"Oh, don't be afraid." She freed her arm from the hug to put her hand on his cheek, fingers momentarily twitching at the jolt of misplaced familiarity from another existence. Unsettling. "I learn very quickly when I am singularly focused. It will probably be painless, despite the potentially unnerving implications of my intention to learn everything - inside and out."
She smiled and pat him on the cheek, which somehow looked more unconvincing than encouraging.
"But if you feel that I should 'get to know you better', I can set my other projects aside to specifically dedicate my attention." It was not the greatest of sacrifices, considering the consistently high amounts of time and energy she was already putting towards this experiment, but it sounded impressive. She liked to sound impressive. "Do you want me to focus on you? I will be thorough, I assure you."
If he declined, for reasons that she could not possibly begin to fathom, she could still employ less obvious methods. Some simplicity was welcome for a little while, until a challenge presented itself, and his approval and (continued) lack of resistance would certainly make it much simpler.
Even though she did really enjoyed hearing him beg. It was a wonderful trick, which allowed her to forget that she had pleaded with him only moments ago.
"Keeping me is up to you, isn't it?" She raised her eyebrows and stared up at him. "I do want you to. It is important to me that you do, for a variety of reasons, but you will have to behave. And never run away. Or allow yourself to be led astray from me. Keeping me is not difficult if you are willing to be attentive. Are you? Think carefully - your answer to that question is my answer to yours."
