"Nothing to thank me for." He said with a smile as they made their way to what was normally a busy sidewalk, during the day when there were people all around. Cabs here would be easy, or easier, to hail and take them to his parents home so they could put an end to their evening out.
"No, I don't think we need anything." He said as the cab came to a stop along side them. Opening the door he held it open for her and smiled. "In you go, lets get home. They'll have everything at home that they need. The guest room is free also so you can spend the night." Which was something that was almost always possible for Fiona to do, save for when family was over and the guest rooms occupied. Certain sports games resulted in his whole family over his house and spending the night, due to being too drunk to safely get home. Getting into the cab along side Fiona he pulled the door closed and his arm went back around her.
"I can't wait to get home and get us out of the cold." Watching as the cab pulled away from the sidewalk and merged with the few other cars on the road.

The drive was short relative to daytime traffic; twenty minutes give or take spent in silence with one of her hands carefully cradled in his own while the other held onto the stack of to-go boxes that rested upon her lap. Fiona's thumb absentmindedly rand over his knuckles till the vehicle came to a stop at the end of his driveway.
"Shall we?" She asked in a sing-song voice while reaching for the door handle so they may get out.

The drive was silent but not in some uncomfortable manner, it was still pleasant, and when the taxi arrived he nodded his head. "Sounds good." Waiting for her to open the door he came out right behind her. "Come on phi, lets get you inside and warm." Reaching for his wallet to pay for the taxi ride to his home, already wanting to be inside the warmth of his home. Phi was a nickname for her, and he was sure someone at their school had a nickname for them, Fiona and Fionan, given how similar their names were. He hadn't even much thought on that when he'd asked her out, it was just an attraction and acting on it.
Once the taxi was paid he headed for the front door, an arm about her once again, and the other hand grabbing his keys before unlocking the front door so they could get inside. "We're home." Calling out to whoever could hear him as they came over the threshold.
