Seb watched him as he ate, curious now that he'd given up mourning the snowball. "That's a nice name. Where are you from, Chane?"

He'd been about to lower his head for another bite of grass, but paused. He didn't really know where he was from but Seb had no way of knowing that, "Oh, I live around here. Not too far away really. What about you?"

"Not anywhere really. Me and my sister, we travel a lot. I think she's looking for a shelter for the night." It would be dark and cold soon. "Know of any good places?"

"Um, only really where I'm staying. But there's two, maybe three others staying there. I'm not sure it would accommodate two more," especially not if his sister was as big as he was!

Seb nodded. That made sense. "I'm sure Lily will find a good place. She always does." He took a couple of steps closer to Chane, looking him over. "Looks like you were hurt a while ago."

Chane glanced down at his leg. Of course, there was the scar on his flank and his blinded eye too, but it was his leg he that most frequently troubled him.
"Oh, yeah. Quite a while ago. I was very little when it happened. It's all healed up now."

"That's good." He nodded. It must've been scary, whatever had happened to him, especially if he was a foal. Seb decided it would be better not to ask about that now. Though he found he wanted to know everything about him, he'd just met the guy after all.
"So, these people you live with, friends of yours? Family?"

"Friends, all friends..." he muttered, lowering his head to start eating again. Was there a place nearby where he could send the stranger for the night? He wasn't even sure.

"That's awesome. I don't have very many friends myself. I guess it's cause we move around so often." He gave Chane a bit of a roguish grin. "Are they just friends?"
