"Either road of the Universe's desires, would require actually talking to each other in a meaningful way. I'm glad to hear the Jovians agree to compromise- but it doesn't sound like you've all come to any actual compromises on anything. You have no group policies that you can tell me about that aren't fly-by-pants compromises on the battlefield with each other? Its hard to try to formu-....to form prop-- suggestions of pizza toppings for a party without even knowing if all the people I'm trying to buy for even like pizza. " No plans for prisoners, no standing policy on how to deal with the unrepentant, doesn't sound likely that there's liaisons picked out to talk to other teams, and no direct patrol rules, routes, or partnerships. It isn't a team, isn't a tribe, its like a couple cats in room occasionally sleeping in a pile in the center. If that.

Valhalla watched the senshi, growing more curious about him the more disappointed he seemed to become. He wondered if the others would be upset with him for not trying harder to convince Thraen that they were an A+ team that everyone should join…
But he didn’t believe that. He didn’t want anyone to be convinced to join them or even agree with them. That was what separated them from the Negaverse — a military faction who lost their ability of free will. It was why the senshi and knights had such difficulties getting organized, and why they often got into arguments. They all had free will — and Valhalla knew that was how they would win in the end. Because it was their own decision to fight, and despite the arguments and inability to work together, when it came down to it, they still all fought against chaos.
He could tell Thraen was trying to dumb his speech down for him. Why else would he bring up pizza when before he spoke so eloquently before, and Valhalla wondered if that meant he hadn’t passed the test, if there even was one. It made him feel guilty, and he wished there was a better way to prove himself other than make the Jovians look like a disorganized group of kids… which they technically were.
“We’ll always make a stand against chaos,” he offered, feeling as though Thraen had already made his judgement on him and the Jovians, but he didn’t feel right just shrugging him off, especially when Thraen had been the one to seek them out. “But, no… I can’t tell you any group policies. And that might just be because I’m not the best spokesperson for the group. All I can do is stay true to myself… I’m sorry if this is nothing you were hoping to find… but if you ever need help, we’ll do what we can.”

"Anything worth doing was never easy. " Thraen looked the Knight directly in the eyes, hesitation and uncertainty no part of his countenance. "If you mean that, that the Jovians are ready and willing to offer help, call a meeting of your team. However you all choose to organize...wherever. But soon. Please. And ask those hard questions- make compromises on actual policy. Things cannot continue as they are. I have held the dying, Valhalla, alone in the dark. It might not have happened if there'd been some unified choices that all would uphold. Some Order in the chaos. " "When you have those answers, I would like to learn hear decisions of the Jovians. I want a council of voices to meet and to agree on these things. " We can't continue murdering Kitty Genovese. Even if I'm dead, he know the plan. Babylon has hints of it. I've talked to Irene. Maybe someone will keep it moving and get something done.

Maybe he wasn’t thinking very clearly, or maybe he was too distracted by everything else that had happened of which this young man was reminding him, but the thought of having actual policies…? Were they ready for something like that? Zia seemed to think all they were was a ‘soccer team’ and it had hurt him for her to compare it to that when, to him, it was so much more. But the fact that they weren’t like a normal group with rules and regulations… did that make them weak…?
He didn’t think so… He trusted his teammates to act in the best interest of others, and that they didn’t necessarily need to discuss what made them ‘the Jovians’, but he could understand the hesitation someone meeting them for the first time must have.
“What kind of questions are you looking to have answered…?” he prompted, unable to formulate many questions he hadn’t had answers for other than the fact that he didn’t know what they’d do with prisoners… partially because they’d never needed to take prisoners before. “I can tell you we won’t kill or torture anyone. And we won’t force purification on anyone… but we’ll offer help to anyone who needs it… I’m just not sure what you wanted to know about us…”

For a brief moment, Thraen felt the boiling frustration that he'd just been talking to an ice sculpture instead of a person for the last count of minutes. He quashed the desire to crawl onto the Knight and try to force things into his brain by way of opening his skull and magically, somehow, making words and ideas physical and stuffing them in like bread into a turkey. He closed his eyes, and brought his hands cupped to his mouth to warm them a moment. "The questions would be those related to exactly what I was probing you tonight about. A loose alliance, a skeleton form of 'government'. The basic purposes of a governing body, presumably also for teams, are providing for the common defense, providing public services, protecting individual rights through administration of the rule of law- in 5 broad phrases Defense, Representation, Social Welfare, Infrastructure and Identity. " "On a smaller scale, could a system be set up among the teams to keep a pool of money for those in need? Could there be assigned responsibility and rotation of teams with cats to seek out new senshi and knights that are without teams and take them under wing for mentorships if not memberships? The enemy is finding them and converting them before they've even met another of us. Discussion about the prime rights that the Jovians value, and how they will deal with those who do wrong among our own. The powers we have are very convenient for breaking the law, and the anonymity provided by the magic." "Or, if the Jovians will be it, just having the answer that your group wants none of it and prefer to remain as you are. And I will not bother you again."

Valhalla’s eyes remained wide and curious as Thraen explained what he wanted to know, flinching visibly when he was basically told he hadn’t been listening if he didn’t already know. “Sorry…” he mumbled, shifting awkwardly on his feet. He thought he got most of it, but other than the one thing… maybe he just missed it somehow…?
“I can… talk to the others about all that,” he told him, although he was fairly certain everything he’d just said was way too much for any individual, or even a small group like the Jovians, to accomplish. They were no government. They were unique, individual people, not some powerhouse. But it was a nice thought, he supposed.
He opened his mouth to continue his explanation, but stopped before he could say anything, realizing that nothing he said would help. “Are there others who share your ideals…?” he asked slowly, wondering just how many people wanted this governing body that he was talking about. “There are only… maybe seven or eight of us… But there are few other groups out there, and even then, we’re not warriors… we have lives… school, sports, families. Protecting this world and those who live on it is my first priority, but it’s not my only priority, nor anyone else’s who don’t eventually get consumed by this war.
“A senshi named Ares created a court of warriors a few years ago, before even I awoke into all this. It was the Blood Moon Court and they had their governing force, their routines, their mentorship and tiers of advancement… but Ares was blinded by her own power and consumed by chaos and created what is known as the Dark Mirror Court, corrupting senshi and killing knights.
“That was when the Jovians were formed, in the wake of all that. So… you’ll have to forgive us if we’re hesitant about things like governing bodies and… becoming too militaristic. We’re not the Negaverse…” he finished, his eyes sad and looking almost defeated. He wanted to help Thraen, but he also didn’t want to get his hopes up for some amazing organized team ready to fight chaos.
“We… I want to help you,” he emphasized, no longer comfortable with lumping all of the Jovians into his own opinions. “I’m not saying not to bother us… I just don’t want you to expect things to be easy, or immediate. But if you were ever in trouble, know that I’ll help if it’s in my power to do so.”

"I did not know the history of the founding of the Dark Mirror enemy. I thank you for that. " Thraen fought any impulse to cross his arms over his chest- it was a closed stance and psychologically sent the wrong messages. Instead he occupied his hands in curling one over the other in turn. "But it seems you misunderstand me." "No, there are not many that think or feel exactly as I do. But there are a few I have met who have felt the want of some sort of organizational bonds. I do not have to believe in a council to understand that it may be good for others, or better than nothing. I want most for something to be discussed and established. I do not want to be a king." "What I hope for, Valhalla, is independent of my own personal belief. " "And I don't think everyone else should choose a monarch if they do not feel it useful, or even a council. But a welfare system and a 911, as it were, and assigned searches for new senshi are not much to ask. Governing can be refused on many grounds, as you observe, but I should hope charity not. Especially when many already offer it to each other they personally meet on the street. "

Valhalla nodded in response, shuffling his feet almost self-consciously, although it could pass off as just trying to stay warm. He probably wasn’t the best person to talk to about all this serious stuff, if only because things were very dependant on the situation for him. He saw most things in grey rather than binary.
“I would be very against a monarch,” he grinned weakly, feeling the more he spoke, the more he disappointed or frustrated Thraen. It was a shame too, because he did enjoy talking to him. “Supreme power is a little… outdated.” He realized Thraen might not be speaking literally, but Valhalla couldn’t be entirely certain.
“It would be nice to get some kind of system setup, across the board for senshi and knights, though. We might have to get the guardian cats involved in something of that scale, since they’re the ones who help out with the senshi,” he suggested, stopping himself from saying how he’d just give people money if they needed it. He agreed wholeheartedly that charity was important, but he also wasn’t going to force others to do it.
He shook his head at himself, realizing he was going on about things that should be discussed at another time. “Sorry,” he mumbled, glancing up at Thraen’s face curiously. He usually wasn’t one to comment on things like physical appearance… and he almost didn’t want to know, but…. “How… did you get your scar…?” he wondered out loud, bracing himself for something he might not want to hear. “You don’t have to tell me, if you don’t want to,” he quickly added, almost regretting asking.

"I've spoken at some length with Sailor Irene about it, if you are ever in the mood to network more. She has different ideas than mine, I'm sure, but in the same vein. So far as I know, getting some help from the cats might be a necessity- they provide our phones. How much is magic and how much tech or programming as understood by Earth standards I can't say. It's all somewhat in the air until there are a few more serious sit downs with people who actually know things. If you're able to find any such people and ask them, I'd be grateful for the help." The query about his scar was surprising, so far into the conversation. The Super Senshi had chalked the lack earlier up to Valhalla having been either too polite, or possibly used to seeing such decoration enough that it wasn't something to even hit social radar. "I don't have anything to hide. " "It was parting gift from a General with a gunblade, wearing pink and tan. He had no time to inflict more, having need to save his cycloptic companion from hypothermia in a river. I'm not fast enough to dodge such rank. Do you know them? " Guine I apologize if this quptes you again ;__; fixed some wrong spelling from scare to scar

”I don’t think I’ve met Sailor Irene,” Valhalla admitted, looking thoughtful on the topic. He wouldn’t mind learning more about cats, regardless of whether or not they could help knights as they do senshi. And either way, it was good that he didn’t seem to be frustrating the senshi much any more, or at least Thraen wasn’t making much of a show of it.
He grimaced a little when Thraen told him how he got his scar, shaking his head in regards to the first General mentioned, but hesitated a little at the mention of someone with one eye… He couldn’t be talking about Wolframite, could he…? While his last interaction with the General could have been better, he also didn’t think he was quite as horrible as others, or even Wolframite himself, might think.
“No… not any General with a gunblade, at least,” he admitted, hoping his concern for the other wasn’t too obvious. It wasn’t that he sympathized with Chaos in the least… but these people were still just children themselves… “I’m glad you’re alive and we had a chance to meet,” Valhalla added, his eyes sincere. While he might not have the same opinions as this senshi, Thraen was still someone worth helping. Ivynian No worries! Sorry about the wait! ;; We can wrap it up if you'd like! <3

Thraen's eyes narrowed at the returned comment, pulling it apart at every seam of words for what wasn't being said. You don't know the pink and brown, at least not by name. But you draw long face and make no mention at all about what you do or do not know about someone who has one eye in the Negaverse. Saying nothing is an admission of sorts, though nothing that would hold up in debate. You know that one. And you protect information about him.
This one cannot be trusted. "So it is. It was good to meet you, Valhalla. I am always happy to meet others and learn. You've been a help." Thraen lifted his weather-paled hands and inspected the colour around his nails," The night ages and grows cold, and we both have ways to go before we sleep, I imagine." He was getting too cold to really stay out much longer. "If nothing else, another point of contact in moving something of a multi-team organization of those untainted. If you have news or need, you have my name- Thraen, Senshi of Gardens. Safe journeys." Thraen held his hand up and palm out a moment in gesture before turning on heel to find a course through the night. Guine wrap for Thraen~ Thank you! It was a lot of fun.

There was something he said that Thraen didn’t like — or at least that’s what he assumed the narrowing of his eyes meant. Valhalla wondered if there was something else he should have said, or something he shouldn’t have. Either way, it wasn’t like he had anything to hide, and would be happy to explain anything that was asked of him.
“You too,” he said after the senshi as he turned to leave, watching the figure depart. There wasn’t much more for Valhalla to do out there in the cold, so he decided to head home as well.
Although, the knowledge that something might have happened to Wolframite was weighing heavy on his mind. He didn’t condone a lot of what the Negaverse did, but he still believed people had the chance to change. Ivynian Thanks for everything!! It was great! <3
