Sam could only shake his head good-humoredly as he departed. To get a big bug to like her? Yeah, she'd need to try pretty hard for that... But! With any luck she'd have what she came for! And Sam always enjoyed a happy ending. So, he tried not to be too pessimistic about it and instead focused on his hunt. These valleys were littered with small morsels of meat. easy to catch, but hardly even a mouthful for a trapped borgnah. Sam ignored them, in favor of finding prey that would at least last them a couple hours. It didn't take long. He spotted a rather large purple bird-like creature pecking along the ground, occasionally fanning its vibrant wings, as if it was begging to be eaten.

Sam obliged. The tussle lasted only an instant, then he was carrying his prize back to where he'd left Kadryn and the borgnah. Hopefully it liked Argaroo!

Whoo! Make it! Kadryn got her self a mount!

Kadryn, now that the Borgnah was calmer. She stood up slowly to not startle the creature. She smiled when she noticed her head barely topped the Borgnah's body.
"Well, you're tall enough and look strong enough to carry me. Maybe not Kirosh, but definitely me!" She said softly as she took a closer step towards creature. It stiffened slightly, but relaxed when she did nothing more than pat it's abdomen gently. Turning its eight golden orbs to her, it clicked it's mandibles together ad lightly knocked a leg against one of the rocky bars on the cage holding it in. Kadryn smiled at this, Borgnah were intelligent, which is why she wanted one!

She pointed at the returning Sameal. "He'll let you out soon enough." She said, not knowing if it would understand but hoping it would. How do I keep it from fleeing? I need a collar of some sort. She reached out and dragged her pack into the cage to search for something.
She had rope and an extra belt. maybe this will work as a leash? But how would it fit? Hmmmm.. I'll just wait and see what idea's Sameal has. Maybe it'll stick around and I won't need a leash. Last time the Borgnah just stuck around after I kept feeding it.

Sam squinted as he neared the spot he'd left Kadryn and her creature. Maybe he was seeing things, but it looked kind of like she was... in there with it...? At first he thought maybe it had dragged her in. The borgnah did look pretty gritty and gruff, plus Kadryn was a rather petite woman. It wouldn't surprise Sam if it had the strength to rip her through those bars and give her a shake... He flew a little faster. But as he neared it became slightly more clear that she was in there of her own accord... The borgnah wasn't even touching her... Well, he couldn't patronize her for not being devoted to her cause, that was for sure! The creature must not even be particularly hostile if it let her sit right there at its side! The Gaili couldn't help way a grin tugged at his lips. "So it tolerates you, at least. That's a pretty good start!" The Gaili said cheerfully as he landed near them, plopping the large argaroo body onto the ground in front of his cage.

He considered stuffing the scaly bird in the cage with them, but it was probably best if the beast kind of knew they didn't expect it to be pinned for all of their endeavors. And if it tried to make a run for it, then Sam could just snap it back up again. With a jolt of his arms the bars lurched back into the earth, and Kadryn and her borgnah were free again. The Gaili kept a watchful eye on the creature as it took its first several steps of renewed freedom and approached the argaroo carcass. The Gaili's lime orbs flicked to the Orderite. She seemed unharmed... "I sure hope you know what you're doing with this thing."

Kadryn smiled as the cage dissolved and Sameal spoke to her. "Oh, I don't have much idea on how to tame it!" She laughed, "But I know someone who does! I was thinking of just walking it down to the Wild Tribe camp and getting it used to carrying my pack while doing so. Once at the camp I'll get help from the guy I gave the other Borgnah too. He'll have better ideas on what to do." She nodded happily as she watched the borgnah eat the carcass quickly.
"Thanks for helping me catch him! That cage of yours is really useful! Pity all I can do with my magic is shield myself of make my mace light up." She sighed as she slipped the rope about the brognah's waist and loosely tied her jacket to his back.
"I think you're supposed to start off easy and not put anything heavy on first," she muttered to herself as the borgnah looked at her, then the jacket, than back to her before turning back to its meal.
"Will travel with me? Or do you have other things that need doing?" She asked Sameal curiously.

Sam could only chuckle in amusement. He should've known Kadryn wouldn't know how to train the thing. Not that he had any room to talk himself, since he really didn't know much about any of the creatures he picked up along the mountainside. She was already farther along in her knowledge than he was... "Ah, you know someone who can help you train it?" Man, where could Sam get someone like that? he couldn't help but beam at her praise of his magic, though. And it reminded him faintly of his newly obtained weapon that he hadn't made much headway using... "Who needs magic when you've got brute force? I'd like to see anyone try and stop you from coming at them with that thing..." Sam replied with a nod to her mace. He unconsciously rubbed at his head, where he'd once felt the force of the weapon against his skull....

he glanced from Kadryn to the borgnah and back. Things that need doing, huh...? Now that she mentioned it... "I probably should get back to my clan..." He admitted halfheartedly. "I've got my own little creatures I need to take care of. But thank you. For inviting me. Next time we meet, I hope to see you riding this thing!" He told her with a laugh before fanning his wings and kicking into the air. He gave her a parting wave before flying back toward his home.

She grinned and waved goodbye to Samael as he left. Now to get the borgnah to follow. This she did by the simple means of feeding it the snacks she had in her bag for herself. And hunting for it Good thing the tribe moved yesterday and came closer to where I am, she thought.
Once again, a dovaa sentry spotted her as she approached. This one was female and Firani clanned.
"You the one who brought the other ugly spider in?" She asked as she cast an eye over the Borgnah Kadryn was feeding.
"Yeah," Kadryn grinned. "Is Teshan in? I want his help with training this one."
"He's by the large pen around the other side of that dune there." The dovaa waved to her left. "Don't know why you want something so ugly!"
"Aww, but they're really smart!" Kadryn said with a mock pout. "And fast! Pity they can't fly...."
"Uhg! No!" The other laughed and made a grossed out face. "Flying Borgs is too much!"
Kadryn laughed and shook her head as she lead her borgnah towards the hill. They weren't ugly.. not really! Just.. spidery... very much so.

Teshan was delighted to see her again and happy that she had another Borgnah. Though he was a little put out that she was keeping this one as it was far larger and more impressive than the earlier one!

Over the next week, he showed her how to get the borgnah to accept a bridle, one he'd designed himself, and slowly added weights on to its back for short intervals. After another week, Kadryn finally mounted it. Though the Borgnah didn't move, it didn't buck her off either.
After another week, she recieved word that Kirosh was coming back. Well, I'll have a surprise for him! She thought with a grin as she and the Borgnah both learned what orders and movements meant what while riding. It would take them some time to get good at being a team, but Leirs, as she called him, was now quite loyal and needed no leash or food brbes to stay by her side.
