While Mae had taken to mostly ignoring the other boy, Darke couldn't help but notice how the little Dovaa seemed to flinch at everything. No matter what type of dragon they faced, the youngser boy's expression practically screamed that he took issue with it. The Alihora wondered why... Maybe this Dovaa felt some kind of strange affinity to his dragon brethren? Darke didn't know. But Mae didn't seem to mind. He attacked the Peisio in the room with all the animosity he displayed toward any other type of dragon, and was rewarded for his efforts.

Room 8
First die: If the number is 1-2, you encounter a Firani dragon. If the number is 3-4, you encounter a Peisio dragon.
Second die: If the number is 1, a sudden beam of light hits the room from outside, brightening the light where you can see better. Your luck chance has increased by 10%! [So if your normal luck range is normally 61-100, it is now 51-100. You cannot go below 6-100, though.] If the number is 2, the dragon encountered is a Ysali dragon instead of the dragon rolled. If the number is 3-4, nothing happens and you fight as normal.
Even more glowing fungus in this room, which has spread to the ceiling in patches as well. This room has a large puddle, almost a small pond, in the middle. Watch out!

The Orderite with his strange sword probably had much more difficulty fighting than Tohru would with his magic. He could feel it coiling through him. Maybe he was sapping some of Mae's adrenaline. But since he still didn't have any actual control over his abilities, it seemed foolish to use them, when he may injure more than just a dragon. WIth a whimper, he tucked it away as best he could, even when faced with a pond..? There was a Ysali sitting in the middle of it... It seemed strange for that weaker dragon to be here.

"Just a Ysali this time!" Mae griped as he spotted the green dragon basking comfortably in the pond. The dragons were supposed to be getting stronger! Well... Whatever. At least he could enjoy watching this beast turn these waters red. Darke disagreed. The younger teen would clearly not enjoy that sight. It seemed a little crueler, but he decided it would be better if they drowned, then froze it. At least the sight wouldn't be as bloody. He was sure the Ysali didn't like it either, but he and Mae pulled it off easily enough...

Room 9
First die: If the number is 1, you encounter a Firani dragon. If the number is 2-3, you encounter a Peisio dragon. If the number is 4, you encounter an Aiskala dragon.
Second die: If the number is 1, nothing happens and you fight as normal. If the number is 2, there is no dragon in this room and instead you encounter a Notbjavoin. See "Creatures" below to see stats. You still fight just like in a dragon hunt, only against the creature instead of a dragon. If the number is 3, after beating the dragon, you find a small chest! Opening it reveals one healing potion per participant. [If you have found the chest and reenter and roll a 3 again, the chest is there, but empty since you already opened it.] If the number is 4, nothing happens and you fight as normal.
The floors are now very damp, so watch your step! More fungus on the ceiling reflects in the water on the floor. This room has several large boulders scattered about the area.

Tohru probably hated the sounds more than anything else. He could hear the dragon's roars and calls, mixed with the commands Mae gave to his companion, mixed with much thrashing about by all parties, mixed with the metallic rings from the Orderite's blade... But Tohru learned that the silence was worse. The frozen water drowned out most of the Ysali's sounds, save for some faint pounding, and the little Dovaa found that to be much more disturbing. He thought he may even faint. Rather than watch Mae swim through the chilled water to collect the orbs, he continued on. The next room held a napping Firani. Maybe it wouldn't bother them, and they could just continue on...

Hnng... The water was still cold from Darke's ice, but far be it for Mae to leave behind two perfectly good orbs! The swim was definitely worth it, in his opinion, even if the air got colder and colder the deeper they went in the cave... Well, whatever! He did sort of have an affinity to cold, anyway... That didn't mean he wasn't almost thankful when he spotted a Firani in the next cavern. What he didn't see was the Dovaa... maybe he'd crept on without him? Either way, charge! Mae... didn't feel bad for dragons. They were his and every other two-legger's enemy, and they needed to go! Finding a sleeping one was just luck. A treat to keep him from wearing out while in the cave. Once it was dispatched, he moved along.

Room 10
First die: If the number is 1-2, you encounter a Peisio dragon. If the number is 3-4, you encounter an Aiskala dragon.
Second die: If the number is 1, there is no dragon in this room. Instead, you find yourself facing a large pit in the middle of the room. Along the walls, there is a small ledge of floor remaining. RP crossing (or not crossing) this pit. If the number is 2-3, nothing happens and you fight as normal. If the number is 4, after fighting the dragon you find a locked chest. You can try to open it by rolling one 100-sided die. If you want to try and pick the lock open, add your INT. If you want to try and bash the chest open, add your ATK. Make sure only one person rolls and adds their desired stat! You may not combine your INT and your partners ATK. Only one person may try forcing the chest open or picking it at one time! If the first person fails, then the next gets to try and so on until everyone has failed or someone succeeded.

If your combined die roll and score is 70 or higher, you open the chest to find a Potion of Strength (one for each participant). Otherwise, the chest remains locked. [You can only find the locked chest once and each participant only has one chance at opening it. So if you reenter this room and roll a 4 again, the chest is still there and locked if it was not opened. If opened, it sits empty.]
More of the glowing fungus grows in this room, aiding what little light has penetrated this far into the cave system. The light reflects off the damp walls and puddles, adding to this effect.

Tohru probably shouldn't have gone on without the Orderite. But... He was kinda hoping the other teen would follow his lead... Which was what Orderites and Oblivionites were supposed to do for Dovaa, but... Obviously the purple-haired fellow was too stubborn to do so. Because it left Tohru facing an Aiskala on his own. He'd tried to avoid it at first, but as it let out frozen blasts at him that made everything slick, Tohru knew he was doomed. The beast charged for him, coming at him with fangs and talons bared. With an alarmed squeak, Tohru let off a crippling shock that not only stopped the dragon, but... even finished it...

Despite still being alive to recount the tale, Tohru whimpered. The shock had sprung forth without his consent... It singed his fingers and made his insides burn, and he just wished he didn't have any magic to deal with... But that wasn't the case, and it would probably never be... He stood slowly, rubbing at his arms. Then came the bright point. Next to the orbs...a chest! The Dovaa let himself be curious of it. Taking out a hairpin, he picked the lock and produced... Potions? He glanced back to the entrance to see the Orderite watching him.

"So, you're a Kiandri, huh?" Mae grinned as he moved toward the boy. He probably should've known because of... I dunno, the yellow in his hair? He hadn't used any magic, and the golden strands and eyes seemed to be the only indication... He bet Firani's and Gailis could have that too, though. Mae took the offered potion and handed the orbs he'd saved for the boy over. "It's pretty useful, I bet. Why not use it more often?" His magic, of course. Mae only had Darke to rely on, and none of his own, so... Yeah, he bet it was useful!

That character has stepped in some fresh dragon poo and will spend the rest of this room stinking. (No effect on luck chance.) If the number is 4, you begin to shiver, lowering your luck chance by 10%. [If your normal luck range is 61-100, it is now 71-100.]
The light from outside no longer penetrates this far, but the glowing fungus has taken over so that you are in a perpetual twilight dimness from here onward. The dampness has now taken a chill to the air as well, leaving a few ice crystals upon the walls here and there.

Tohru was aghast. His magic, useful? No, not at all. It was a curse that sprang forth whenever it wanted, heedless of his own desires. But as a Warrior Orderite, Mae didn't have to worry about that. The Kiandri shook his head. "It's useless..." He whispered softly. And he hated it. he took a step away, then remembered something. "Tohru... It's my name."

"Tohru, huh? That seems okay. Why don't you try and keep up now. We can get through together." Mae offered. He'd already gone through once with a hybrid, so surely a Dovaa was better than that. Even if he was... kinda useless. Mae shrugged and moved into the next room, just to be greeted by a Peisio. It was a fight Tohru could win, but Mae decided to take it on, anyway. He at least had the confidence to do so. Jets of water mixed with Darke's frozen crystals in the air, but soon enough, the dragon fell to Mae's feet.

Room 12

Second die: If the number is 1, you slip and slide on the ice, lowering your luck chance by 10%. [If your normal luck range is 61-100, it is now 71-100.] If the number is 2, after fighting the dragon, you find a small chest. Opening it reveals an elixer. (One per participant.) [If you have found the chest and reenter and roll a 2 again, the chest is there, but empty since you already opened it.] If the number is 3-4, nothing happens and you fight as normal.
The icy areas are still limited to the walls in this room, but they are larger patches than in the previous room. The chilly air seems to be getting even colder.

Yeah. Together was definitely the only way Tohru was making it through this Cave. He didn't know what he'd been thinking, considering he'd started off alone... But Maeron seemed strong and capable. Yeah, together they could. And he'd get a few orbs and even potions from it, too! The next room held a Gaili, clinging with its black talons to the cave wall. Gaili... That was one of Tohru's magical weaknesses, wasn't it...? he could only hope Mae could handle such a powerful dragon...

And handle it Mae did! Darke's magic wasn't the best to use on it, but it wasn't the worst, either. And it seemed to do more damage than Mae's sword, so the boy commanded Darke through the air. The Alihora was smaller and quicker and was able to win out due to speed and maneuverability. But! It didn't really matter how he won, so long as he got the orb from it.

It was chilly and dark, and that actually helped distract Tohru from the slaughterings taking place around him. But... something about watching the Alihora battle (rather than the Orderite), actually made it... better. The feathered Aiskalan was beautiful and graceful in the air. Mae had called him... Darke, right? And his beauty combined with his ferocity was somehow elegant, and appealing. Tohru couldn't help but watch.

Mae couldn't help but notice how the Dovaa's eyes shone as he watched Darke fly. The Orderite pretty much knew exactly what he felt like. "He's great, isn't he?" he asked softly as they headed toward the next room, and another Aiskala. The Alihora beamed at the quiet praise he was receiving, even if it wasn't directed at him. Tohru nodded in answer to his question, and Mae grinned. "I'll tell you all about him once we;re done here!" he promised, charging in to meet the icy dragon head-on.
