Ethan visibly relaxed as the owl explained what he knew of the mare's heart. "Ah can understand that." He said softly as he looked back to Branwen. "Mah whole life ah've run across soquili that thought jus because ah had a touch o' kalona in me, that it meant the whole bushel was spoiled." He shook his head, "Sometimes, that little bit o fire can just make ye stronger... but be tempered by the rest o' ye that's good."
"Ah'll want to hear what ye know o' how she was hurt... but fer now... while the medicine's still in her system, now's prolly the best time to try to move. We can getcha to the herdgrounds were you'll be safe... and we can see to yer wounds better." Ethan was a little worried, granted, that whatever had attacked her might still be in the area. Not just as an extra incentive to move now.... but he hoped that that didn't come looking for her in his herd. But even if it did... he was confident with his capabilities along with the rest of his family and herdmates to put up a strong defense.
Sometimes... when you did have a frightning facade like himself or Branwen... you needed that support.. that trust.
"C'mon... les see if'n ye can move." Very gently, Ethan knelt with his front legs, offering his horns for support.
"I'mma gonna get 'er back to the herdgrounds," He explained to the familiar, "an there she can rest and we can take a look at her injuries more easily. Don't worry. She'll be safe with us."
And slowly, very slowly, Ethan helped the wounded mare to her feet, using his shoulders, tail, horns, and whatever else he needed to give her stability and support. He could tell that the medicine was having an effect as her breathing slowed to something less frantic and more sedated, and she began to move with him as he coaxed and encouraged.
Celestial Requiem
And that should be a good wrapping point - She's Ethan gets her back since she's pretty out of it now, offering her shelter/sanctuary/a home with the Bythol herd.
