Fi gripped his hand, trying not to be rough about it. A deal was a deal and they'd sealed it with a shake. The fauness was more excited about the fact that she had a new surfing partner than the fact that she'd managed to secure warm things for the tree. But that was a nice perk.
It was when she saw him take off and fly of to his home that she had to stop and think a moment. It honestly made her heart ache to see somepae do things like that. It reminded her so much of Bob. The orange female frowned, waiting for him to return.
She paced, stretching her legs out while she waited. Fi was a fairly patient faun, but he had just made her recall so many memories she'd wanted to forget. It made for a very anxious Phiona. She kept pacing, hoping he would get back soon. She wanted to go back to the tree and get this over with. To start trying to forget again. She did so good with everything else, why couldn't she forget this time?

Kurt returned as fast as his wings could take him. Catching sight of the fauness, he made his decent more falling than flying. It was only at the right moment he opened his wings again and flapped hard enough to make a mostly graceful landing.
With a joyful smile he told her, "I have it!" he had no idea the pain he had drug up, instead was delighted that dispite what he gave up, he was one step closer to finishing the quest. All he needed was the cup once she gave him her coin then he could return home. Poor Zofie must be so lonely and bored all by herself in an empty house. He felt badly for his roommate and pseudo-daughter.

Fi wiped her eyes, putting on a smile when he arrived. He was a kind angel, even if it made her ache. "Excellent!" Her grin was real this time, and she was pulling out the special coin she'd promised to give him for these. Fi only hoped she could get another one before she had to leave again.
"Is everything okay at your home?" She inquired, trying to be nice. The faunness was holding the coin, waiting for him to hand her both the ones he'd brought from his home and the bundles in the pack to her. She wasn't distrusting, especially after he'd already handed her one of the bundles. She was just being cautious. Her heart was hurting, she wanted to be over with this and back into the safety of the tree as quick as she could. Fi swore to herself, never again. No more angels or demons, they're nothing but heartbreak.

Kurt didn't hesitate to hand over the bundles held safely in the pack that was also hers to keep. One hand held the bundles the other was open in a silent request for the coin. He trusted her to hand it over, she was still here when he got back after all.
Her question made him think of poor Zofie all by her self, "It should be, I didn't go inside. I don't want to bring the cold in. Zofie is keeping the house safe and the alpaca are well. I feel bad that she is by herself, all alone." He'd be home soon, just one more thing to find then he could go home and get warm. Even with the clothes there was nothing like going with out in a warm home.

Fi handed over her coin as she took the remaining bundles. Fair trade and all that, she had tried to get better about it recently, realizing that she could wind up getting cheated out of a deal if she didn't do things like this.
"It sounds like you've got a wonderful home life." She smiled, wondering who Zofie was. But then, she had just sworn herself off this kind of thing hadn't she? She didn't need to care. "Your Zofie will be happy to have you home. And you should be headed there as well. The sun will start going down soon, you'll freeze in the cold of the night." Fi warned, trying to make sure he'd be safe even if she knew it would do no good.

Kurt couldn't argue with her without lying, "I do, I built the house and having Zofie makes it a home. She is like a daughter to me." He missed his own children and his wife; however, being unable to find them he had to build a life again. Wallowing in the pieces left behind wouldn't make them happy.
She was right of course because of the cold, "I couldn't I don't want to go in and out of the house when its this cold. I'll go to the floating city until my quest is over." The idea of bringing the cold in, warming up and then having to go back out was a struggle he didn't want to endure if he could help it.

Fi nodded as if she understood. In reality she didn't. She herself was more than comfortable going in and out of the tree when she needed to. Or really when she wanted to. It wasn't out of consideration for the other faun that she stayed indoors, though it was something to think about. If she remembered it.
"Just keep yourself warm." Fi offered, still smiling for him. She offered a wave, taking a step back. The weather was getting to her. Time to return to the safety of The Great Tree. "Thank you for the bundles of fluffy stuff." Fi curtsied, using it to take another step back. "If you'll... Oh shoot. Bye!" She grinned, waving as she turned and ran off. Back to the warmth of the tree. At this rate, she felt like her tail was going to fall off from the cold! Best to get the warm stuff inside and quick.
