The diva was speaking...the bleeding Septic had been blasting all over the internet that he'd be coming here to do this, bragging about it, and he was trying to goad Jasper into a fight by acting even more like a bloody fruitcake? Not even worth responding to. Itzel noticed his cue, good. A shame, though that she didn't feel like talking about herself. The Hawaiian girl, another nobody. The black-haired and blue-eyed kid who looked like he'd just given The Sweeney the slip. Just another face.

"Nah, mate, you're actually right on time. It's Ren who's late...I swear, that bollocksed kid has no concept of time, holdin' us up like it's her own bloody birthday party. If she keeps us waitin' much longer, she's gonna be in deep Barney." Oh well, might as well strike up some conversation. First he checked his watch that he'd set to Kyoto time on the flight over, then he adjusted his grip on the briefcase before holding out some small bills to Angelo. "If you could be a pal and run to that vending machine over there and grab me a drink, I'd really appreciate it. I'd do it myself but my uh...baggage, is quite valuable and I don't feel right stepping away from it in a public place like this."

And this is why he needed Ren. She of all people understood exactly what he had with him and also understood that that was exactly why he couldn't just ask someone to watch his bags for him. If Angelo took it, he'd then turn to the others before asking them all a question. If Angelo didn't, he'd simply stuff it back into his wallet before turning and asking the question.

"So, what exactly are we supposed to be testing? All anyone's told us is that it's some special new way to play pokemon. And how'd we specifically get chosen, because obviously it's from across the globe with both professionals and amateurs." He made it a point to use the two distinctions neutrally. Even though he was the current UK national champion for almost a full decade now, he suffered no delusions. He knew there was always someone better.

((Translations smile )
"Septic" = American
"The Sweeney = basically the cops
"Bollocks" = nonsense, ridiculous
"Barney" = trouble

Btw, Cockney slang as it's called is basically slang based on a phrase based on a rhyme. "For instance, "face" would be replaced by "boat," because face rhymes with "boat race." Similarly "feet" becomes "plates" ("plates of meat"), and "money" is "bread" (a very common usage, from "bread and honey")." Source: This place Just to clear that up.

Meiko stood quietly outside the limo as she glanced around to the others who arrived before her. The pink haired... boy didn't seem familiar to her. With him was a dark skinned girl Mei found strangely familiar, but at the same time not. But from where? And lastly was another boy who didn't seem to be too familiar to her. But she was sure it would come to her in time. After all, she had met various people from chat rooms and forums. Only one or two she had Skyped or exchanged emails with. Seeing how the others were keeping to themselves, she decided to do the same

Hearing movement inside the limo, she noticed two boys were already in the car, one seemingly starting to get out. The second, she assumed was a boy, anyway. It was a bit difficult to tell from their long hair. When the other got out, she realized he seemed a bit familiar. Although she couldn't put her finger on it. Hearing his name made her think she knew him even more.

It didn't seem to take long until the next tester, another boy with dark hair and glasses had approached the vehicle. Seeing his glasses, she reached up and touched her face lightly, noticing her own glasses were off her face. A flash of internal panic struck her. Where did she put them? Her hand reached into her bag and felt the smooth case she usually used. That helped her to relax. She didn't like them, but she did need her glasses from time to time. It would have been terrible to have left them in New York. Hearing the boy's question, she gave a tiny nod in answer. Although he didn't seem to be talking to any one in particular, she thought it was a nice thing to do at least.

After a little while, more and more people came. Three more boys: to arrive was a boy with noticeably blue eyes. He had introduced himself as Angelo. The next boy, one with blonde hair and a lovely accent, seemed to know a few people gathered around the limo. It was interesting to hear him greet them all. Well, all except the pink haired boy. They seemed to harbor some animosity towards one another. At least from him he knew the dark skinned girl was named Tasha. A small spark of recognition made her realize she did know her. The girl seemed a bit.. different than the girl she had chatted with over forums and emails. Another girl arrived shortly after, who was noticeably Hawaiian and seemingly very friendly. Mei had heard the Hawaiian say her name was Noa. The last boy she saw walking towards the vehicle had dark hair in an interesting style.

When the pink haired boy spoke up, Mei was surprised when she heard Japanese come from his mouth. He didn't look Japanese. Perhaps he took a class. It made sense, since they were in Japan. He seemed to know quite a few people. Same with a few people there. It dawned on her she did know Yuki from somewhere. She had gotten a few Pokemon from him herself. Making a mental note to thank him, she decided to take the opportunity to introduce herself as well. Why not?

"Hi, my name is Meiko Hime. Or Mei is fine. Nice to meet you all." She said to no one directly. A hint of shyness had gotten to her from being surrounded by so many familiar yet strange people. Deciding to say one more thing, she glanced at Yuki and gave him a kind smile. "Pokemon shite itadaki arigatōgozaimasu. O ai dekite, ureshīdesu." She said, using the Japanese she had learned when she lived in Shibuya with her parents. Afterwards, she relaxed into silence again and listened to the others chatter. At least she had given her thanks, and her own introduction.

She had arrived, late, but, that was expected when her mom chattered away on the phone like some girl in highschool. Bad enough was when she did get there, some fool bumped into her and got their drink all over her new dress, “Baka! Sono doresu wa watashi no o nīchan karadatta!” She shouted angrily, even as the person profusely apologized. She held up her head, crossing her arms before huffing and shaking her head. Ren wasn't that mean, but, damnit, the dress meant something to her. With a quick turn on her heels, the girl grabbed her Pikachu shoulder bag and stalked off, her other bag over her shoulders.

O nīchan!” She called, looking around before shaking her head, brushing out her dyed hair from her face. Well, he was supposed to be here. Was she late? She shook her head, quickly scurrying until she saw a familiar back of someone's head. She smirked, stood straight and walked towards him. She stood behind him, staring blankly before reaching over and poking the small of his back. A quick step back, and Ren was waiting, patiently, “Hey. I'm looking for a guy, this tall, your color hair, ever seen em?” She inquired, in English with her accent.

Her eyes trailed off to await his reaction, subconsciously trying to dry the wetness off her dress, pouting again before looking at a few familiar faces. She smiled and put a playful finger to her lips, then looked back to Jasper. “Y'ello.” She sighed, shaking her head, then stepped around and stood within his view. Her teal eyes looked up at Jasper's face, then turned to the others and gave a semi-polite bow, “Hello. I'm Miyamoto, Ren. Pleasure to meet and re-meet everyone!” She had to be somewhat friendly. At least she knew most of the people here.

Jasper felt the tap, heard the once voice that he could have picked out of a crowd of a thousand. And that's what he did. He knew it was Ren almost before she started speaking. As he looked into those big teal eyes, he answered her as sternly as he could...but since this was Ren, that didn't go over. Like, at all. We're talking total and complete crash and burn. He was overjoyed to see her in a way that sometimes causes people to think they were boyfriend and girlfriend rather than simply two exceedingly close friends.

"Anata no nīsan wa anata o shinpai shite, koko de matteita. Naze anata wa Ren-chan, okureta?" The difference between his English and his Japanese was like the difference between night and day. While his English had a smooth and refined grace, his Japanese took that accent and twisted it into something of almost unreal and seemingly impossible beauty. Friends and family used to joke that when he spoke Japanese, it was as if an angel had replaced his vocal chords. "Guys, this is Ren Miyamto. My imōto so to speak. She's been like a baby sister to me since she was a baby, and I taught her everything she knows about Pokemon." It was like he was a different person entirely. And then he saw the stain. "Ren-chan, your dress. What happened? Nevermind, I'll get it cleaned for you when we get home. Could you do me a favor? You know what I like...and get yourself something too." He finished, holding out the money to the teenager and not Angelo anymore. In truth, he almost didn't need to say anything because it had become almost a ritual with them whenever they attended any sort of convention or tournament.

-- Kansai International Airport / Jasper, Tasha, Noa, Emir, Meiko, Ren, Strange People (no name-face recognition) / Excited, Nervous / Sated --

When Angelo arrived, looking somewhat frazzled but nevertheless cheery, Yuki smile at him as well. "Hello; nice to meet you," he greeted, bowing his head. "My name is Yuki Minami Kyohara. You might know me as either a rare Pokémon trader or as a prominent Japanese battler. I hope you also enjoy your time in Kyoto, my home." Mentally, he congratulated himself on this successful Western introduction. Maybe he was finally getting the hang of this!

Then another blonde man appeared, and Yuki tilted his head curiously, adjusting his glasses to get a better look. He thought he recognized the newcomer from somewhere… As a leading Japanese battler himself—though not the top yet—he vaguely recalled seeing Jasper’s name on one of the leaderboards. Judging by his accent, it was probably a United Kingdom board. Though his build was vaguely Japanese, his height and European features were decidedly foreign; the combination confused Yuki for a moment. Since English was not his first language and he had literally been educated out of the book, the poor Kyoto native also had no idea what any of the other’s slang meant. “Konnichiwa, Wakahisa Jasper,” he replied, forgetting to reverse the other’s name in his confusion. “I am sorry… but what does ‘bootlegger’ mean?” He cast a curious glance at the suitcases Jasper had--particularly the multiply padlocked one--but though he wished to know what was inside, he also did not feel comfortable enough with this relative stranger to ask him directly. He did wonder, though, how in the world Nintendo was going to let that thing past security... As the blonde referenced two of the others in turn, Yuki studied them, trying to match their faces to their names. So the Indian woman, who had only appeared to be dozing, was named Tasha, and was the pink-haired man’s name… Diva? That didn’t make any sense at all… Nor did "Diva" seem to enjoy Jasper's words, for his own reply was equally venom-laced.

Shortly later, another girl came running up to them, her tanned face, framed by her bouncing brown locks, glowing with excitement and joy. Yuki turned at the sound of footsteps, and he began to smile, for of everyone assembled, he recognized Noa easiest. After all, the ambitious girl had latched onto him on Pokémon Stadium shortly after his incredible debut on it and had practically demanded he teach her how to battle. “Konnichiwa, Noa—!” His greeting was prematurely terminated by her friendly slap on his back. Startled by the unexpected move, Yuki abruptly retracted the hand he had just used to shake her hand and coughed into it for a moment before gazing at the Hawaiian in surprise for a second. Was this another way Americans greeted each other? He had never been taught this one in class—indeed, he had only seen it a handful of times in his semester in California! Yuki decided to assume that it was a greeting—Noa had no reason to do otherwise—and inclined his head towards her. “It is good to finally meet you as well, Noa,” he answered with a smile. “How are your battles going? Much better now, I hope?”

Then, a spiky black-haired, blue-haired man came running in, apologizing for his lateness. Lacking any ideas as to who he was—and having not been provided the answer in an introduction—Yuki could barely nod as the newcomer leaned over to catch his breath. And then, the tall, pink-haired male accepted his hand and spoke to him—in Japanese, no less! Yuki gazed at the man in awe and pleasure, but before he could rush headlong into his own Japanese, he--Emir--added that his Japanese was not very good. Internally, the Japanese boy sighed; outwardly, he still maintained the same bright smile he had greeted all of these others with, though it was faltering a little from weariness. "Ah, Kouri Emiru-desu! Daijōbu. Arigatō to hajimemashite," he replied. Only after the words exited his mouth did he remember that Emir had said that he did not speak Japanese well. "Emir-san! It's alright that you do not speak my language. That was very good for a non-native. Thank you and nice to meet you," he translated, sounding almost as if he were sighing at the end. So much English in one day! Honestly, it was all quite taxing... Another glance at Emir's salmon-colored hair, and he was struck by a sudden impulse to ask the taller man if he cosplayed. Perhaps an effeminate Grell? But, as with Jasper and his suitcase, the Japanese boy did not feel comfortable enough with the Egyptian to ask.

Tasha raised an eyebrow at him then, asking, “So that was you?” Yuki nodded at her, but she didn’t seem to notice it, instead mumbling something under her breath. Yuki frowned; what little of it he had caught was incomprehensible to him, but he had no time to process it between her additional obscure references--Ōya; Americans and their slang!--her admission of her inability to comprehend Japanese, and Jasper’s assurance to the black-and-blue stranger that he wasn’t late. It seemed that no one else knew his name, either. Yuki resolved to retrieve the names from his letter later today, if only so that he could properly greet everyone. The blonde continued, asking what they were all to be testing and how they had been chosen to test in the first place. Yuki’s smile broadened—finally, something he could answer! Vivacity returned to him as he beamed at them all. “We have all been chosen to test Nintendo’s new virtual reality system!” he readily supplied. “Okäsan told me that we would all be testing Pokettomonsutā Burakku to Howaito on these systems either late this evening or next morning. As to why we are all here…” Yuki furrowed his brow. “Gomen'nasai. Okäsan only told me that Nintendo chose us all ‘based on our potential’. Okäsan works for Nintendo; that is why I even know that much,” he added with a happy smile. As proud as he was to have a parent working for the largest game company in the world, his statement also implicitly revealed how he had come to obtain all of the rare Pokémon that he had traded to some of the assembled party.

More Japanese came at him from his right, and Yuki turned to see that it was the green-haired Asian girl who spoke it now. Now that he looked at her more closely, he could indeed see that she was of Japanese descent. How had he missed it before? “Meiko-san, dō itashimashite,” he replied, inclining his head slightly. “Amarini hajimemashite,” The Japanese boy was glad to see that someone appreciated the Pokémon he had sent out to the world. It always felt good to be helping someone out.

Another girl ran up then, a teal-haired girl with eyes the same and an unsightly stain on her dress. Yuki frowned at it for the one instant he could see it, but she turned away from him to run straight up to the blonde-haired man and ask him a question. Now Yuki was even more confused. Why was she asking Jasper to find someone who looked just like him? American customs were so strange sometimes… Not only that, she seemed to pay an inordinate amount of attention to him when there were several other people in the immediate vicinity. The Japanese boy frowned when she finally turned around to greet them all. Her politeness was remarkably delayed for someone who looked and sounded like a Japanese Miku fan... Even stranger was the fact that Jasper responded to her in Japanese that, other than his lingering English accent, closely enough approximated native Japanese that Yuki could have mistaken him for one had he heard that first! Of the five people he had been introduced to, three of them spoke some form of Japanese! Yuki glanced at the other boys, silent or sleeping, and wondered if they also spoke Japanese. What a relief it would be to fall back into his native language. He could get a headache from trying to understand so much English at once. Jasper introduced the teal-haired girl as Ren Miyamoto—a statement that confirmed her own belated introduction. He referred to her as Ren-chan, though… Were these two brother and sister? They didn’t look at all alike… Yuki frowned at the two, wondering how this could be, but the blonde Briton cleared it up for him and the rest promptly enough, so he merely smiled politely at Ren and shook her hand, offering it to Jasper as well now that he could actually understand the man. “Yuki Minami Kyohara; nice to meet you,” he told her, loudly enough that hopefully the black-and-blue latecomer could hear. Stepping back to regard Meiko, Emir, Ren, and Jasper at once, he added, "I am surprised that you all can speak Japanese! What part of Japan are you or your parents from?" To Emir, he gave a grateful smile, nonverbally thanking him for his efforts to speak to him in his native tongue. Once he figured out where these three hailed from, to understand Japanese and respond in kind, he would ask the other for more information on California. Yuki had visited in the summer, when its fabled sun was at its best, and had always waned to return.

When Life gives you lemons, you make lemonade
.•°•.•°•.•°•.•°•.•°•.•°•.•°•.•°•
Being able to regain his sleeping schedule, Nando has opened his eyes to take a look at everyone. He had noticed that there were a lot of people, but it gave reason to why it grew so loud. He stared at the British guy whom seemed to be addressing a few people, including the Native American girl whom is named Tasha, and also a disdain look at the diva. He, although believed people can defend themselves, puts his hands up. "I may be a smart-aleck for a second there gentleman but I suggest not making enemies on the first day, regardless if his tastes are a bit disdainful and offish. Trust me, I made so much back in Texas it was not funny, just enjoy your time here and be happy." He then opens his eyes wide, now fully awake. He then looked at the 'Diva' named Emir, realizing he spoke Japanese: "Ā! Watashi mo nihongo o hanasu! Watashi wa sukoshi yoku gengo o rikainode, watashi wa sū-nen no tame ni koko ni sunde ita."

Since living in Hiroshima he had to deal with a good year and a half on writing, speaking, and reading the language. It was hard, but he had to prepare for it before they had even moved to Japan! So it was a little tough but it went well in the end....especially when Nando has been addressed as the 'good-looking' Inuyasha which made no sense to him until he watched the Anime. I never had white hair...or yellow eyes.... He thought but shrugs his shoulders.

"Alright then! My turn! I am Nando Marcus Erebus. Some of you might have known me as Marcus! But I had my name changed legally since it is the worst name! I am italian so I chose a proper name.... I am the vice-president of the gamer club and also am an expert on gaming designing, ventriloquism and also the paranormal. But trust me, I am usually a relaxed person....I hate set schedules." He then turned his words to Japanese for the poor blue hair boy with glasses: "Sorekara daijōbu! Watashi no ban! Watashi wa nandomākasuerebasudesu. Minasan no nakaniha mākasu to shite watashi o shitte iru kamo shiremasen! Shikashi, watashi wa sore ga saiaku no namaedearu tame, watashi no namae o fusei ni henkō sa reta! Watashi wa, watashi wa gēmākurabu no fuku kaichōda. ... Tekisetsuna namae o sentaku shi, mata, gēmu no sekkei, fukuwajutsu mo chō tsune genshō no senmonkadesu Itaria-godesu. Shikashi, watashi o shinjite, watashi wa setto no sukejūru o kirai. ... Tsūjō wa rirakkusu hitodesu."

He then rested his arms behind his head, taking note of the Native American girl's WTF look. "Trust me, I will only speak Japanese if necessary...for now I will speak in English unless it suits everyone well." He was more talkative than normal but he decided to do so because everyone else did it, so interjecting in conversations is alright.......right? He then cocks his head at Yuki's explanation about the game they will be doing. "Ah! A virtual reality game...or MMORPG! Those games are very popular! But be warned...I am a BIG critique when it comes to Game Designing and Animation....so I will try to find a few flaws with it." He then translate it to Japanese:

"`Ā ! Bācharuriaritigēmu... Matawa MMORPG!Node, watashi wa mitsukeyou to shimasu. ... Korera no gēmu wa hijō ni ninki ga arimasu! Shikashi, soreha gēmudezain to animēshon ni naru to keikoku shita koto ga··· watashi wa ōkina hihanda Soreni wa ikutsu ka no kekkan." He then yawns. "Geez, I talked too much......now I am dying for some nice miso soup..." He mumbled, realizing he had not even ate food since waking up. "Uuuugh, I hate an empty stomach." He wraps his arm around his stomach, groaning slightly as he kind of wants food now. "And by the way Yuki. Bootlegger is a person who makes or sells illegal liquor. But technically, he is referring to you as someone who gives him stuff illegally." He decided not to translate to Japanese because he had already talked too much.

.•°•.•°•.•°•.•°•.•°•.•°•.•°•.•°•

When videogames give you an extra life, you make noise!

Translations (Order from top to bottom)

1. Ah! I speak Japanese too! I lived here for a couple of years so I understand the language a bit better.

Nando’s efforts to translate everything he said into Japanese for him amused and touched Yuki. It was clearly a strenuous effort on his part, so he decided to relieve the other Japanese of his nobly self-imposed duty. “Arigatō, Nando-san, but you do not need to translate everything for my sake,” he told him with a smile. “Nor did you need to re-introduce yourself to me; we have already done that in the limo. It would be best for me to learn the language on my own and make my own mistakes.” The long-haired boy’s reaction to his clarification of this event’s purpose also amused him. “Nando-san, most of what I mentioned is on the letter we were all given. Only the how behind how we were all chosen to attend this event is omitted from the letter, and even I do not know how Nintendo chose to unite us. Okäsan has told me nothing, and she is their employee… While it is a beta-testing event that we are attending, do try not to critique everything about it, though,” the bespectacled Japanese added with a small frown. “Flaws are to be expected, but it would reflect badly on us to find too many…” Though he sympathized with his companion’s hunger, Yuki lacked food to provide him with—other than Naoko’s bento box, which, unfortunately, wasn’t made for sharing…

Nando’s explanation of the term bootlegger shocked Yuki, and his smile became more strained. Was that truly what Jasper thought of his Pokémon?! Every one of them was legitimate! He had worked hard to attend every event at his mother’s workplace and at various Pokémon Centers across Japan to obtain those Pokémon! … Granted, he had only managed to get enough to trade by cloning, but in a country where PokéGen was rampant, Yuki did not consider that to be illegal… Was that what Jasper had meant? Perhaps it would be best to let him clarify instead. In the meantime, his attempts to make conversation with Meiko, Emir, Ren, and Jasper had thus far gone unanswered.

Quickly Tyler had realized his mistake in forgetting to introduce himself to the group,"My name is Tyler by the way. Sorry about forgetting that, I suppose I still have a bit of jet lag from the ride."he said with a slight smile. He noticed that a lot of people were speaking Japenese, 'Dang, I knew I should've studied harder in school' he thought as he remembered his school days and him almost flunking his foreign language class.'At least he doesn't seem to care much about it he thought with a sigh.

"Because friends are everywhere!"

Movement from beyond the group caught Meiko's attention and she glanced over to see a girl with blue black hair stop behind Jasper. A moment later, the girl introduced herself as Ren Miyamoto. Out of politeness, Mei offered a kind smile and slight incline of her head in greeting, deciding to introduce herself later. It appeared Ren and Jasper knew each other. Jasper's explanation helped put the pieces together. They seemed close, at least from what she could tell. She smiled a bit seeing it, reminding her of the guys back in the base. They were like family to her.

A question made Mei turn back towards Yuki. Seeing how the others hadn't answered him, she decided to.
"Oh! I actually lived about half a year in Shibuya when I was young. I lived in Okinawa as well, in an army base. My father's in the army, so we don't stay in one place for too long." She added, as if in explanation as to why she had traveled a bit and to why she was in a base to begin with. "So I've had to learn quite a few languages to be able to live in other places. And my mother is Japanese, which is a plus. She grew up in Aichi."

Hearing another voice speak Japanese, she noticed the long haired boy had started speaking. Nando, formally Marcus. She wondered if she'd heard the name before. The boy's Japanese was quite impressive as well. Although, she assumed he lived in Japan since he had been in the limo from the start. She could sympathize with the empty stomach comment. Hunger was starting to get to her as well, having nothing to eat besides a bit of a granola bar she had found in her purse while on the plane.

Hearing the last boy introduce himself as Tyler, she gave him a tiny smile and small dip of the head in greeting, much like she did with Ren. It was only polite.

Seeing a hand being held out to her, she reached over and shook it, "Sore wa anata o mitasu tame ni Kyohara-san wa hijō ni ureshīdesu!" She greeted, giving a small bow before standing straight. She looked at the others, taking in stock of who all was there. Not many she really recognized off the bat, not from memory anyways. She looked back to Yuki, but finally turned to respond to Jasper.

"Watashi wa, jasupā-kun gomen'nasai! Watashi ga chikoku suru wakede wa arimasendeshita!" A puff of the cheeks before she blew the air out and sighed, "Okāsan was chatting away to her friends and kept getting onto me for trying to rush her." She rubbed the back of her head and blinked, reaching over to take the money then looked at him, "Hai." She turned to the others, excusing herself before turning and walking off and to the snack machines.

It didn't take too long for her to grab what Jasper likes and what she liked, coming back and handing Jasper not only his money, but what he usually got as well. She looked towards Yuki, just in time to hear his question, "Okāsan was born in Japan." She responded, shaking her head, "I don't remember where though." The girl responded honestly, giving a simple shrug of the shoulders as if it really didn't bother her.

Jasper had totally spaced out for a minute. He'd missed Yuki asking where they all were from. Though when he spoke Japanese, he had a distinctly Okinawan accent, he figured he could tell the guy later. Nando, as he explained what bootlegging was, was also something Jasper didn't notice until it was way past. It wasn't until Meiko spoke that he came back from wherever. Guess jet lag still had the power to hit him despite having made the trip from London to Japan many times in his life to visit family.

"Thank you Ren-chan," he said with a hand held out to basically tell her to keep the change as he took his snack and ate it quickly but without mess. A couple candy bars that also added a small kick of energy and a can of bubble-gum flavored carbonated milk. And then he remembered that he still needed to answer Yuki. Where were his manners? I mean, the rest of these chumps were essentially filler but Yuki was someone who, like Jasper, truly lived and breathed the game. He directed his answer, then. "Watashinohaha wa Okinawa kara no monodearu. Kanojo wa dono yō ni nihongo ga hanaseru yō ni oshiete kureta." Since he was explaining this to a guy who wasn't very good with English, Jasper figured it was best to explain in Japanese. He could switch back and forth without even having to try.

Jasper shifted his weight a bit. Despite being used to it, he really didn't like having to wear this bleeding handcuff all the time. He had to get rid of it. "Ren-chan, I need to stretch my wrist a bit. Can I trust you with these?" he asked his better half, holding up the case so she could see it. In all the years she'd been at his side at tournaments and conventions and other events, he'd never even let her touch the briefcase, but he'd shown her the cards inside once. Only once, so that she'd understand just how valuable the case was. As he asked, he had a very faint but very sly grin. He'd been trying to figure out a way to do this for months now, and this seemed the perfect chance. At the same time, he reached into a shirt pocket for the one and only key to the handcuffs.

((Translations smile )
"Watashinohaha wa Okinawa kara no monodearu. Kanojo wa dono yō ni nihongo ga hanaseru yō ni oshiete kureta." = "My mother is from Okinawa. She taught me how to speak Japanese."

In the few seconds that Cole had spent zoned out he had missed pretty much everything that had gone on between the members of the group. Even when he did manage to focus back in he couldn't remember any faces or names for that matter. Did he even know these people? Any of these people? They all seemed to know each other at least a little bit, he would have to check later... Cole could of sworn they're personalities matched up, but he just couldn't put the faces to the name. Which was a little surprising to him, given how they were all so different.

Anyways, as stated before, Cole was very confused. Had they moved? Were they still in front of the airport or were they somewhere entirely different? Cole tried to take a look around but his panicked mind just made everything blurry. Everything but the people in front of him. He was feeling a headache come on and wanted to groan, knowing that it would take him figuring out where he was for it to go away. Until then he would wait for it to come back to him, listening in on the group conversation and introductions and such. Who was he again?

((Sorry its kinda short, not too much to say yet... sweatdrop ))

SPEAKING THINKING Emir glanced at Itzel as she addressed him before shrugging. “Just the basics really. Less than a full semester.” He answered. Of course, he’d heard most Japanese people could say some words in English but that didn’t guarantee any help to him if he ever lost his way. His head swiveled back to the green haired teen that had arrived almost as early as he had. She finally introduced herself and though it sounded a bit quiet he still registered her name. He made a note, trying to keep track of all of them before listening to the Asian language spill out of the girl’s mouth. /Tons of actual Japanese kids was to be expected…/ he reminded himself feeling all to American. He perked up hearing a new voice, turning to watch as Ren immediately directed her efforts to teasing the blonde. “Emir.” He said to Ren, tiring of his own name for once. These introductions were really starting to get old for him. The model watched in surprise at the brit suddenly transformed, his attitude doing a 180 before rolling his eyes at the repetition. “I heard her the first time, Union Jack.” He stated flatly not really caring about what the relationship was between the pair. He could already tell by looking at them.

He then let out a sudden laugh as Jasper immediately tried sending her off to retrieve his drink that he wasn’t capable of getting himself. “Christ, this kid’s rich enough to import his own lapdog.” The model said to no one in particular, before turning back to Yuki. He had zoned out for a moment watching the last of the stragglers arrive. Oops. But it wasn’t that big of a deal. Yuki was trying to be a good Japanese host after all. Dealing with multiple people was to be expected. Emir nodded in understanding before stating, “I could say the same thing about your English.” The model could only grin, catching a slight frown breaking through Yuki’s friendly façade as Ren’s focus on the blonde. He perked up at Yuki’s question before shaking his head and letting the other’s respond. “I just had some friends who are Japanese. I’m from L.A., right next door to Hollywood.” The young man explained, putting his hands on his pockets and leaning against the limo. He returned the sudden smile, wondering if he should tell the kid he’d thought it would have been a simple courtesy to bother learning something in Japanese.

But then again, the kid was already going to go through some culture shock with their crew. He didn’t need to say anything else. His eyes narrowed as he heard Nando attempt to ease the tension between him and Jasper. “Listen here kid, don’t get involved in something that doesn’t concern you. Your lack of tact isn’t gonna do you any favors.” He snapped. Nosy kid. He wouldn’t take abuse from some grease head that couldn’t even afford a decent haircut. He paused, his irritation with the boy only growing as Nando spoke in a language he barely grasped. “zenzen wakarimashita.” the model said quickly before tuning out any more of what the kid attempted to convey in Japanese. /You speak a few words and everyone thinks you’re bilingual./ he thought, still a bit miffed at what he understood to be Nando’s utter cluelessness. His interest was piqued at the mention of paranormal. “Paranormal expertise in what way?” he asked before, yet again tuning out the rest of the boy’s Japanese.

Looking for something he could understand he focused on Tyler’s introduction before offering a polite nod. “Most people here are suffering from it.” He replied. They all really needed an adrenaline kick. Waiting around outside an airport would only worsen everyone’s state. Even if Emir had gotten some sleep and a soda he doubted he’d be fine for the rest of the day if it was- well this. Though he guessed if they were such a large group then speed was bound to go down. To be honest, some of these testers looked like they hadn’t seen the light of day. He didn’t want to even think about running around with them either. A flash of panic shot through Emir as he imagined the slow, painful movement of this group. Kids wheezing, whining, complainning. The pinkette pushed away the thought. Surely he could roam on his own if he wished right? He was a young adult they couldn’t possibly- /Now’s not the time, Emir./ he thought not wanting to think anymore of problems that he could deal with later. However, now he was starting to wish he’d bought water instead of soda. “An army brat then. Cool.” He mused having caught the last of Mei’s explanation. He’d met a few in his lifetime. It was an interesting lifestyle but he was a bit glad he didn’t have it. He liked California, moving away sounded painful.

When Ren returned with Jasper’s order he snickered once more. Emir just couldn’t help it. A totally exclusive event and somehow Richie Rich’s labradoodle had been selected for it. It was such a great coincidence really, he highly doubted it was one. And that was the beauty of it because he now would be able to watch master and pet for his entire stay. He took a good look at everyone present. Where was Eric? Was he buying everyone breakfast?! “It’ll be noon by the time we get out of here.” He mumbled fishing the phone out of his pocket and checking the time once more. He could understand waiting a bit for everyone to land but he was starting to reach his limit. He was anxious to get a good, steamy shower in and wear something more appropriate for Japan’s chilly weather. Taking a peek inside the limo he noted one rather lost looking kid still inside. He’d been in just as quickly as Emir had. “I don’t believe you’ve said anything yet, squirt?” The model asked, ready to take note of Cole’s identity.

When Life gives you lemons, you make lemonade
.•°•.•°•.•°•.•°•.•°•.•°•.•°•.•°•
Nando furrowed his eyes toward the 'diva' as Jasper had called him. He normally was calm but this time, since he got somewhat of lack of sleep, he felt somewhat cranky. "Geez, was only trying to be nice." He then flicks his hair back, now wishing his Mom would let him take a shower or at least a decency of putting it up in a ponytail. He could feel the guy's irritation which made the Native American girl sigh: "A lot of us just came out from a long airplane ride, so most of us are cranky. Most of us sat at the airplane for more than 10 hours. He's cranky as well as you." Even though it would sound like another person annoyed with Nando, she was only trying to put out there nicely that the 'guy' is just cranky from a long trip. For that Nando nodded. "By the way....why do you have long hair?"

"Why?" He touches his red hair slightly, shrugging. "I always have been mistaken as a girl....even with short hair. So what is the point in trying to look like a guy? So I let it grow out, and it kind of gives me an excuse to take nice hot showers sometimes. Otherwise, I kind of have no reasons." He shrugs it off as then the "Diva' decided to tell him on what kind of Paranormal Expertise....great...was this some sort of pop quiz that everyone hid from him? Now he rather stay home and help his Grandma out.

"I thought you don't want me to get involved?" He says in a calm tone which might piss someone off in the wrong way but sighs: "Well, There are many ways ghosts are stuck in places: One is past events like murder....and they want their side of the story told. Two is they feel connected to that place; either like a childhood home, where their best memory is kept, or just where they have died. Three, is if something has been taken away from them....like if someone stole something that reminded you of home, you will haunt someone until that item is taken back to its rightful owner. And Four, is if a home or a piece of property has been suddenly changed by new owners, and it's something the past owner does not like.

"Also the hauntings can be residential or intellectual: residential hauntings are like looking back in the past, how someone lived before they died. Or Intellectual is where they are fully aware of where they are, so they end up interacting with many things. There are also different types of ghosts: Ghostly Mists are substance that oozed from spirit mediums during a séance from days gone by. It has been speculated that the spirit will transform to this vaporous state before appearing as a full-bodied apparition.

Then there are Orbs which are hard to capture because sometimes the camera makes up 'spots' which might have people thinking it's an authentic ghosts but fake. But if you do catch one, The orbs are believed by many to be the soul or spirit (human & animal) of those that have passed on from this life, not having enough energy to turn ti a full-bodied apparation...OR from what I have read, they could be nature spirits. Most especially tree spirits. They are said to come out particularly at night when the tree is at rest and return when they are needed.

"I rather not get to much detail right now so I'll just say the title: There are Vortex, Funnel Ghosts...Shadow ghost/dark entities that bring harm to people, disembodied spirits...or apparations, Ghost lights, streaming ghost energy, rods/swimmer ghosts, energy/light rod ghosts, Demons like Energy Vampires and Crowd Demons, Poltergeist ghosts, and if your lucky: A visiting angel....but angels are rare to find...only coming if they feel like you deserve a second chance in life."
He knew he would get confused looks but he did not care at this point, he was used to hanging out alone unless with his club members...which he is a vice-president of.

After hearing the 'diva' talk, Nando now starts to wonder if this guy is more of an a-hole than the rich Britain boy. The Richboy did ask someone to give him a soda....but Nando's mother does it to him all the time...it was normal to do so. And not to mention the richboy gave extra money to the girl so she can get herself something......and that was considered a lapdog? Hey, Nando doesn't like rich people but he gets peeved when people always fit into the stereotypes no matter what. He then frowns slightly, his red eyes vert to the window, watching cars pass by to get to whatever destination it was they wanted to go to. "Maybe I should've just stayed home." He mumbled, feeling a little down but he knew once they got to Nintendo's HQ, he'll feel better.

--------------------------------------------------------------------

Cole wasn't expecting the....well.....odd(ish) guy to say something to him. But was more then grateful when everything flashed back. His vision returned and the slight pain in his head faded as he quickly got out of the limo, fairly certain he was the only one still sitting inside. He took a quick glance around and smiled a little, giving a slight wave. "Uh...well...Cole Brunel.....uh....I think I might've done some poke-breeding for a few of you...my memories not too great when it comes to that kind of thing." He said with a slight chuckle as he placed a hand on the back of his neck.

Breeding wasn't really a 'specialty' of his, it was just something he was so used to doing in game that it became pretty easy for him. Not to mention he was pretty lucky with stats, abilities, and shinies. It wasn't really a 'skill' per say. Cole just put a good amount of time into it, almost always having at least three eggs in his party at one time. Cole snapped himself back from his thoughts and refocused. Some of the faces were coming back to him a little bit now. He stuck his hands in his pockets and pinched his leg through his pocket to wake himself up so he stopped zoning out. It usually worked pretty well and he was counting on it for this. And, luckily, in a few seconds the haze cleared from his vision. He had finally gotten over those three days of no sleeps and was feeling pretty good now, holding a much warmer smile now, which he managed to give to everyone in the group at least once.

Then Cole noticed something that he had actually missed before. Some people were speaking Japanese sometimes weren't they? He didn't know if his mind had translated it for him, or if his head was making things up for what they said, but figured it was probably in his best interest to go with what he knew. And what he knew was that he had never taken a class or even attempted to learn Japanese, something that Cole figured he should of at least tried to do before he left for Japan. But there were a few native Japanese in there group right? Not to mention that they had a guide right now.

((OoC I think I got everyone quoted...if I didn't get someone let me know! Please? Maybe? A little?))
