The slimmer audio was demanding in his own way, and with a great sigh Derek moved over, barely out of the way. Until the oven started to open, then he inched away carefully until it shut. The combination of the blast of heat and Stiles controlling it was unsettling.
He quickly moved back when Stiles was done, trying to show that he was in charge of this, thank you very much. Belatedly he thought to grab the salt and pepper to season the eggs, and he had just managed to sprinkle that on when Stiles was pressing up against him. Derek froze, hand hovering uncertainly, feeling what suspiciously felt like a purr building inside of him as Stiles' fingers began to pet him.
Then he jolted slightly, realizing that he was about to forget the eggs. Again. And he was paranoid now. He tried to ignore the heat on his back so he could focus on the eggs, though he certainly wasn't trying to move away. It took him a bit longer than it probably should but he managed to flip them with the yolk intact.
He was torn, stuck between wanting to make some sarcastic remark, and wanting to say something probably embarrassingly sappy. In the end he said nothing at all as the eggs finished cooking.

God, who knew Derek Hale actually was a drama queen? Stiles rolled his eyes in a fond manner as he watched Derek move out of his way and then just settled there, against Derek's strong, well muscled back. Stiles found himself kissing over the tattoo he knew was there. In this case it'd be fur patterns wouldn't it? Still, he knew it was there and he found his nose tracing it without really thinking about it. Stiles tail flicked from side to side as he just soaked in the warmth and the smells.
The smells of Derek, soap, and, breakfast. Yep, favorite scents all rolled into one.
Slowly, Stiles slipped his fingers under the hem of Derek's pants and teased the shorter fur there, sliding claws along his hip bone before his ears flicked and he peeked around to look at the eggs.
"You know, if you burn them it's fine...."
With a deep breath, Stiles moved to kiss at Derek's throat and then his shoulder and pressed himself there again as he flipped the eggs. Impressive.
"Anyway, tomorrow I think we should clean." Not that there was much to clean, but right now Stiles was making small talk. If this was a normal day he'd go hang out with Scott, but seeing as Scott wasn't here, Stiles didn't know what to do with himself all day.

Derek was trying to focus, and was grateful that his fur covered his flushed skin, feeling his breath catch. Of course, he was forgetting his tail, which was giving away just how much he was enjoying the attention with quick wags brushing against Stiles' legs.
Instead he just focused on what he did best, saying things grumpily. "I can cook eggs, Stiles." He had to do at least this much right for him. The lips at his throat were distracting though, and he unconsciously started tilting his head for better access before he snapped out of it, almost relieved when Stiles was merely pressed up against him.
"Yeah we can do that." Derek latched onto the idea quickly, trying to focus on things that wouldn't cause his eggs to burn such as setting Stiles on the counter and settling between his legs. He moved the eggs onto a plate as he spoke. "We probably have enough for a couple of loads of laundry and we might need to go through the fridge."

Yes, he knew he brought up cleaning, but laundry was such a mood killer, even if he had been setting he mood on accident. Stiles realized what he'd done en he felt Derek's tail against his leg, and it caused him to get even more fidgety, if that was possible. Without trying to be conspicuous, Stiles stretched himself out and then cleared his throat.
"Yeah, yeah. I know you can cook eggs. ...At least I think I know." Did he know? This fuzzy memory stuff was ridiculous and he wished he could remember things. It was almost as bad as that time he couldn't read... but that's all he remembered about that, too. He frowned harder the more he thought about it and ended up scratching at one of his moles. "I mean.. You've cooked them before, right? Like the other day? I think that's what we had." He shrugged and slowly moved away so Derek wouldn't drop the eggs.
Being distracting wasn't so bad. Not really. Sighing, he looked around the apartment and rolled his shoulders. "Okay, right, we'll do that soon, maybe. ..And dishes, and dusting? Sweeping..." He was making a check list in his head, tapping fingers against the counter with every syllable. "What do you want to do? I mean, we don't have to clean, we can do other things. ...Wanna go play fetch?" HA! Dog joke.

For a moment Derek was hopeful, any memory brought back to one of them had to mean something, right? Then his hopes were dashed when he realized Stiles was just talking about the other day, and it was just a reminder that they would probably never actually remember. He could almost imagine someone cheerfully telling him that they'd be better off making new memories, but whatever voice he imagined was waaaay to cheerful to be himself, so he didn't have to trust it. Stiles' suggestions were actually good ones, but dusting and even sweeping could take the backseat to their laundry. He had a suspicion that he really didn't even want to smell some of the clothes towards the bottom of his hamper, and to be honest he didn't even know if Stiles' clothes were in the hamper too or in a pile in his room. He tried to remember if he'd seen plaid in there, but he wasn't going to strain himself. Derek started paying attention in time to hear Stiles trying to veer off track, and he was already starting to shake his head when the dog joke just...happened. His head jerked to a halt and he gave the other audio a glare as his ears flattened slightly. "Stop being ridiculous. Just...put this in your mouth and stop talking." He shoved Stiles' plate toward him before snatching up his own, half marching over to the table and sitting as if everything was in his control. Then he realized he didn't have a fork, and it would practically be a defeat to go get one. He glared at his eggs as if they'd personally offended him then started to eat with his fingers. This was so what he had meant to do.
