Tora gently petted the girl. "I don't think your a bad girl. Your momma just wanted a vacation." She was trying to think quickly. Anything to try and cheer the little one up.
"Daddies are nice pae. They take you in when mommies need a break. They make sure you're as well behaved as your mommy does." Tora gently kissed Alma's forehead. "And your daddy is most certainly not scary. Do you wanna know how I know that?" She grinned, holding the tot gently.

Alma started to brighten up, smiling as she was told she wasn't a bad girl. She tried not to be bad, falling off the cliff was an accident. The not growing up she hadn't figured out. When she asked she just got in trouble.
"I try to be a good girl and behave." She spoke with confidence and smiled more. Really she tried and she wanted Tora to believe it. To punctuate it, she taped Tora on the shoulder just a light touch. Her eyes were wider in her earnest.
Tilting her head in curiosity, she placed on finger on her chin and asked, "How do you know that?" Since it was asked, yes she did what to know. Already she was feeling better and certainly took a liking to Tora.

"And you do a darn good job at being good Alma." She smiled, giggling a bit when she tapped her shoulder. "And your daddy will be so proud of you." As soon as he knows you exist. Probably.
The demoness flicked her tail, slightly worried about Razi. Or was she still mad at him? Tora decided she was still mad at him, but there would be no way she'd ever let the sweet little one know that. She seemed to have enough of a hard time from her mother. "I know because I live with your Daddy. He's a very good daddy too." She grinned, ruffling Alma's hair just a little. "Want to go meet him?"

Alma bounced a little in Tora's arms as she smiled. Her little pig tails and antenna dancing with her excitement. This was the first time she had been told she had done a good job at being. With a trill in her voice she exclaims, "He will?" Beaming she wrapped her arms around Tora's neck giving her a hug and nuzzling her cheek against Tora's
Pulling back, her eyes went wide and her smile followed, "You live with Daddy? Yay I get to stay with you!" She cheered in place tossing her arms up in celebration. At least she knew she liked Tora and she was sure now she'd like her Daddy.
Nodding she said with a giggle, "Ready!" She'd lost her fears and had at this point forgotten the distress of losing her mother.

Tora grinned, nodding. "Of course he will." She did squeak when Alma nuzzled into her. She wasn't quite used to a child's affections anymore. It'd been a while since her own children were this small. It really made Tora wonder when Raziel had been out without her knowing. This little girl couldn't have been more than a few seasons old.
"Always Alma. You won't have to leave me until you want to." She nodded, grinning big time. Yep, this kid was all hers now. Didn't matter if she was super mad at Razi or not.
Alma was ready to go meet her daddy. "Okay! But first, I need you to be suuuuper quiet. I'm going to show you something really neat." Tora had a serious face on. "But I can't show you if you make a noise when I start. After you see the first one you can start talking again." Tora nodded again, knowing she'd spoken to her lanterns more than what would seem normal.

Beaming she said gleefully, "Good! My Aunty T!" She felt so good, feeling like she wouldn't have to lose someone that liked her and she liked back. The anxiety she had harbored just melted away as she started humming.
At the request of being quite Alma started to say something. Thinking better of it, she took both hands and placed them one atop the other on her mouth. Nodding her head she looked around wondering what it was she would see.

Tora grinned, happy to see that smile.
it took her a moment, scrunching up her face in concentration. Tora was calling upon her lanterns to guide her where she was meant to go. It wasn't hard, she knew it. But that didn't mean she didn't have a hard time trying to get them to come back when she wanted them there.
With a grunt the first lantern winked into sight. "Ahhh..." She sighed, starting to walk forward. "You can talk now Alma. You did a good job being quiet."

Looking around in wonder, the little child waited for whatever it was she was looking for. For a few moments she wondered if she would know what it was, that was until she saw it. The lantern popped up out of no where and she stared at it. Her Grannie could make anything appear but she'd never seen this before.
It was only when she was told she could talk that she let her hand fall and let out a soft 'ooh'. She looked to Tora and asked, "You can do it too? Just like Grannie? Is it real-real or 'lusion?" She tilted her head and then reached out for the lantern not understanding that it was different the the magic she knew.

"It's real-real in it's own way." Tora smiled, watching the first lantern fade out as another took it's place. "All these pretty lanterns, they're ghoooooosts." She made the traditional ghost sound, giggling. They were very kind lanterns when they weren't trying to lead her places she didn't necessarily want to go when they wanted her to go.
"They'll take us to go see your daddy if we just follow them." Tora knew she would have to thank the lanterns later, they had done her a great kindness today. Between leading her to Alma, and then returning her home, the lanterns had been very generous.

Alma listened to what she as told, keeping her eyes on the lanterns. They were very pretty and fascinated her. Nothing Grannie could make was real-real, these were. Cooing in wonder, the child was utterly thrilled with the new objects.
She squealed at the ghost sounds before breaking into a peel of laughter. Clapping her hands she looked as happy as can be. Pointing to the direction they seemed to go she called out gleefully, "Thata way!" No intent to get down, she held on to Tora with one had while the other stayed pointing at the lantern.
Her little wings fluttered as an extension of her utter joy.

Tora giggled, enjoying the sound of the girls laughter. It had been so long since she'd heard a sound like that. At least since her own children were that age. With a smile, the demoness held onto Alma, walking her to wherever the lanterns believed they both needed to go.
"Very good Alma." She grinned. "Keep pointing the way, they can be tricky little things."

Proudly Alma did just as she was encouraged to do, pointing. With her eyes narrowed, the child had a look of utter concentration. It wouldn't last long and the moment an idea entered her mind, she looked away and asked Tora, "Aunty T, do you think they could take us to the beach one day? I have a friend I want to bring shells too." Remembering Ela and her promise, the child continued to babble about thinks she'd like to do, "Ela can't leave so I wanted to bring her cool stuff that she can't see."
With big, begging eyes she asks, "Can we one day?" They were going to see Daddy, so to day just wouldn't do. But one day could be tomorrow. Oh she hoped it was as close as tomorrow.

"Of course we can go to the beach." Tora grinned, deciding to let Alma figure out they lived by the beach on her own. "Do you have many friends?" Tora asked, honestly curious if the young girl had much of a life outside of that mother of hers.
"I'll make sure you get to go to the beach very soon." Tora promised, wanting to make sure Alma had the best transition she possibly could.

Alma cheered clapping her hands before she paused in mid clap. Looking down at her hand, she quickly went back to pointing at the lantern. The other hand ended up waving around excitedly, "Thank you, Aunty T!" She was thrilled with the idea of getting to go to the beach. The one time she got close didn't go too well.
At mentioning of friends she started excitedly, "There is Ela, she lives near a scary cave." Then she paused trying to think if her Grannie and Momma counted as friends. Well, not Momma, she was Momma, "Grannie is my friend, but I haven't seen her in a long time." The reason she didn't seem sad about it was she still believed her Grannie was nearby, just hiding for whatever reason.
She didn't know that Grannie was no where near the area and continued to hold her belief. "I can't wait! Always wanted to see a real-real beach! Not cliffs, I don't like those." The statement was ended with a pout. The memory fresh in her mind has it had only happened a day ago.

Tora smiled, kissing the side of Alma's head. "Anything and any time you want Alma." Tora offered, happy to keep the little one happy.
Only two friends? That was more than Tora had but she should still have more friends. A little girl should have a ton of friends, able to go and see and play with them. That's what little kids did. Wasn't it? No matter, Tora thought they should. "You're going to have a bunch more friends." She nodded, as if making it a true statement.
"We'll go very very soon. I promise you." She grinned, "And stay very very far away from cliffs."
