for death. The skilled doctor completed his work in several minutes, taking Julian's hand and setting it on the cleaned vein. "See? Better."

Liam jumped at the thud, motherly instincts springing into action as he immediately gathered Julian into his arms and covered the victim with a sheet. "Stay very quiet, and I'll teach you how to to remove muscles from legs without completely destroying them," he whispered to the boy, setting him on the ground behind him and slowly walking over to the door. Once at it, he opened it a crack and looked outside, frowning at the sight of the one person he really didn't want to see. Liam opened the door wider so Julian could see who it was, setting his hand on his hip and inhaling sharply. "Cameron, what do you want?" he asked impatiently, not very happy to see him and wanting to get back to his bonding with Julian.

"Oh? I thought you were here to rape my cousin again," he remarked, glaring at the policeman disdainfully and setting one hand on Julian's soft hair. "Why should I forgive you, Cameron? Why should I even let you darken my doorway?"

Liam reached down for Julian, picking him up and fixing his hair. "Ignore him. I was teaching Julian how to properly dissect a living body. He's very talented with a knife, Cameron. Look at his work on the man's eye." Taking great care, the doctor reached behind them and closed the door, flickering on the light. "Now keep grovelling."

Cameron continued looking at the body, though his eyes focused more on the scalpel's handle protruding from the begging victim's eye. Ignoring the whimpers for help, the police officer turned to look at Liam. "Please, Liam. What will it take for you to forgive me?" he asked with an urgency in his tone.

Julian nodded and started making his way towards the victim that gave up on any kind of help, but Cameron moved a hand to block his way. "No. Go to the living room and watch some TV until we're done, okay?" he asked, though his eyes remained on the doctor.
Julian hesitated at his blocked path. He looked up at the officer then at Liam then back at the officer. Pursing his lips, he nodded once and plodded to the couch.
Now alone with Liam (and that poor kid on the bed), Cameron straightened up. He moved his cyan eyes to the scalpel and reached for it. Fingers curled around the slim handle, and with a jerk of his arm the blade slid out. The boy cried out in pain, his voice raw from so many other screams, but Cameron didn't care. "It'll take more than I can offer to make you forgive me, right?" he asked as his free hand began to unbutton his shirt. He stopped halfway and parted it so that his chest could be exposed. Remembering back to the countless experiments his father performed, he turned the scalpel in his hand and aimed the tip to the center. He took a deep breath and plunged it inside him, gasping sharply as the blade was forced through the sternum.

"No! This has to be done!" Cameron snapped, his gray-brown hair covering his cyan eyes while blood leaked from the corner of his mouth at the same time. The blade sank more and more, and once it reached the hilt, Cameron grit his teeth and moved it. He coughed up more blood as the bones in his chest shifted and cracked with each movement. His breathing becoming raspy and wet with blood pooling into his lungs, he pulled the scalpel out and tossed it on the floor. His fingers dug into the deep cut at his chest, burrowing inside until he could feel his rips. Grunts of pain slipped through his bleeding mouth, and the sickening sound of ribs cracking from movement could be heard. Even the victim laying on the bed couldn't bear the sight of the officer's self-torture.
But Cameron endured. He opened his own chest, revealing the organs that, miraculously, still worked. His breathing turning shallow, and his skin paling, he reached inside and gripped the rapidly fluttering heart. "You said... it would take more... than I could offer... for you to forgive me..." he whispered, his words wet with blood. His fingers curled around the beating heart, making him wince. "Then... Then I'll offer you everything... until it's... until it's enough." Gritting his teeth to mute the scream that climbed up his bloody throat, Cameron pulled at the organ roughly until, finally, the heart was forced out. He gasped in pain, the process causing him to cough up a hefty amount of blood, yet he remained standing. The victim on the bed stared (with his good eye) in pure awe as the impossible happened.
"I'll offer... everything..." Cameron moved his head until some of his hair moved to let one pained yet loving eye be seen. That pool of cyan and pained tears looked at Liam as his hand moved forward to present to him to still beating heart. "I'm... so sorry... I... love... you." he whispered and smiled through the blood staining his mouth.
