Kadentsu smiled and nudged the little mare lightly, she found her very sweet and welcoming. She always enjoyed the company of such.
"All the pleasure of meeting is mine."
Kadentsu nodded at her in agreement.
"Helping others is a good way to help bring smaller communities together I've found. Herds will open up to each other much better once they start helping each other out with little things. And the helper earns respect, not only in the eyes of the one they helped, but the community itself as well."
Kadentsu then came to realize she was still in the water! Though it didn't bother her to any particular extent, she turned around a bit to head back to the edge of the water and brought herself to the ground.
"Much better holding a nice conversation when you aren't knee deep in water."

Amaranth beat her delicate wings and followed the mare from the shallow pond. "I agree, some conversations are best when you have a firm footing." With those words Amaranth closed her eyes and focused, imaging herself at her full size. She felt the world grow small around her, a disorienting sensation still even though she'd been doing this for years, before her hooves touched solid ground. She felt winded after the transformation and knew she would not be shrinking again any time soon. But she felt it was only polite to meet this princess on equal terms. "I imagine," she continued opening her eyes and taking into consideration the new perspective on the lily pond. "That helping others forges strong bonds, especially in times of trouble."

Kadentsu thought about all the herds she had helped to overcome some differences. There certainly were a lot of silly things that Soquili liked to fight and begrudge over, though some had been more serious. She didn't like conflict all that much, so preventing it was always the best choice.
"Yes, there are a few times were the problem were more serious and needed a bit more work, but overall, Soquili fight over the smallest things."
Kadentsu smiled at the newly large mare.
"It's so interesting how flutters, like yourself, can change your size like that. Though I'd imagine it must hold some kind of physical strain..."
She stepped closer to the mare. Now that she was larger, it was easier to see her.
"Your wings are so pretty..."

Amaranth gave the mare a small, but tired, smile. "It can be....exhausting sometimes. But it is such a treasured gift. I would not trade it for anything." Amaranth carefully spread her wings to offer the mare a better view. She had a certain amount of just pride in her appearance, though she was convinced her best features were her wings with their delicate swirl designs and the unique marking on her hip. "Thank you," she said softly.

Kadentsu saw the small flicker of a smile on the mare. She was sure it caused the flutters to end up being tired quickly. As a kind gesture, she gently nudged the others neck. She thought this mare was very nice and shouldn't look so weary.
"It's a wonderful gift, much like your markings! You have such pretty colors..."
Kadentsu walked around the other, just taking her in, then stopped in front of her again. She did wonder if the mare felt strange having the other look at her so much though.

"It's alright," Amaranth said gently, as if reading the mare's mind. "I know for those who have not seen my kind before we are...different." She laughed softly, "Very different, I suppose, than some of the other soquili you may see around. And I thank you, truly, for your compliments. Though I have done little to earn such admiration, I really am quite ordinary. Certainly nothing to compare to a princess."

Kadentsu smiled shyly at the mare, blushing a bit. She never really thought it was such a big deal herself, though she always finds others who think it's amazing to see a princess. Now that she thought about it, they have a tendency to be much like herself now. Checking her out and taking in all of her. It was always interesting to see what others thought of her.
"My being a princess doesn't mean that you are simply plain. You are very pretty. I've certainly seen plainer Soquili out in the world."
She smiled widely at the mare.
"And you are the first flutter I have seen so close up. I guess I've only seen ones that are skittish in nature. Until I met you, of course."
Kadentsu shook herself a bit, then laid down, getting comfortable in the soft grass.
"It's so nice here..."

"With our diminutive sizes we can be skittish, with good reason," she added carefully folding her legs under her as she settled to the ground. "Most soquili don't have to worry about becoming snacks for various woodland creatures..or having a malicious skinwalker try to rip your wings off..." she shuttered remembering horror stories of skinwalkers passed around her people in her youth the particular type of cruelty they leveled at the flutter soquili. "I'm sorry," she added quietly. "Such tales are not meant to be told on beautiful days like today. I just wanted to express that other flutters may not be rude so much as...cautious."

Kadentsu thought on it a bit. She could certainly understand where that would make make sense. Being bullied so much and having their fragile wings taken away... It would be enough to make any race of Soquili skittish. She hadn't met a skinwalker herself, but heard plenty about their attraction to making others suffer, having met more than one herd who moved on from their home lands for such reasons.
She turned to the other mare. A very serious look in her eyes.
"Skinwalkers are things that should always be acknowledged. So others can be aware of the cruel and terrible things they are capable of. No matter the weather or day of the year."
Kadentsu nodded at the flutter, hoping she hadn't upset her with such words. She simply didn't enjoy showing weakness or apprehension to ANY breed of Soquili. Whether they be Skinwalker of Kalona, she would always stand for what was right.
"I do apologize for getting so very worked up... I just can't stand the vile things in the world..."
She looked down, rather ashamed of herself for bringing such things up further. Her mothers would be displeased with her etiquette.

"Do not fret," Amaranth said softly. "I only meant that there is no need to tell such stories to a new acquaintance on a peaceful day. Not to deny the existence of darkness, no one can do that, but it seems foolish to dwell and allow that darkness to cast a shadow over times of peace. You do not stand for the vile creatures that haunt this world which is a noble endeavor, but I could not stand to support the greatest ally of those that linger in darkness: fear. Fear is their greatest weapon...it is different. While the skinwalker can harm your body, fear can eat away at your mind and consume your soul. It permeates every aspect of your life and if you allow it, it can control you. I've seen how fear can take over lives and I can not sit idly by and allow it to run its course. I suppose that is why I try so hard to live in the moment, to appreciate and enjoy that which I see, and not live worrying about what was or what might be." She paused briefly gave a tentative smile, "Someone once told me, a life lived in fear is a life half lived. I refuse to live a half life."

Kadentsu watched the mare as she spoke. She had the utmost respect for this flutter and the words she spoke. All of her words pure truth and utter defiance. She much liked talking to her. It made her happy to hear someone else speak such words. Her mothers are much the same, especially her mother Utena. Fiercely standing for good is something Kadentsu learned from them and will practice.
"Your words ring out with so much truth and defiance. It's refreshing to meet another who has, and wants, so much life to live. Most simply live in fear of the evils in this world."
Kadentsu smiled at the mare, feeling much better about what she had said.
"Talking with you is nice. You are very good company, especially on such a nice day."

Amaranth dipped her head slightly, bashfully. She never really handled praise well. Not like that at least. Soquili admiring her for her looks, she had grown used to that during her travels. But admiration for her words? She was often seen as too bold, too outspoken amongst her own family. She had not meant to deliver any great truths, only to express her truth, what she had learned living her life. She expressed as much to the young mare, "I try to be brave, to live my life beyond the shadows. Most days I think I succeed." She then added a little more firmly shaking her bangs from her eyes, "Today, I believe is one of those days. I must acknowledge I enjoy your company as well. You truly do have a pure heart, it seems the world has not managed to touch you or scar you. You are fortunate."

Kadentsu shook her head a bit at the mares bashful look.
"You shouldn't be so bashful about being able to see and speak such truths. Though I understand that plenty of others don't appreciate such ideals and one speaking their minds. Things like that happen often in my travels."
She smiled at the mare and gently poked her neck with her muzzle.
"I'm happy that you are enjoying the conversation as well!"

"I suppose I am a somewhat solitary creature in my travels, but I do enjoy a chance to sit down and converse. I imagine you know some of the areas in this land that are more sparely populated. One can go days in those plains without seeing another soul," she said looking over the land towards the horizon.

Kadentsu nodded.
"There are actually a lot more uninhibited areas in this land then one would think. The populated areas get that way with herds getting together in the same area. It's interesting when they sometimes merge and become one bigger herd."
She looked off into the greater beyond.
"There are so many places in this world. It's rather amazing. The deepest woods are someplace I hope to see. And perhaps the tallest mountain."
She smiled a bit. She always did enjoy thinking about what could be out in the great beyond.
