He smiled at her as she reached for him. "Of course, we can decide later." Which really wasn't much deciding because he already planned on the training grounds.

***Food Happened***
"So," Sherry said in the tone of someone at the end of their tale, "I get to sit behind a counter for most of the day tomorrow, and the day after." She sighed as they left the cafeteria. "I'm almost sad it'll be boring."
Her hand found Jake's as she led them along. They'd discussed trivial things like the crazy weather of recent, the need to fill out mission reports, and the lack of variety at the day's lunch. Sherry figured it was time to broach more serious subjects. "So, how is it having Chester back? Is he all settled in and caught up?"

"Maybe, but at least you're safe. You've been through enough excitement lately." He smiled and gave her hand a small squeeze, careful to avoid her scar, and then have a nod as she mentioned the weather. Perhaps it was a good thing they got those Titan patrols done before it hit, and were off the island during the brunt of it, but those were memories he wanted to put behind him.
"It's... been ok. It almost feels surreal to have a voice in my head now." Chester made the mental equivalent of rolling his eyes.

Sherry rolled her own eyes. "As have you." There was almost always excitement of one form or another in their line of work. But then she laughed. "Not as bad as jarring as the first time, I hope?" They were still meandering about, though in a direction not away from the training grounds. Sherry figured appeasing Armagnac wouldn't hurt. "And having Chester has to be better than those daggers."

"Perhaps, but I came out of it relatively unscathed." Not that... he WANTED to add more scars on him, and besides, the mission before already put him through hell. "Ha, no. It's good to have him back, honestly. And yah, it's good to not have to worry about the death lead being at my throat for them." Of course, the death lead being at ANYONE's throat for anything was a different matter, but at least it didn't seem to concern him for the time being."
Even though they were somewhat meandering about, he had taken note of the general direction they were heading in. While he was happy it was somewhat towards the training grounds, he wondered if it would be rather tactless of him to ask, especially after everything. Still, he promised to be truthful, and he had a feeling Sherry would still insist anyways.
"So, um, it's been a while since I got Chester back, and some things... changed. I don't suppose you want to..."

"I, for one, and glad you came out of it alright. And with Chester, too." She squeezed his hand, and unconsciously clung to his arm a bit. "All worth it." Nobody died, and no one was getting executed. She could breath easy about that, at least.
"Changed?" Sherry stopped their walking, and took a step back to look at him. Other than the fact that Chester was mad at her, Sherry wasn't entirely sure what Jake was talking about. "What's changed?"

Well, yah, he supposed that was a good thing. After constant missions of him screwing SOMETHING up, it was kind of nice to see something turn out well. Or... relatively well. He still felt bad he put Sherry through that ordeal, and needed to find a way to make it up to her.
"Oh, he..." He paused, and seeming to get confirmation from Chester, summoned his weapons. No longer the bladed tonfas he once held, they were now arm blades, attached to the outside if his forearm and extending slightly past his elbow.

Sherry stared. Her first instinct had been to reach out and touch, that's how shocked she was. She knew better, though, so she didn't. She DID leaned in to get a closer look at the new Chester. "Wow." An image flashed in her mind, and she remembered catching a glimpse of Chester when Jake had taken out the skeleton. She remembered little more than color and runes, though. This, this was... "Wow," she said again. "I imagine he functions much the same?" She looked up at Jake. "As a weapon, I mean."

He took her surprise to be a good reaction, though he wasn't quite sure. At first he was also puzzled, not understanding why they had taken such a drastic change. He remembered they had changed also when he had become an intermediate trainee, but not to such a degree. Chester had explained he was exposed to sometimes had something to do with it, and considering he had done so many titan patrols...
"Um, relatively the same. It's nice that I have my hands free to hold stuff, and I think the gist of it is the same, just that the force of the attack is more focused on my arm than hand."
He swung his arm a couple times, as if getting a feel for it. "A little heavier too."

Armagnac rumbled while Sherry listened to Jake's explanations.
"Huh. Interesting." She watched him swing his arm. "But yeah, I'm up for some practice, if that's what you were asking about. Armagnac says I need some." She left out the part where Armagnac thought the fight might not be quite fair, if Jake wasn't used to the change yet. But Sherry had faith in Jake, so she wasn't overly worried about that.
"She's been itching for me to bring her down here anyway." The glaive was summoned. Sherry hadn't necessarily planned on a spar, but it couldn't hurt. For any of them. Turning, Sherry led them the last few steps to a decent spot on the grounds.

Unfortunately for Armagnac, he had at least another spar before this, though it was one where he didn't really get to use Chester to his full potential. This time though, things would be different, so if the lindwyrm was hoping for an easy win, she'd be sorely mistaken.
"I figured," he laughed, following after her. "How'd things go after I left?"

Sherry blinked at him. "After? Well, I... I found your gift. Th..thank you." Crap, she was blushing. She wondered if she should tell him what she remembered, her free hand running over the heart hanging on her chest. Once she'd quit crying, while she sat and looked over the earrings again, a memory had come back to her. A precious memory she couldn't believe she'd given up. A memory he'd not remember.
"And then...I... put things away." She smiled at him, a happy smile, and hefted her weapon. "You ready?"
She didn't wait for much of an answer, on swing coming in quick.
"You all moved in?"

It wasn't... exactly what he had meant, but he didn't want to ruin the moment. He was glad, though, that she liked it, despite it being a present he meant to give her some time ago. "I'm glad you like them."
He smiled, raising his blades to strike. "Yah, there wasn't a lot of stuff to move in the first place." Not to mention... he weapon did most of the moving for him. So useless.

"I love them." She didn't know what else to say. She'd hug him...but she had just attacked him.
Armagnac was pleased to finally hit something, and Sherry was glad for that. Constant grump wasn't fun.
"That's good. It's nice having more space."
Taking a step back, Sherry swung again. It was an almost lazy swing. She wanted to chat as much as train.

Another smile, as he didn't know what to say, and attempted to find a good opening to attack, yet not hurt her at the same time. Finding one, he darted in for an attack, swinging one arm, and then pulled back. "So, um... how's Armagnac taking this whole thing?"
