Freja smirked slightly at his question and reached to her waist to pull a dagger from her belt. The blade had been tempered so that it was light, but it was strong. On the hilt there were jewels and gold filigree, and again, the symbol of their god.
"We mainly mine iron. But these mountains are very rich. There is also the ore of the gods deep within. It would be difficult to reach, but not impossible. Not if we were to handle the mining with caution."

Isambard listened to her intently, Iron was worth its weight in gold. They could do much with it, as they could with lead. Mythril was also a useful element, though less so to him perhaps. It was an asset that had to be guarded.
"I would like to trade with you, when your people are well again. We have many different foods and materials that you might wish to trade in, glass, I can even send help for mining. There are many people where we come from who have been displaced from their homes, looking for work. I'm sure there are miners among them."

Freja breathed in deeply and looked over to her son. Outsiders were not overly welcome in his eyes. They never had been.
"I am sure that trade could be set up. I am not certain about the safety of other miners," she replied as she turned her eyes up to the man before her. "Here," she said as she held the knife out to him. "Consider this a token of thanks for your help my lord," she smiled and bowed her head to him respectfully.

Isambard looked at the knife and then up to the woman, he respected her he decided and that was not an honour he gave lightly. Not many people impressed him.
"No, I couldn't take that. You might need it." He replied. "It is a symbol of me and so should stay with you. As long as you carry that you can count on me for protection."

Freja held the god's mismatched eyes boldly and again bowed her head to him in respect.
"Thank you my lord," she smiled softly and looked down at the knife. Breathing in deeply, she gently traced her thumb over the symbol. "Were you the one that found my granddaughter?" she asked.

Isambard inclined his head in a nod.
"Yes, myself and Azriel took her to Talia, the doctor." He gestured to the woman who was doing the rounds, checking people's vitals and ensuring that they had fresh water to flush their systems. "She is still at the town, she is being looked after."

Freja nodded and slipped the knife back into her belt.
"I had faith that she was being looked after. Everyone else was so sure she had died in the cave in. But I knew," she smiled and looked around. "Is there anything else you may need my lord?" she asked.

Isambard looked around and shook his head.
"No, that is all. We will begin making your water supply safe in the morning. Thank you very much for your hospitality, I hope that we can help you return to the way things were." He bowed his head and went to see if he could help anywhere.
