Nuawahn laughed again. What a fun thought. "This rock is now Amma's." he said, patting it, "It was very nice of you to have claimed it for her!" He liked it! Amma's rock! He frowned, more perplexed than upset, as Mella stood up to offer her hands to the Capramel. Whatever she was doing aside, she'd fallen before on the sand... would she fall again.

But no, she seemed to be doing just fine. He leaned in to take a look. "Its berries?" he said, surprised, "But... berries are for eating..." and yet they did stain his hands when he'd eaten them... Huh!

La'amu had settled into the sand nearby, deciding that - irregardless of the splotch on the rock - if her boy was resting she might as well rest her old bones as well.

Suddenly, stained twolegger hands were shoved in front of her face. La'amu recoiled slightly, surprised, before sniffing them with mild inquisitiveness.

They were... interesting. Sweet smelling. She lipped the hands experimentally, careful not to use her blunt teeth - two legger hands were not for chewing.

She recoiled back again. It was sweet! She huffed and licked - properly this time - the hands until they were clean.

Nuawahn giggled again. "haha! I guess she likes the paint!" his expression became thoughtful, "So, does that mean that the animals will lick the rock? Thats not very good for you! Rocks are dirty and not food." he affirmed, before breaking into a grin - it just couldn't stay off his face. "There's lots of nice berries in Jahuar! Are you gonna go there?" he asked, watching La'amu be silly.

“Berries aren’t always for eating.” Mella giggled when her hands were licked clean unable to stop herself. She moved back to the rock when her hands were cleaned. “Most animals don’t mind a little dirt here and there. Besides I made this high enough up on the rock that none of the little babies should be able to reach it and get into trouble.” Leaning against the rock she smiled at Nuawahn. “maybe someday I’ll go there.” Jahuar! Her mind actually boggled at the idea. She was on her way to the camps not Jahuar. Maybe later if things went well she would go. She thought about it and decided that perhaps if she felt brave enough to travel so far she would visit Jahuar at least once or twice just to find out what kind of berries they had.

Flexing her fingers she poked the rock she had now marked. She licked sailscales a lot but after this she had to admit capramel’s were her third favorite animals. She thought perhaps the next time she was headed to Mez she would stop by Tind. They had a lot of capramel’s there. “I’m not really used to traveling all that much. This is the furthest I’ve ever been from home and to be honest the idea of traveling all the way to Jahuar is a bit.. daunting.” She smiled shyly to Nu admitting her fear

"Well, now I know!" laughed Nuawahn, "They're for painting too!" new things, new things, new things - he loved learning new things. He didn't think he could paint, though. She made it look so easy, but it wasn't. Even he could tell that, if he tried, he wouldn't be able to be as good as her.

Which just meant he had to try anyway! Could be fun too!

Anyway, he knew La'amu didn't mind dirt so much, but it was nice that she'd made it so that it would stay pretty for longer!

"You should go to Jahuar!" he said, chirpily, "Its really pretty there! When you'r up top, theres colors everywhere! When your in the bottom, there's little lights everywhere! And there's always rain!" He knew a fellow Sautian would appreciate that, "But thats okay, if your scared! You don't have to go if you don't want to!" he laughed again, skritching La'amu's head lovingly, "And you don't need to go alone anyway! You can go with me! Travelling with people is more fun! Its like bringing home with you!" not that he'd ever had a stable, single place as a home, not really. But he understood! "Some alkidikes..." he leaned in and whispered conspirationally, his odd eyes dancing with mischief, "Are afraid to go to Sauti!" he drew back, "So you already have things in common with them, and I bet you'll make lots of friends when you do go to Jahuar!" The key word was 'when'. He didn't see any reason for her not to go eventually. Not now, of course, because she wasn't ready to go that far, but someday! He knew she'd have fun. After all, he did!

"I could tell you stories in the meantime! Then you'll be all ready when you do go!" he offered, kicking his legs against the stone like a small, impatient child. "I've got lots of stories!"

Mella wasn’t sure which was more fascinating that fact that Nu seemed to be perpetually happy or the way his hair seemed to bounce along with the same energy he had while the braids on the side seemed to want to sway more. She listened to him describe Jahuar and smiled at his statement of rain. It would make it much harder to rain but the fact water would be plentiful was nice for drinking. She was very surprised at his offer to travel with her. It was just so sweet that she wanted to give him a hug. “I think that sounds wonderful. I am going to be traveling for a bit, but if I decide to head to Jahuar I will try and get word to you. Is there a place I send word that you can check?” She had learned that not everyone had a place they could call home, but many had places they visited frequently. Judging from the fact he had a Capramel perhaps he found himself in Tind a lot? She hoped so. She never thought of traveling with others as bringing home with her but it did make some amount of sense.

Leaning in when he lowered his voice she was compelled to gasp at his revelation before she burst out in giggles. Of all the things to point out she never expected that to be one of them. “It makes sense but I can’t believe anyone could be scared of traveling in Sauti, though I’m so familiar with it that I know I’m very biased.” She blushed thinking about it. “I’d like to hear some of those stories of yours.” She shifted some sand aside so she would have some space to sit that was semi level. “Tell you what if you share a few stories with me I’ll trade you and make something art wise you can carry around.” She tugged out a blank sheet of skin to work on to show him she was serious about the offer.

What should I do?

"Mmm..." Nuawahn thought for a moment, "Well I kinda go everywhere, but messages find their way to me eventually!" he said, and they did. He didn't know how. Just another wonder of the world, another thing to enjoy about his life.

"I know!" he laughed, "But see? you aren't alone! Everybody's scared of something! Even if they don't need to be!" Not him, really.

Well.

Okay. He was scared of the dark. But not much more than that!

He clapped his hands gleefully and wiggled in childish delight, his trinkets jingling with the movements. "I like this trade!" he said. Art he could take with him?! That would be so special! Yay for friends!

"Mmmmm, what story to tell you though..." he pulled his legs up to his chest and rocked back and forth a bit as he thought, his fingers tapping the crystals on his chin.

"Ooo!" he said, snapping his fingers and leaning forward, letting his feet fall back to the stone, "I know! Wanna hear the story about the baby Witu and a Radaku?"

So there was really no place to leave a message for him. Still Mella supposed not everyone had a place to go back to and really call home all the time. She nodded her head. The huge grin on her face was there but to be honest her cheeks were starting to hurt just a bit. She didn’t’ think she had ever smiled so much in all her life! She watched as he made his musical movement’s whishing she could convey sound to her art. She began to pull out supplies she might need. A skin, a charcoal stick from her fire last night, and one of the jars of fat she saved from her meals to help spread and seal the art. She would determine colors from her limited palette as she worked on the lines.

“No I have never heard that story.” She knew very little about the land in which he had mentioned. To be honest she wasn’t quite sure what a Radaku was. She swept a lock of hair behind an ear to keep it open while she worked on her trade piece. “What is a Witu and a Radaku?”

just tell a story dear. if you can't think of one send me a pm and we can work one out together. ^.^ .. I just have no idea what a Witu is and the weather is keeping me from safely loading a lot of pages with the net shutting off ever few moments.
