"Gross," Oz replied, mistaking Harrison's look of darkness as a look of darkness and attempt to persuade nubile young boys into his Harrison van. He scooted further away from the disaster zone.
Zoe shrugged, having missed the Harrison freakout entirely. "That will do." She handed him a form with the general information, something about how if Harrison lost the cage they would reclaim interest back in body organs and how when they signed the form they signed their soul, the usual stuff. There was a handy blank line at the bottom for entering a signature and a second one for the date. She also drew a trivia question card. "Sign here and what is the difference between an invisible cat and an invisible dog?"

Harrison read the form in detail.
He squinted.
At least there weren't more monetary fees.
He signed and dated the form.
Was it a trick question?
"One's a dog and one's a cat," he said. Sort of. Unless she was asking how you told them apart. "And they make different noises." Not cute noises either. The invisible whatevers they had in the lab felt less like dogs and more like a mixture of octopus and organs.
He handed over the form.

Well, she couldn't really ask a Moon Hunter to too observant here so Zoe let it pass. For now. She picked up a mostly in good condition carrier from the mess, pressing the button on the front to make sure the door opened. "It'll will do imposter." As she handed the cage to Harrison she gave him a very stern look. "Don't even think of trying anything else, I know your secret."
Technically, she meant the secret that he wasn't much of a minipet sympathizer.

Harrison's confusion deepened.
"The name's Harrison," he repeated slowly for her, even though it was on the form.
He wasn't sure what she meant secret-wise, until the only possible thing that it could be clicked, that s**t about being single on Twitter. Which wasn't much of a ******** secret.
Why were half the people in this facility nutcases.
He took the cage, and left before she threw a my first funeral puzzle book at him.

Kostya showed up, with his scarf tucked under his shirt and with a thick pair of garden gloves. It was clear (to him, at any rate) that he'd be going to the minipets labs after this. "Am here to get carrier," he said, frowning. "To get for rent."

Zoe had gotten the hang of this now, and simply shoved the form in front of Kostya. It read something about death threats and permission to desecrate their dead bodies if they did not return the carriers post mortem, stuff like that. "Sign along the line, date here, and," she shuffled the cards and picked one, "how do minipets breed?"

Kostya signed, even if it took some time to fiddle with the pen with the thick gloves on his hands. The threats were status quo. He signed as instructed, looking at the girl with an unblinking stare. "They are using mushrooms," he said, having practised on home made flash cards. He passed back the clipboard expectantly.

"He cheated," a tiny dark-skinned Death Hunter (Oz) said, popping up suddenly in the space between Zoe and Kostya. He eyed Kostya with judgement, and then stood on a few crates so he was taller and then eyed Kostya again. Judgement.
"Oz," Zoe sighed, "I don't have written answers to my cards. So unless he has psychic powers-"
-"Which he does!"-
-"Unless," she pressed onwards," he had extremely useless minipet card-reading psychic powers, he earned it fair and square." She tentatively handed Kostya a carrier - and then suddenly pulled it back. "If you even use your grubby human hands to mistreat any poor helpless minipet I will find you. I know where you live." Well yeah duh, every Hunter lived on Deus Ex.

Ian was not here for any particular reason at all, nope.
He stepped up behind the last person there and peered around curiously. "I saw something about, uh, carriers or something?" he asked lightly, shoving his hands into the pockets of his jeans.

"Sign." Zoe said flatly, now getting the hang of this and also not appreciating human contact, even if she had technically initiated it. She had wanted minipet sympathizers, not a bunch of people who just wanted free stuff. Ian got a look of extreme judgement and minipet-non-appreciating prejudice. She very curtly shuffled her cards. "If I had a box of foxfires, labelled A, and someone else had a box of foxfires, labelled B, and there was a theoretical box of foxfires, labelled C, which had the average weight amount of 110, assuming foxfires weighed on average 0.5 lbs, how many foxfires would be in boxes B and C, if box B was half the weight of box A and box C was a quarter of the average weight of boxes C and B?"
The card itself read "What is the average size of a foxfire?" so Zoe was probably just being extremely disgruntled at all the customers that she was supposed to have and were supposed to be good news.

There was a long pause in which Ian just stared at Zoe with a vaguely suspicious look on his face.
"Forty-two," he said brightly, scratching his name onto the right line without actually looking where he was signing. He glanced at the question, added the word, "small" right beneath the sentence, and handed the card back to Zoe with an innocent smile on his face.

Ian glanced down. "Whoops!" he said cheerfully, plucked it from her fingers, scratched out the wrong date, and wrote the proper date before handing it back to Zoe with a wide smile.

Solia had heard that there was an opportunity to be had to carry around a cute minipet with you provided you had a carrier. The idea that she could take a cute thing around with her like some sort of demon dog in a purse was appleaing and horrifying and really- Solia just needed something to do because hours of paperwork and dicking around trying to learn how to hack were really boring but hey minipets tended to be cute and not boring and worst came to worst she could just let the minipet be free to pee in some lifer's lab or something. Approaching the duo Solia looked at Ian then at Zoe, then at the carriers. "...how many foxfires is too many foxfires to be in one carrier?" Solia are you even allowed...
I have learned Isra. It will never happen again.

Kostya stared blankly at the exchange, and nodded once. "Vill not hurt a minipet," he said, "also am not having psychic power. Russian are very veak in this area. Much improvement need to be make in great country."
It was almost dry enough to be sarcasm.
