Sarad glanced over, "i used to watch it with my mother, it was a good show." that was back when he was allowed to watch television, years and years ago, but it was a fond memory for him. "i haven't thought of that for a while-" he smiled as he put away the last of the books, "thank you." he stepped away and saw there was nothing else for him to help with, "if you like-" it was only proper to offer, "i could show you around a bit? since you don't really know where things are, and we don't have classes until tomorrow, today would be a good time to orient yourself. i understand if you do not wish to, I just thought i should offer."

"Practise," Sarad said with a shrug, he'd gotten used to packing and unpacking. "Oh-don't put yourself out. i've the meal plan, so you don't have to buy me lunch." the meal plan was an option where you could pay a certain amount of money and eat at any of the restaurants or at the cafeteria a certain number of times. it was usually more than enough to last him a semester so there really was no need. "thank you, though. it is very kind of you to offer." he pushed his hair back behind his ear and out of his face, the bauble falling forward as it always did to rest along his cheek. "where would you like to go to first? the cafeteria? or the market?" he blushed at the title 'leader' be seeing as he was showing Dale around, he couldn't argue it. he stepped through the door and lead the way down to the main hallway, waiting to hear where Dale wanted to go.

"Hair thing?" Sarad had long since forgotten about his bauble, he'd worn it so long he didn't notice it anymore. he softly touched the gold piece before smiling a little and lifting his chin, "i'll keep that in mind, thank you. the easiest way to the market from the dorms is this way." he lead Dale out of the front door and pointed to the path that would lead them there. "it's not too far of a walk, but we can rent bikes if you would like?" Sarad wasn't too good one a bike so he tended to walk everywhere. that didn't mean he couldn't ride one, he just didn't feel comfortable going at such a fast rate with nothing between him and the ground other than a thin strip of rubber and some metal.

Sarad was glad that Dale opted out of the bikes, it made things easier for him. "The market is just your basics, nothing too fancy. There is a grocery store, a couple for clothing, and an electronics one, if i remember right. a few of the restaurants and movie theater are in the same area, so it's a popular spot to go," which is why he didn't go often. He glanced over at the question of his bauble and smiled a little, it was to be expected, everyone asked eventually, "it was my mother's. she wore it at her wedding, it was suppose to be passed down to her first daughter, but i'm an only child, so i received it instead." he gently touched the gold ornament, "i wear it because it's as if she is here watching over me." he hoped that didn't sound too weird, he knew he was odd, but school was the only place he could wear it freely. if he wore it at any of his relation's they would grow angry with him or try to take it. "the market's just here-" they turned a corner and came to the shopping center, "the grocery store is at the end there, most people come here for lunch during school so it can get busy." there were a lot of students wandering around, meeting up with old friends to talk about how their break was and bemoan the start of the school year. "is there any place you'd like to go first?"

"later is fine!" Sarad said quickly, "you shouldn't spend your cash on me, maybe you can get me lunch after your card activates?" with school and everything, Dale would probably forget and Sarad was ok with that. "let's get you something to eat, though." he lead the way to the grocery store and picked up a basket for Dale, "there is almost everything you could need here. of course, their deli and premade food sections are quite a big larger than most stores, but that is where they get the majority of their revenue, so it makes sense." he pointed to where a good half of the store was dedicated to the deli. there were the usual island stands with sandwiches and salads, but there were also several buffet tables with various hot foods as well. "everything here is fairly good, i've only tried a little, but i liked what i've eaten. i mostly come here for the bakery." the bakery was in a corner of the deli and took up quite a bit of space itself. there were the usual assortment of handmade breads, but it was the glass case of cakes, puddings, tarts and every other sweet you could think of that Sarad visited most often.

Damn. Sarad decided to just give in, there was no winning this. he followed Dale to the deli and tried to not be overwhelmed by the flurry of questions. "Um, it depends on the type of vegetarian. some don't eat red meats and some don't eat meat at all. some don't eat anything that came from an animal and some don't eat anything that had to be killed in order to be eaten." he shrugged a little, "it just depends on the person, i guess." he looked over the selection and chose a roast beef sandwich with provolone cheese, tomatoes, lettuce, cucumbers and alfalfa sprouts. he picked up a pack of mayonnaise and mustard to go with it and held it out, "this is generally what i get when i come here." he usually got chips to place on top of the sandwich for extra crunch, but he didn't want to see gready. "what kind do you like?"

"Most of my family is some form of vegetarian, but my parents weren't." he'd grown up eating and not being allowed to eat so many different things that it was impossible for him to be just one. he blushed when Dale commented on his love for the bakery, had he been that obvious? "ah-yes, i've a fondness for baked goods. one of my weaknesses." he walked with Dale to the bakery and explained a few of the more unusual desserts offered. "my personal favorite is the white chocolate fruit tart. the filling is a white chocolate custard that is infused with vanilla and topped with various fruits. usually they have kiwi, strawberries, blueberries and occasionally blackberries on top." he pointed out the mini tarts and then pointed to a few other things that he enjoyed. "do you have any favorite desserts?"
