Xander gave a small laugh at Hannah's words and shook his head. He was happy to see that Lily and Hannah got on well. In this city they lived in everyone needed as many friends as they can get. It may not have been the best circumstances that a lot of the friendships seem to come about, but it hardly mattered in the end.
Lily looked at the group and smiled, before peeking out the window and seeing her brother's car. "Oh, he's here," she said quickly even though she saw neither him nor Hannah. It didn't matter because his car hadn't been there before. she stepped back quickly grinning at the door and tensing slightly as it opened in walked her brother with Hannah just behind him.
"Surprise," she shouted watching as her brother dropped the groceries on the floor and look around at everyone in the entryway.
Xander's eyes were wide and his mouth open a little, in complete shock because even with the cars out front this is not what he was expecting. He looked to Hannah and gave a small laugh, "I take it this is really why your here."
He looked to everyone gathered round. Most friends he made rather recently, "Thanks everyone, for coming," he said only half suspecting what this was all about.

When he'd turned up at Lily's home he hadn't expected to know anyone her and Xander; obviously. Now it seemed someone remembered him, someone he only just remembered, and he supposed he was glad for that. She wasn't a friend, they'd only met once, but he did know her and he supposed that was a good thing. it meant there was someone else to talk to, since he couldn't monopolize Lily and Xander's time.
"I remember. The arrangements were lovely, although I didn't get to finish one of the painting. I'm afraid someone who was staying at my home destroyed it. I did get a good portion of if done." From there he'd altered the painting in a way, which was rather creative, and showered the other half withered and dead - a play on life and death of sorts. He'd done it in an even softer manner, using more water with his colors to lighten them, as he'd made it like a ghost image of the plants fate - death.
Alex had heard Lily mention that Xander was there, finally, and he decided to find a place to make himself comfortable to wait for him to come inside. When he did Alex joined in with Lily's shout of 'Surprise' and moved to embrace the red head. "Congratulations Xander." Slate eyes bright and a smile in place as he looked up at the other before glancing around him to the female there, Hannah, and tilted his head. Yet another person he didn't know, really no surprise. "Make yourself at home." Withdrawing from Xander and tilting his head. "I knew you'd graduate. I'm just glad it finally happened - all those books and all the school work." He said with a rolling of his eyes. "However you managed it I'll never know."

Standing off to the side with a huge grin across her face, the periwinkle haired girl with a present in hand couldn't help but laugh at Xander's surprised expression and the fact he dropped his groceries. What more, when he turned to look at her when he realized her true reason for being there she couldn't help but shrug her shoulders and reply "Maybe!". At that point it probably would have been a good time to pass the gift to him but with his hands full with bags she decided it would be best to wait.
Hannah watched as a blond haired slate eyed boy approached Dr Jacobs and gave him a hug. Though when he turned his attention onto her she felt her face turn red in embarrassment. Though she had arrived at the front door with Xander she didn't want anyone to believe she had given anything away even with his priceless reaction. "Thank you." she replied with a friendly smile.
Side stepping in through the front door she weaved her way between guests over to Lily - the only other familiar face in the room. "Sorry I'm late. It looks like he's going to be preoccupied for a while, can you make sure he gets this?" she asked with a pleading expression across her face as she passed the gift off to her red haired blue-green eyed friend.

Boaz moved to shut the door the moment the Qiuyue had come through after him. Bowing slightly with a kindly smile, he slid off his coat then went about locating an available spot on the coat rack that he could hang it on. At first glance, there didn't seem to be anyone familiar among those who were invited but that didn't bother him much as was evident by the smile that he offered Lily when she made her rounds in greeting everyone and thanking them all for coming.
"Don't mention it. It is a great pleasure to be here to celebrate such an important milestone in Xander's professional career." He watched her go, musing inwardly to himself that she must be Xander's sister when what Richard managed to sneak up from behind to whisper into his ear immediately made him flush as he turned to regard the obviously amused older redhead. "... R-Richard. What are you... you're acquainted with Xander too?"
~~~~~~~~ Qiuyue was admittedly lost with this being the very first time she was attending a party like this. Nevertheless, she took Lily's proffered hand the moment it was extended to her, a small smile on her face as she gave a nod to acknowledge her suggestion of putting away her coat first before mingling with the other guests. "Nice to meet you too... Liliana." When the redhead moved on from her to the next guest, she went about looking around her for a bit until she eventually located said coat rack that she could use to deposit her coat on.
It was well worth coming to the party just to see Boaz's reaction, and he let out a rather jolly laugh, just to show that he didn't mean any harm in his statement. Boaz was a good friend of his, even if it would never reach that level of friend and Richard valued that friendship, both in and out of uniform. "Acquainted, yes. If you call saving me from drowning and making a fool of myself in front of a horde of beautiful ladies acquainted, then guilty as charged. How about you? Acquainted through medicine, I presume?"
He glanced over at Xander and flashed his fellow red head a wink, before adding, "And no need to thank us! Congratulations to you! Saving lives and all the likes... you should be proud of yourself! So go on, don't be modest! This day is for you, after all."
Well oh well, wasn't this a small world after all? Boaz mused inwardly to himself as he smiled and lifted his hand slightly to draw Xander's attention to himself. "I've always known that this day will eventually come. Congratulations Dr Xander." He would have to pass him his gift later. Knowing Xander, the poor man would probably take awhile to get over the initial shock of seeing them all in his home before eventually comprehending the cause for the celebration.
"Yeah. He was my mentor back in medical school." Turning his attention back to Richard, he gave a nod to confirm that his presumption was indeed accurate, his eyes glossing over the older redhead as he began to inquire into his near drowning incident. "Drowning? Did you per chance get tossed into the pool or ocean by one of your jilted ex-lovers?" It had been awhile since he last saw him and given how he appeared and behaved back at the pizza and booze party that Ever hosted, he couldn't help but be concerned over Richard's state of health as of late.
No worries... there's plenty to work with even though it's short ^^
Xander returned his brother's embrace before giving a small laugh. It did seem like his finishing school was a long time coming, he was after all now 28, but he was also a full doctor with a job at the hospital and patients, one of which was moving over to his sister. "I've honestly no idea. I'm surprised I don't get lost in the sauce little bro. Hopefully it will be you and Lily next having graduate celebrations."
He gave his brother another hug before moving over to Lily and Hannah giving his sister a big hug making sure not to knock Hannah's gift out of her hands, "Thanks Songbird. I don't know how you did all this."
"It wasn't easy," she said," you really ought to keep numbers all in one place, not all over your desk, in the kitchen, on you footboard. Really Xander, you're so silly."
Xander extended an arm to give Hannah a quick one armed hug and thanking her for coming before moving over to Ulane and ruffling the guys growing hair. It'd been shorter when they first met. "Thanks for coming. I'm really shocked about this. My sister is quite the little whirlwind isn't she." He gave him a quick one armed hugged before he moved over to Boaz and Richard. He'd caught their words of congratulations after he entered, but of course he wanted to greet everyone as was proper.
"Drowning and jilted ex lovers," he said slightly perplexed catching the tail end of their conversation. "I'm not sure what you two are talking about, but it doesn't sound like too much fun." He gave Boaz a pat on the back, his hand resting on his shoulder, "but seriously thanks for coming and please forewarn me if they have something at work, so I can take a lunch break out. I swear the nurses can be down right frightening when they want to be." He looked to Richard who earned a quick pat on the shoulder, "remind me to show you the pool later. It's nice and free of flying bouncy balls."
He gave a smile before moving over to Zia and Noah, "thanks for coming," he said softly before eyeing Zia suspiciously for a moment. "I'm sure Lily invited you, but you didn't come to make good on that pokemon thing right?" He looked to Noah, "not that you would know anything about plans for that?" He was joking, well only sort of. Zia was quite a character.
He noticed Quiyue and went over giving the girl a one armed hug and a smile. "Thanks for coming, hope your not overwhelmed. This is a lot different from checkers in the park." Honestly Xander himself felt a little overwhelmed, he hadn't even realized he'd made so many friends this year, when he'd been very much one to keep to himself and really not understand anyone's desire to be near him. A lot had changed in just about 12 months.
He moved over to Jessie and was tempted to ruffle his teammates hair like he'd done with Ulane, but didn't think she was appreciate it. He opted for a quick one armed snug, "Thanks for coming Jessie, hope it wasn't to hard to find someone to man the book shop for a couple hours."
Last, but certainly not least, Xander moved over to Orah giving the girl a tight hug and a happy Jacobs smile. The Jacobs were very smiley people. "Thanks for coming Orah. I appreciate it. How's the wrist? Doing okay," he said taking a moment to make sure his friend was doing well.
Lily grinned at Hannah holding the gift, "don't worry I'll put it with the other's, so he can open them later. And don't worry about being late, everything work out fine, beside your not only late one. Our friend Quinn still isnt here yet."
She turned and cleared her throat, "alright everyone, now that Xander is here and he got to greet everyone. How about we eat, then head downstairs to open gifts and have a little fun." She turned and started down the hall before disappearing into the dining room.
Is ridiculous proud I can spell everyone's name right to quote them without looking XDD
There is all kinds of food, littering the tables behind the dining room table, feel free to make it up.
Orah had shouted surprise right along with everyone when Xander had finally arrived, pleased that he looked well. However, she'd hung back as the others moved forward to greet him. For a long moment, she felt wrapped in a shell, separate from the party. Xander had so many friends... Lily too. It was... Nice to be included in that number. They both deserved what happiness they got out of life for all the things they did to safeguard the lives around them. The young woman wondered if she'd ever be as good... As worthy. A throb of her wrist reminded her of her short comings, but she didn't have long to think on it.
Startled, Orah felt reality and the noise of the party crash back down on her as Xander was suddenly there, wrapping her in a hug that said she truly was welcome here. The brunette felt her face heating, no doubt bright pink across her nose and cheeks as the taller man pulled back to ask about her wrist.
"O-oh, it's fine! It's doing well. It should be coming off soon, even. Congratulations, Xander. I'm so proud of you!" Orah said with warmth, clutching her bound wrist to her chest as she smiled a little shyly up at him. It hardly felt like enough to say to the man who had saved your life, especially with what he had done to accomplish it. Oh well.
Aaah!! That hair ruffle, aaah that HUG! Such little things, yes, but surely they made the young man's heart soar. So brief was the attention afforded to him, but knowing that he was one of the first to be acknowledge was still so very moving and touching to him! If he were more selfish, he would have not even bothered to let the hug go, keeping the doctor all to himself.
Alas, he was not such a soul and the moment that he was let go, he was off again, following behind the bouncing younger sister like a duckling after it's own mother.
"I'll help in any way I can, Lily! Just let me know what I can do!"
Richard listened to Boaz with keen interest, curious as to why he didn't think the two wouldn't have known each other, given their profession. Perhaps it was wrong of him to assume that all medical students knew each other, but at the same time, it was still a rather safe assumption, right? Though given Boaz surprise, it seemed clear that Xander didn't mention him and their encounter, but it was hard to take offense. The two of them were busy! When did one have time to talk about a certain red-head making a fool of himself in the pool when they were replacing someone's heart or something?
He openly laughed as Boaz question, before answering, little shame in his voice. "Hahahaha, no, no, they tend to find a more life threatening way of getting that point across I'm afraid. No, this was simply me failing at the doggie paddle... my ego suffered more than my lungs actually did."
Thus far, Boaz hadn't brought up Ever's pizza party, and Richard was keen on keeping it that way. Let the past stay in the past... Xander's words were the perfect distraction and he flashed his fellow red-head a wink, chuckling playfully as he considered his offer. "I hope you brought little floaties for my arms, assuming they make them my size. With any luck our next swimming lesson won't end with some mouth-to-mouth."
Which brought his gaze to Lily, and he mused throwing a compliment her way, though she seemed too busy with her host duties. Maybe by the end of the party he could help her unwind...
A bit of relief washed over Hannah knowing that she wasn't the last one to arrive; that there was still at least one more guest that had yet to arrive. Glancing about the room she made mental notes and observations of the other guests; from the blond haired boy that greeted her at the door to the tall red haired man and purple haired woman. Truth be told, aside from Lily and Xander she didn't recognize any of the other any faces in the crowd; which in truth wasn't a bad thing.
Feeling a bit out of place yet knowing Xander would be busy entertaining his guests and friends, the periwinkle haired girl stood close next to his sister Lilly with a bit of a nervous smile on her face. It had been well over two years at this point since she had been in the company of such jovial guests. It was nice to see people mingling without worry or care.
Hannah waited for Lily to finish her announcement before striking up a conversation with her friend "I'm impressed! Your place looks amazing and it seems you gathered quite the crowd." she said as she fell in step beside the curly red haired girl as they followed the crowd downstairs "Is there anything I can help with?" she inquired. Standing around idly hoping to maybe draw up the courage to talk to someone wasn't exactly her style; helping however was.
