Tallulah slipped into the booth across from Paris. She'd wait and figure out what to get to drink later, once she'd taken a look at the menu - and even though Paris was only turning twenty, she'd probably see about whether she could get something for her as well. "It's actually a sort of embarrassing story," she laughed, flipping through her menu. "I almost passed out at the DCU gym, and he's a med student doing a sports medicine internship, and he made sure I was okay... and we just sort of went from there. He took me out for drinks on my birthday." Paris's story made her briefly consider the Paul's potential to be involved in things, but Tallulah shoved the thought aside. Speculating over things she'd never be able to prove true or false was a waste of energy, and even though it seemed like everyone she knew was a senshi or a knight, superheroes really were the overwhelming minority of the Destiny City population. Like, seriously, what were the chances? "I've done the dating another insider thing," she added, since she was pretty sure she and Jaimie had already been kaput by the time Paris met her. "It didn't work out so well for me." But maybe that had just been them. "How do you and Chris make it work? Isn't it stressful? And how did you figure out you were both, you know, involved in the first place? I'm not sure I ever heard that story." Tallulah clicked her tongue at the menu. "Eggplant parm, I think. And do they know you too well here, or can I buy you a drink?" Because underage drinking was totally a thing she was encouraging right now. A+ roll model Tallulah Cowden.

“To be honest, at this point it would probably be harder to make it work if Chris wasn't involved,” Paris admitted. “It helps that he understands, and that he's there when, you know, everything goes to hell. I mean, it's scary, too. I don't want him getting hurt, but we both know what's going on so there's not any of that awkward explaining to do, and we try to keep all that separate from the rest of our lives as much as we can. It's surprisingly easy. Or it has been for us.”
She fingered the folds of her menu as she thought back to a less simple time. “I found out who he was a couple months after we started dating,” she continued. “We'd both volunteered as counselors at a summer camp and there was, you know... a battle...”
Paris glanced around warily, keeping her voice a bit lower than usual as she spoke. Luckily they were in a nice private corner with few other people around. She doubted any of them could hear their conversation—if anyone was even interested in what two young college-aged women had to say to one another.
“Some sort of energy draining operation was going on. There were some youma. You know, the usual set up. Anyway, Chris transformed in front of me. I waited until he'd gone off. I didn't want him to know yet. I wanted to keep pretending to be normal. Wasn't ready to give it up yet. But we broke up for a bit during the Surrounding, and I was really torn up about a lot of things at that point, so after that battle I told him and... I won't lie and say it didn't change things, or that I don't sometimes miss all the silly normal things from before, but I wouldn't take it back. It's made us closer, obviously. Maybe we just got lucky,” she said and cleared her throat. Her ring felt as heavy and conspicuous on her finger as it always did.
“But anyway...” she waved one of her hands as if to scatter the building memories. “A med student, huh? He must be busy a lot then. Not that that's necessarily a band thing. He won't be constantly underfoot. I think that was one of the things that helped me and Chris initially. We were both busy with our own things. We weren't together all the time so we didn't really have time to get sick of one another,” she joked.
“They know me by face and name,” she answered when it came to drinks. She grinned impishly. “But as far as they're aware I'm old enough. I've been doing it for years, never been caught. 'Bout one of my last bad habits I haven't gotten rid of yet.”

"Huh," said Tallulah, just to say something, although she knew from experience that not having to lie to people about where you were slipping off to was a lot easier. Call it willful ignorance - so far the biggest lie she'd had to tell Paul was about having Lyme Disease, and she'd been on break from senshi activities until recent and was still only going at about half-speed, so it was an easy lie to maintain. "It's always an energy draining operation," she sighed dramatically. "Which, I mean, I don't miss the days when they were flat-out killing people, because, hello, no, but would it kill them to be a bit more creative than energy draining and ambushes? For example, I, for one, would like to win once in a while." She paled. This had somehow gone from very determinedly not talking about work to, well, talking about work. "But that's not really something we should be talking about tonight," Tallulah backtracked. There were far better times for airing her senshi grievances. "It's great that all that worked out for the two of you. You're cute together." "He is really busy," Tallulah continued, glad to be back on a subject not relating to The Perks and Pitfalls of Being a Superhero. "But a lot of the pre-med and pre-vet courses overlap, so he's taken all the classes I'm in this semester and he's helping me catch up. Taking a year and a half medical leave kind of threw me through an academic wringer." And, feeling scandalous, and because she thought Paris might appreciate the information more than anyone else (and it wasn't like there was anyone else she could disclose this to, even if she wanted to), Tallulah added, "I've also learned the best places to have sex in the DCU library. So there's that." "Anyway," she said breezily, "Pass me the cocktail menu and let's get something stronger than sprite and grenadine. Ooh, sangria by the pitcher! We could do some real damage with one of those..."

Paris was more than happy to leave Senshi talk there and move on to what she thought were far more interesting topics.
“The library?? Tallulah, I am impressed,” she said, her expression emphatic.
Because her girlfriends having semi-public sex with attractive (or at least she assumed he was attractive) pre-med students was way more important than energy-draining and Negaverse ambushes. It was the sort of illicit exchange of juicy gossip and scandalous tales she hadn't had much cause to share in recently.
“I don't think I've ever done it in a library. Never really had many opportunities. Not exactly the library type,” she said. “And Chris would be scandalized. Or pretend to be. He's so precious. Anyway, I'm so proud! I kind of fell out of the semi-public routine after that one time in the bathroom at Meadowview. Actually, that's not true, I used to sneak out to the bleachers when they sent me to Hillworth. It was a lot harder to get away with stuff there, though.”
Ah, memories. Not all of which Paris felt too keen to recount. She cleared her throat after a brief moment of awkwardness and passed the cocktail menu as requested. “Sangria's got my vote. Let's get very pleasantly buzzed and exchange sordid tales of our numerous or not-so-numerous sexcapades.”Silverah Sorry I so slow! QQ If you wanna wrap it, that's fine with me! <3

Tallulah grinned a Paris, glad to have managed to impress the other girl on a matter where Paris otherwise had far more experience. "I heard about the bathroom at Meadowview," she said, with quiet awe. She'd been a year ahead of Paris in high school, and their social groups hadn't exactly overlapped at the time - she'd thought the rumors about a student being expelled and sent to a reformatory program for having sex in the bathroom were just that: rumors. "But, like, A)," she said, "I had no idea that was you, and B), I had no idea that actually happened. I thought it was just, like, someone got expelled and people were making things up and talking through their butts." But apparently it was true, in which case Paris was a Meadowview legend and Tallulah was proud to know her. "Anyway, yes, okay, let's do that," she said, flattening her hands over her menu. "Happy birthday. Let's live it up."
