With a good catch up, Kiki-Jiki was able to make a litte headway, making up for the terrible start. He was at the back, but with good speed, he could come back to the front.

Poor performance on that last leg. He was already kicking himself for letting that eccentric idiot pass him, but the others were also gaining on or getting in front of him. This wasn't the way to be the best! He needed to focus, and really bear down on the next few sections if he wanted to take back the lead after that s**t performance.

"I won't lose...not to anyone," he bit out as he curled around the station, heading back in the direction of the bridge quickly for the turnaround.

Gin slammed his hand against the handelbar as he began to fall behind, almost to an unrecoverable distance, but he quickly wrapped his fingers around the bar again as he tried to catch up. Nix was already ahead of him, just like she'd declared, and while it wasn't a personal race it did help him feel that much more engaged that he had someone with equal quality to race against, and to try to beat... "I haven't given up Nix, don't get cocky. I'm just getting started!" Gin made the declaration loud and clear, as he tried to weave through Port Island before they ended up on the busy Bridge again, this small man-made island a good place for some surprise turn arounds.

"Ho...huh? Get ready to witness the power of a true summoner elite!"

"Whoa! My gosh, these things are fast!" the summoner's eyes went wide as he flew off of the bridge and into the island city of Port, his bike humming at a breakneck pace through the streets, leading him swiftly towards the second half of this Stage in quite the hurry. His mind was still humming over quips and comebacks to the first stage's proclamations, but he had other things to worry about with the riders around him doing their best. He was trying, flying, but none of it was enough to really keep him in the lead.

He'd need skill and a nice bike...the latter of which he had, and the former...well...he was Jakken! "Chin up, Nia, I'll bring you that trophy yet..."

...What trophy?

Tezuka kept speeding along, watching as everyone shifted places around him, the scary silver haired girl passing them up, the woman with the visor outpacing him....the Scary Number one guy....
"So many...interesting....people." Tezuka muttered, still shaky as he continued to drive, going along the bridge, and doing his best to avoid hitting anyone.
Jakken was doing really good, even if he seemed a bit...out there, and the slightly rugged looking guy seemed to have a relation with the scary silverete in the lead. Tezuka took another gulp as he continued to drive on, not really in the spirit of the race, but in making it out in one piece.

Weaving through the paths of the Port Island Streets was easy, fun, and his speed off the bridge had been considerable enough that he wasn't falling behind anyone just yet. Nix had fallen back just a step, but she would catch up to him in an instant, he had no doubts. Her skill on the bike had already gained enough of a reputation that it had drawn him here on his own bike to test out her skills and those of the competition...Gin's reputation was just as strong, of course, but he really wasn't listening for information about dudes in the first place.

"This is just as fun as I thought it would be," he smiled easily, plainly, looking back at Nix just once as if waiting for her to catch back up to him. Riding your bike for fun was good...riding with a beautiful girl beside you was much better.

Nix was ahead of him, and it looked like she wasn't going to lighten up no matter how confident she was; that was good, because if he felt like she was giving it anything less than her all, then he wouldn't have been satisfied with the results of the race no matter who ended up winning. He wanted to see Ms. Death on Wheel's true talent, and he'd be satisfied with nothing less! "Is that all you've got Nix? I'm going to pass you if you're not careful; you better keep your eyes on the road, your hand on the gas, and prepare for the race of your life!" Although it was a bluff for now, Nix still pulling out ahead, there was still time for the dream to become reality...and he definitely wanted to sink his teeth into a big, juicy W this time.

Kanade moved a bit faster, but didn't rocket out too fast, feeling Shu's grip on her tigthen little by little.
"She's getting away.." she muttered to herself, starting to grip the handlebars.
"Careful.." Shu called, quietly.
Kanade nodded, moving about a bit slower than before. She was driving carefully, even if it meant the race was quickly slipping out of her grasp. She wanted to rocket ahead, but..

There was something about the Moonlight Bridge...something beautiful and full of sadness about the sight of looking over the side at the water and the distance, whether day or night...he wondered idly if everybody felt the same as they crossed the long stretch of suspended road. His mind was still focused on the race most of all, however, and as he sped out of the bridge and through the streets of the Island itself, he passed several landmarks that made him feel much the same. The station where the boy from SEES had been reported murdered not so long ago...the giant Mist Wall Tower that had been attacked little more than a week ago...Gekkoukan, sight of the Nyx Incident...the whole city was filled with dark memory. He even saw a few stray Strega fliers.

"A city of sadness," he whispered to himself, cognizant of the efforts the Kirijo had made to turn that around...and just how far they had yet to go, "But these races bring something...a cheer...excitement. It's life..." These were merely thoughts for himself, however. Nobody else really needed to hear him wax lyrical about the city or the track. Nobody really needed to know how he was inside...did they?

"Freakin Hell..." she grumbled, as her bike seemed to refuse to go any faster. She kept along at the same, glacial pace through the traffic, swerving to dodge, and watching as the leaders...widened the gap considerably. She gripped her handlebars in annoyance, as she watched the other two that were with her pass her too.
"Dead last..." she grumbled, trying to make up speed as they moved into port Island.
