"Well perhaps when the two of us return to home, you can join us?" He looked over at Chane, and smiled some. "And as for that, you're not bothering me any... And I doubt Chane is bothered, since he's getting to collect his barks. He's very good at medicinal healing."
He paused, and thought a moment. "Out of curiosity, how well do you know this area?" If the fellow knew the area well, he might know where the cave they sought was! "We're looking for a nearby cave, and well... if you knew of it, were it is...?"

Euthyphro paused a moment, eyes flicking up to look upwards as though trying to remember something, "Well no. I'm new here, just passing through really. But I did see a cave with a fairly large entrance from the air. Might that be it?"
Chane tilted his head, "It could be. We don't know much about the cave outside of rumors. Could you lead us there?"
He nodded, "Certainly, the terrain in the area seemed a bit rough though." He glanced at Miro then hurriedly added, "It might not be as bad as I thought. It's hard to tell from the air sometimes how things are."

Miro licked his lips, thinking about the terrain, and how tired he currently felt. He didn't want to sound, or feel weak, but he was still healing. He knew it. He also was aware that if he pushed it too soon, he could end up reinjuring the parts of him that had healed so far. He lowered his head, staring at a leaf in front of his nose while he tried to decide if he wanted to risk it... or rest here while the others went on ahead. Finally, he gave a soft, but deep, sigh.
"I... think I need to wait here, then. I'm still feeling tired. Perhaps if it IS the cave, one of you can return and guide me to it? That way I don't risk slipping and hurting myself all over again on a cave that isn't the right one... And if it is, I can then help find what we're after...?" He looked back up at the others, thoughtful.

Chane nodded, "That's for the best. I'm not strong enough to carry you back if you hurt yourself. Remember that this cave may only be a rumor. If you feel like you should return home and rest then you should listen to your body."
He exchanged a few more words with Euthyphro, then the pair promised to check back here when they returned before heading off into the woods.

Stargazer lopped along down the path. Upon his back he carried a basket filled to the brim with early season flowers, herbs and roots. All of which were perfect for a three pony lunch. He had been getting a drink at the river this morning when the other two stallions had decided to leave for their trip, and had missed his chance to join them. This seemed like the perfect opportunity to catch up and see if he could get himself invited along on their little outing. It never once occurred to him that they might have left him behind intentionally.
Following their trail was easy enough. Injured as they were they stuck mostly to open paths and easy trails.
"Miro!" he called out as the stallion came into site. "I brought some lunch!"

Miroqi watched his healer, and good friend, leave with the stranger. Part of him felt qualms... Being alone made him slightly nervous these days... But he wasn't worried for Chane. If an Angeni couldn't protect him, no one could. He was utterly convinced of that. He sighed softly, and leaned down to nibble some grass tips that were peeking up out of the dirt, when he heard his name called.
He looked up, his eyes wide and startled, before his brain caught up to him, and he realized it was that child in a stallion's body. He controlled the urge to sigh deeply. It wasn't that he didn't LIKE Stargazer, for he DID. He just could only take so much of the younger fellow's energy, especially right now, when he was trying to heal.
Still, he brought lunch? That was kind, and thoughtful. He smiled at Star calmly. "Hey Star. That was most lovely of you. Chane and... and Euthyphro... went on ahead to examine a cave." He paused, then added "Euthyphro is an angeni we met." when he realized that, right, oh yes, Star hadn't met him.

Stargazer bowed so he could slide the basket off his back, down a pair of outstretched wings, and onto the ground. It would have been graceful if the basket hadn't snagged on a few scales and threatened to topple the whole way down to the ground. When it didn't Stargazer seemed quite proud of himself.
He hadn't noticed that Chane wasn't there, so when Miro pointed it out he turned and scanned the glade quickly to see if he could spot the smaller grey stallion. He had been about to ask who Euthyphro was when Miro told him that as well. He nodded. Chane would be safe in the company of an angeni. A smile crossed his lips. That meant that protecting Miro now fell to him!
"Didn't bring enough for four."
