Rythorn stood like a silent sentry for hours even after she had dosed off. He probably would have continued to stand as such if Dakota hadn't come back from his silly little adventures to question him. "Do not wake her." he said gruffly, sternly to the pup.
"Who is she?" Dakota questioned, his eyes wide and curious, tail flicking as he went over to investigate her, tail flicking widly. "She's hurt her wing."
Rythorn snorted, rolling his eyes. Lovely. But her hooves still worked so that meant she could leave come sun rise.... damn.
What even was he thinking? Shaking his head, the guard finally let himself drop to the floor, armor crumpling into itself as he stretched out at the mouth of the cave, head still erect as he gazed out into the sun, almost refusing to let his weary lids shut. It was only after endless minutes of fighting and casting glances back at Sallexis did he finally let his head drop against his will, falling fast into a slumber.
The last thought on his mind being that deep down... was the idea of her still being there come morning.

The thump of him falling asleep made her jump softly. Groggy eyes fluttered open and focused upon the dark figure in the cave mouth with a smaller furred figure nestled closer to him. So he wasn't alone after all...
She remained still for quite some time, listening to any sort of noise that might suggest him still awake, but after a short while, his heavy deep breaths gave away that he was in fact asleep. DEEP in it too.
She exhaled a sigh of relief and carefully stood as quietly as she could. She had some practice in the effort. There were many times where she'd have to sneak out of a TeePee or out of a sleeping pile of her family. Still, she took extra special effort to take as light and soft steps as she could muster.
Tip-toeing around him would prove a bit of a challenge, but she hoped his deep sleeping would continue long enough for her to escape and stretch her legs some.
Leaving her mask behind for now, she managed to sneak past him, her hoof falls remaining steady and as quiet as Soquili possible until she was sure she was out of earshot. At that point, she exhaled deeply again, only just realizing that she was nearly holding her breath. She stretched her wing and bit her lip. Yeah. There'd be no flying for at least a week.
She grumbled inwardly and turned, heading back towards the puddle for a drink. The cool water splashed eagerly down her throat and she paused to nibble at some grass for breakfast...
Hmm... Breakfast...
She fell into a deep thought for a moment before she blinked and started to shimmy herself out of her neck armor. Carefully, she began to pull at the longer bits of grass and drop them into the large bowl of the armor. Once it was full, she smiled softly to herself and picked up the armor from the small end, carrying it like a basket. Satisfied with her decision, she turned again, heading back towards the cave at a leisurely walk.
She only hoped he liked to eat grass and not other Soq...
