"Augh! Hey!" When water went flying, the boil tried to guard his face.
"I'm not stupid!" Li Shou started purposefully splashing in Helmut's direction.
"ONLY three years? Are you hearing yourself?! I've only been here for a couple weeks and I want to leave!"

"Are so!" Helmut, being the better monster, did not splash him back.
Yet.
"I know what I said!" She announced with a huff. "I wanted to leave too, but you get used to it!" Now she splashed him, slightly, just so the owner wouldn't come around and give her trouble. "And there's always trips home when you're lonely!" She splashed him again.

"Are not!" He wasn't about to back off of that one.
The boil's cheeks puffed up as the water splash was returned. What, was she comparing him to her? So what if she had gotten used to it?!
... So what if...
A peasant somehow made it through a tougher situation than he did, and made him look stupid.
Hm...
"Well maybe you're- HEY!" Li Shou was glad he didn't finish that thought afterwards. He shouldn't tell her she's right. Raising up his hands like he was related to Poseidon, the boil tried to throw a big wave her way with the rage of one thousand typhoons.
"Y-yeah. There's always trips home, I guess." The question was, would he even be allowed home for holidays?

"Maybe I'm what?" Helmut was quick on him the moment she could, not wanting to let that one go just yet. It felt important that he finish it, even if it meant she could try to drown him for being mean. Her attempts to drown him anyway was quickly destroyed as he unleashed a killer typhoon on her, causing her to squeak and turn away from him.
Her response was to take a deep breath and plunge, face first, into the water. She put her whole head under and curled down to put her feet on the floor; then, like a bullet, she shot up and flailed out her arms, trying to send water everywhere.
Thankfully, her towel was very, very tightly tied.
"OR MY HOME!" She cried in victory. "You can visit my home if you want. If you promise not to be mean. Or say anything about peasants. Or servants." There was a very distinct pause before she added, in total seriousness: "Maybe you should pretend you're mute."

NOPE. He wasn't about to finish that Helmut. Not for love or money or THAT GIANT SPLASH!
sploosh. Li Shou started coughing after the torrential downpour, rubbing his eyes while he tried to clear his throat and nose.
"Your home?" His tone was so skeptical it almost tipped the scale. It looked like he was about to say something offensive before he was taken aback by her suggestion. M-mute?
"Excuse me?" Li Shou gestured wildly as if to emphasize his shock. "I'm not some kind of defective degenerate!" Though a mute would probably be 50x more useful than he was, and at least 20 percent more attractive, no matter what species. "What kind of stupid idea is that?!" Prepare yourself Helmut, because he was about to lay the splashdown on you. Full out splash assault!

"Are too!" Helmut shot back, before letting out a very loud near squawk of surprise as more water went sailing in her direction. She twisted to put her back to him, her arms up to shield her eyes again, and this time didn't splash him back right away.
"I think it's a great idea! You can see how normal people function!" She was trying her best to not shout at him and his stupid notions, but she was a little loud; something she would blame on the splashing water.

"Oh, you mean commoners." He had refrained from 'peasant'. Didn't that make you proud, Helmut?
Anyways... He was normal! Everything about him was... Normal. Totally. "I'm not a degenerate!" He reaffirmed, his tail splashing behind him as it thrashed about.
"Besides, what would I get out of it?"

"Nor-mal peo-ple." Helmut annunciated for him, scowling the whole time. At least he hadn't used peasant this time. Perhaps he was learning? Definitely not fast enough, though.
"Yes you are!" Except she had no idea what a degenerate was. Her guess was that it was not a good thing, so, that was definitely Li Shou. "Out of here for a few days. A better outlook on life? I don't know, and who cares!"

"I care!" Li Shou shouted with a scowl that slowly faded.
She was right, though. If he ended up forbade from coming home until either his 'sentence' was served or he gave up, the demon would need a break from this place.
And... Surely it couldn't be any worse than Amityville, right? Right. Definitely. Perhaps staying at a 'B&B' would prove interesting, anyways. "Fine." He scoffed. "Perhaps I will consider visiting your..." the word 'hovel' was about to slip out of his mouth, but he managed to catch it. "... Dwelling." There. Much better.
"But I will need certain amenities, of course." One could only fathom what those might be...

"Why?" Helmut challenged, wondering what was so important about needing to benefit somehow. It just didn't make sense to her! She glared at him as he searched for a word to describe her home, as if daring him to say something bad about it. When he settled on a pretty decent word, her glaring eased and eventually melted away entirely, for now.
"Like what?" She asked hesitantly, almost afraid of what the answer would be.

Li Shou thought it important to get everything one could out of a situation, or milk it for all it's worth... Especially if it had the potential to be a rather unsavory place.
"I'll need..." He trailed off as he tried to concoct a list. "My own pair of chopsticks, steamed rice with each meal, at least one servant to follow me around, a cup of green tea every morning..." The boil counted on his fingers as he made his slowly growing preposterous list.

Helmut scowled at him from under her dripping wet bangs.
"You'll get your own chopsticks." She counter-offered, as if it were final. "And I guess I'll hang around you..." Which seemed like a good idea, considering she didn't want him to ruin her home with his increasing dumb.
"But I'm not your servant!"

Li Shou seemed almost surprised by the lack of resistance, and downright shocked by her declaration of following him around.
The boil grinned when she denied her servitude to him.
"Are too!" Here we go again. "You even made me dinner when I asked you to. Sounds like a servant to me."

"WHAT?!" Helmut near-shrieked, her voice high pitched in shock. He was back to his old habits, apparently, but that was the least of her concerns. "I did it because I thought we were friends!" She splashed him again, but it was too half-hearted to do much. "Friends do nice things for each other!" Stupid. Stupid boil.
"I take it back, you're never allowed to visit my home." There was a pause, and she puffed out her cheeks. "Ever."

Li Shou grabbed his ears and cringed at the painful way she made her interrogative objection clear.
When she calmed down, he slowly lowered his hands with a raised eyebrow. "... You really want to be my friend, don't you?"
The cat demon rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "Well, I can see why. I'm a pretty cool person." Yes. He was being for real right now. it could've also been that she wanted to use him for his high ranking.
Awwww, he had upset her with the servant thing. What, did she want him to consider her an equal? Psch.
"Afraid that your parents might want to keep me?" The boil gloated, ears twitching. Seriously, who wouldn't? His mama had always said he was so cute that other people might get jealous and steal him from her.
