Richard arched an eyebrow at Alex's rather knowledgeable blurb about Disney and Fantasia, though it wasn't necessarily a bad thing. He simply wasn't expecting him to be so knowledgeable or enthusiastic about the topic, and that was interesting enough for Richard to pass off without harsh judgement. It was information about Disney and his friend that he didn't know and could be useful later, so he gave a nod and tucked the information away for a later date. Who knew how useful this would be...

"As noble as that sounds, remember that you deserve a cut from this, friend," Richard said, his voice serious but only for a moment. "Helping out the Negaverse is great, but remember, you're also Alexandre, so you'll need to set aside some of that profit for yourself. Never know when you're going to need that money. Not to mention what'll do for your reputation..."

The touch to his hand wasn't unexpected, nor was it unwanted, as it took much of Richard's considerable will power to not want to reverse the hold and pull him into a possessive hug. It wasn't really a personal attraction, but the desire to hold someone, or have someone hold him, that brought upon this instinct, and it was hard to deny it, given how clingy he knew himself to be. Instead, he let out a playful spat, neither pulling away from the touch nor really returning the gesture just yet. "It wasn't simply flattery, you know. I meant it. But... thank you. You do make me feel a little better, and I appreciate that."

It wasn't that he wanted to be this whiny, sighing, depressed shell of a man. Maybe once she was laid to rest and he dealt with his family, he'd rise above this? Or maybe he would only slip further into the rabbit hole and nothing could ever think to bring him back? Only time could tell. Maybe then he could confess his mistakes to Alex and Krishna... the idea made him shudder and he forced it down. No. Definitely not. But maybe.

"Sounds like a plan to me... though three days feels like such a long time," Richard said with a sigh, finally reaching for the food that his dogs had, surprisingly, not tried stealing yet. Baldwin sat patiently as always, knowing that if he would receive a piece that it would be offered to him in due time, whereas Dummy kept her snout on the coffee table, staring so intently at the food as though to will it into her mouth. Someday she would learn patience was rewarded... until then, she whined obsessively but did not think to help herself. A vast improvement already! "I can't tell you how much I look forward to this whole mess being taken care of, Alex! When the old woman's buried in the ground, when my shop's open again... when I can just move on and have something to do besides sit here and waste away. You think all of that will happen in just three days?"

"Perhaps I do but I'd rather think of the Negaverse and the members who will be working at the shop. I'm more concerned with providing jobs for officers who are in need and advancing us; as an organization. I already have a job and it's not like I don't get much of what I need, and want, from my parents. So I'm honestly less concerned about my own share of things - at least in a monetary sense." A tilt of his head, fork to his lips, and a smile in place. "My...reputation? What could a tea shop do for him...and did he mean as a civilian?

"I know it wasn't. I think we're beyond simple, empty, flattering. I also meant everything I said." He did mean it all, he didn't lie ever. He might stretch the truth or omit things but he didn't tend to do that with friends; and he wasn't doing either thing here with Richard.

Leaning back into his seat he sighed. "Three days isn't all that long, not when compared to all the time we live - a drop or two in a sink filled with water." Not an ocean, or some other vast amount of water, life wasn't that long. But a sink full worked for this. A look cast to Dummy who seemed eager to get some food into her mouth, he really was surprised to see her so well behaved given how wanton she looked. "It might be able to happen in three days though. I'll have place, hopefully by then, and we can get working on that. The...old woman." How odd was it to call someone that? "Will be buried by then. I don't know about your shop but you'll have mine by then hopefully and we can start ordering things." He had a lot he wanted - no needed - to get accomplished and in a small amount of time.

"It wouldn't be wrong of me to offer the dog." Motioning with his head to Dummy. "Some food, would it?"

Oh, how Richard would have preferred to stay here, in Destiny City, even if he found himself withering away, than to board that stupid plane and fly down to that stupid state for a whole three days. Business discussion might have bored most individuals, but Richard welcomed the reprieve it would have offered. To get his mind off of the eulogy that he said he'd write... but never did.

"You are a kind soul... Negaverse needs more like you, I'd say." Richard said, finally taking a bite of the meal that Alex purchased for him. He didn't have much of an appetite as of late and most of what he did eat (ie, was forced down his throat) were taken in small nibbles, hardly satisfying for any man but enough for a man brought to his level. It was enough to keep him from starving to death, anyway. This, however, was far more tastier than he remembered greek food ever being. Perhaps it was his recent diet, or maybe it was the place that Alex ordered from, but it was beyond delicious! Alex was saying something about reputations and flattery, but Richard was too proud to admit that he could barely hear him over the sound of himself eating. However, he did try to contribute, even if his mouth was full and it was very, very rude of him. "'Course you did... just as I mean everything I say about you. Really... you're good for the Negaverse, and the economy. Always need new jobs!"

However, as ravenous as he had become in such a short amount of time, he could still hear and revel in the wisdom he heard from Alex, and yet, he couldn't help but find himself growing more and more ashamed of himself. For allowing one so young to enlighten him. For allowing himself to wither away to the point that he was scarfing down Greek food as though he'd never eat again. For wanting to think of any way he could get out of going to this funeral right now. It killed his appetite in a way, and he set the food down with a sigh, pushing it in Baldwin's direction though the Irish wolfhound hardly even sniffed at it before returning to his master's side.

"Who knows... maybe everything will magically be better in three days?" Richard told himself, even if he wasn't fully convinced. "I'll call you when I return. And yes, please, feed the poor thing before she explodes... you'd swear I'd never feed her with the way she looks at you while you eat."

"A kind soul...perhaps. Though with my night time job I'm not so sure I can agree fully - even though it is all good intentions which drive such actions. But beyond that I do care for the members of the Negaverse - a great deal." He cared for them all and wished to see them all do well, or as well as possible, while fighting this war. He wished to help in whatever way he could; even if only in some small manner. As he watched the other eat he smiled to himself and took his time eating slowly.

"I'm flattered and thank you for thinking I'm good for the Negaverse. I just hope others I know think the same thing." He tried to help and do the best he could. He wanted to advance them even if only by some small measure. He wished this war to come to an end, with the other side being thoroughly defeated, so everyone could go on living peacefully. Though he did wonder what life would be like without the war; did that mean he'd been fighting too much and for too long?

Wondering why the other had suddenly, or so it seemed, lost his appetite he watched as even the dog turned his nose up and blinked as he wondered if he'd said something wrong. "Did I misspeak...or bring up something bothersome?" He questioned gently of the other, worry coloring his words.

"Mmm...maybe it will. I mean considering the magic we bare witness to all the time and even participate in." He offered with a gentle smile. Was that what he'd said? Brought up the others shop and how it might not all be right in three days? Did Richard seek a return to before that? To what had become normal for him after joining the Negaverse? The shop in order and his mother behind him?

Laughing he offered the dog some of his food and smiled at the other. "When you return I can pick you up at the airport if you wish and bring you home. We can discuss things on the way and I'll pick up food for us as well? Whatever you'd like. A business dinner of sorts, only more comfortable than a business dinner held at some fancy restaurant." He said with a bright smile offered to the other.

Richard tried to flash Alexandre a tired smile, but it only stuck for a few brief seconds before it melted away into a more solemn expression. It wasn’t that he didn’t believe Alex to be a kind man- he did, he believed him to be one of the kindest souls he ever had the pleasure of meeting, despite their grim occupations. Had anyone known what the two of them were capable of they’d likely wonder what kind of sick and twisted sense of humor Richard had to call him such pleasant things, but that didn’t make it any less true. How could Alexandre remain so kind and charming when he was so overcome with guilt over his actions that he could barely eat? It just wasn’t fair…

“No, you didn’t misspeak, just… don’t mind me, Alex,” Richard said, once again trying to smile and be his charming and witty self that others seemed to think him to be but knowing he’d fail. There were three men that could see right through him, and Alexandre was apparently one of them. “You’d think growing up would solve a lot of your problems on your own, but that’s evidently not the case. I was hoping the destruction of my store, and the deaths of my cousin and mother would be the last I’d have to deal with, but nope. Still have the family and the reading of the will, which is going to likely cause heads to roll…”

Figuratively and maybe even literally. Oh, he hoped it wouldn’t come to that… how would he explain this to the Negaverse? At least then he’d make up for the energy and starseed quota he lacked in recent weeks…

He gave Baldwin a pat on the head in hopes of comforting the dog, knowing that it was Baldwin’s way of trying to comfort him, resting his fuzzy head on his lap as though to try and absorb all of his misery like a sponge. He appreciated it, and the sight of Dummy happily gobbling up the food offered to her did cheer him up some… “I’d like that very much. I’m sure Daran would want to do that, but he’ll likely be sick of me by that time, so it’d be for the best. I’ll call or text you when my plane lands. Please, don’t forget about me… I might take it personal if you do.”

Nodding his head to the others words he smiled at him. "I don't mind, no one needs to be, nor should always be, happy." He stated as he glanced to Dummy who was enjoying her meal, she certainly was eating it fast enough.

As it seemed the discussion, and the meeting, was coming to an end the blond stood and stretched his legs with a barely there moan. Relaxing as he stood before the other he smiled brightly. "I'll pick you up then. you have my number right?" he asked with a tilt of his head. "So you can call me before you're plan lands so I can meet you at the airport. if you need to talk, or anything, while you're down there in Texas you can give me a call as well." he offered as he went to rest a hand on the others shoulder.

"I'd never forget about a friend or anyone in the Negaverse who I know." he said honestly. He could never forget those he knew in this organization, especially someone like Richard. "I hope it all goes well though. But I think you should perhaps shave before you leave for Texas and spend some time on grooming." He tried to be as teasing, and innocent, as he could so he didn't risk bothering the other. "You want to look your best after all."

To be happy all the time would have been a blessing compared to this, Richard thought, but he didn't wish to drag himself or Alexandre down any more this day. Life was so heavy as it was and though Alex definitely helped alleviate some of it, it was still a drag for him. He just needed some time to fix things... time he wouldn't have soon enough.

He didn't want Alex to leave. He didn't want to go to Texas. But he knew he had no choice in the matter. "I do. I think... yeah, yeah I do, I do. I definitely do... and as much as I appreciate it, I'll refrain from calling you in while in Sugarland. It's nothing you're going to want to be subjected to..."

Then, he chuckled, a strained sound coming from him. "Dealing with my family? I wouldn't wish it upon my worst enemies..."

The hand on his shoulder, though... made him want to reconsider the idea of shoving Alex into his luggage and taking him with him. His advice was sound, as well, and he gave a submissive bob of the head, scratching his beard and wondering how the hell it ever managed to get so bad. "Yes... must be dressed in my Sunday's best for a funeral. Here's hoping I still have a working razor after I'm done."

"I wouldn't care if you called me. You can always call me if you need anything, even if it's just to talk." He stated seriously. He was open to talking to anyone who needed to talk, or helping anyone who needed help; provided he could help of course. "I wouldn't hold anything against you or be displeased in you calling me, no matter what you had to say or rant about." He sought to assure the other that he had a friend, someone to vent to, as he stared down at the other gently.

"That bad? You wouldn't wish your family on the senshi or knights...a pity. Though I do hope your family really isn't that bad." He stated, feeling bad for the other. He really did hope the others family wasn't so bad.

Laughing he leaned down and looked at the others facial hair with a mock curious look. "Nope, not likely. I doubt your razor will survive the forest you've started to grow upon your face. But I'm sure it'll manage to finish the battle before dying." He stated with a grin in place. "You'll just have to honor the razor's death by keeping your face nice and clean from now on." He added as he continued to tease the other. "I should get going, let you ready yourself. But remember to call me for any reason - I swear I won't care." He stated as he pressed his lips quickly, and gently, to the others cheeks; right then left.

Richard let out a small, barely visible smile, thanks to his beard masking the bulk of it, and he had no energy or will to argue. He had personally known people that told him to 'call if you need anything', only to have it be a 'only call between these hours and these', and unfortunately, he knew that at times, he was one of those 'friends'. He really didn't deserve Alex, but he wouldn't argue. He was just too fed up and tired to argue. All he had the strength to do was give in, and accept that Alex was just a very good friend and he was lucky to have him.

"If I wanted to end this war, I'd send my family against our enemies... maybe I should do that. Enlist them all... the crazy nutjobs." He tugged at his beard in thought, but once again, there was no steel behind those words, coming off as an empty threat. He had tried enlisting one of his relatives, and that ended... poorly. He pushed himself to his feet, scratching Baldwin behind the ears in a pathetic attempt to let the dog know that he was going to be alright, though he was certain that the Irish wolfhound remained unconvinced. The kisses to his cheeks would have normally triggered an innuendo, but today, he just didn't have the strength. All he could do was chuckle softly, before pulling away and making the trek up the stairs. "I'll keep you informed. Hopefully this won't end in a good, old-fashioned bloodbath."

The more he thought about it, the sicker he got, and he retreated up the stairs, allowing for Alex to see himself out. "Heaven help us all..."
