Shun closed his good eye as he listened hard and waited. He did pick up some sounds of footsteps, but at some point, the noises had stopped. Carefully, he leaned around the edge of the trunk to gander about. He couldn't see Mitsu anywhere in sight.
This was a good sign. At least she wasn't out in the open once more. With some thought, he looked down at the snowball in his hand with some consideration. He took in a breath, then lobbed it over to a bush some distance away, causing the branches to rustle. He kept close to the tree, barely peaking around to see if he could catch any movement.

Mitsu was a fair distance away but she could still hear some noise coming from somewhere behind her. She considered lifting her head to peek or even getting up to investigate but instead stayed right where she was. Likely it was just another dust bunny moving around in the shrubbery. If it wasn't...then it was a trap.

Shun watched, waiting. He didn't pick up on anything. This was another good sign, unless she wasn't actually anywhere near the bush. But if she was, it meant she didn't fall for his ruse so easily. The Reaper scanned about once more, then crouched down. He moved low to the ground and as quietly as he could to a different spot. This one was behind another brush. From here, he peered through the boughs to see if he could spot anything just yet.

And thus Mitsu stayed put waiting for some sign that Shun was getting closer. He was usually pretty quiet but she kept her eyes peeled and her ears perked.

He still wasn't picking up on any movement anywhere. Shun packed up another snowball and looked up and around. Some of the tree branches had a fair bit of snow within them. Carefully, he aimed, then launched the snowball at one of the branches, causing the snow to drop down with a louder thud.

This time the snow hit a little closer to home. The large quantity of snow fell from the trees and flopped down and around Mitsu with a thud leaving her to yelp. She realized quickly this was a mistake but since her cover was already blown she quickly darted from her hiding place and made a run for it. Her next best option was to gain some more distance and hide again before Shun could find her location. Considering he could cheat and shadow step she had to be fast.

This time, he got something. Shun peered through the bush leaves and caught sight of some quick movement. He poked his head above the bush a little to try and get a better view. He wasn't about to make his move just yet, but he wanted to have a decent idea of where she was going to be so that he might have an easier time of getting the jump on her.
Satisfied with his glance, he shifted from his position, moving behind a different log from the one she had sprung from.

Mitsu's idea had been to get a fair distance away. More than a few mere yards. It was just too bad fate didn't have the same idea. This time when she tripped it actually was because there was something in her path and she went tumbling forward and down a small slope out of sight. The slope ended in a creek bed which was fairly wide across though luckily for Mitsu it was frozen over pretty solid. Unluckily it was a skating rink and she as she tried to regain some sort of balance she found herself sliding out in the middle of the creek on her rear. It was there she sat confused and unsure what to do.

Shun furrowed his brow as he heard a series of light thuds off in the distance where Mitsu was supposedly. What the hell had just happened? He waited a little while, then went to advance as per his plan. However, he was moving with a little extra caution. He went from place of cover to cover, pausing here and there.
Though, he soon noticed a large disturbance in the snow. Probably the first part of the thuds he heard. Blinking, he stared at this, then followed the trail of markings down with his gaze.

Still stuck in the middle of the stream Mitsu was in the battle of trying to find her way back to the bank. Slowly she got to her hands and knees which in and of itself was a task. The icy was so slippy that keeping herself upright was taking all of her concentration.
Her eyes darted around shortly but she still had yet to see Shun. Perhaps she was safe for now. That meant she had a little bit of time. If she hurried she could still get to cover.
But in the spirit of hurrying Mitsu tried to put her feet underneath herself and they just didn't want to cooperate with the idea. They slipped and slid every which way until she finally settled them underneath herself. Rising was the next challenge and it didn't come without its own consequences. As she began to rise her balance began to waver, her legs wouldn't stay in place on the slippery ice and just as she was nearly vertical her arms went flailing in a mad fit to keep her upright. It failed of course as she went crashing back on the ice on her back.

Shun was carefully making his way down the bank, pausing behind a larger mound of snow. It was here that he managed to spot Mitsu again at the bottom, on what appeared to be a frozen creek of sorts. It looked like she was having a little bit of trouble keeping her balance on the ice. With a furrowed brow, he tried to think of what he should do here.
It was almost too easy to strike right now.
Though, he supposed an opportunity should never be passed up upon. For now, he began to advance quietly and low to the ground, trying to get around behind her.

Since she wasn't having much luck with two legs maybe she would have better luck with four. Managing to roll over on her belly Mitsu pushed herself back up on her hands and knees. It was a tricky process but she made it happen. From there she focused until she could feel the shift coming on. Somehow she expected the weight and the paws to give her better control but as soon as all four feet hit the ice she was sliding, though slower, her claws scraping loudly.
Her feet were spread apart on the ice rather awkwardly but at least this time she hadn't taken another fall. Perhaps this would work out. She took a chance and lifted a paw and moved it forward having a hard time gaining traction again as her claws dug into the ice. At least she would be able to get somewhere this way but it was far from fast. All the while she had no idea Shun was on the prowl behind her.

Shun paused once he was at the edge of the creek, watching as Mitsu shifted into her lupine form. She seemed to be... a little less slippery on the ice as a wolf, but she still appeared to be struggling some. The Reaper tilted his head then looked to the ice.
He shifted his stance, getting ready to pounce. She was too far into the creek for him to leap to, but that wasn't a problem.
Suddenly, he lunged out onto the ice. Once he landed, he was sliding towards her at a pretty quick rate. His goal was to more or less tackle or ram the wolf.

Mitsu's wolfish eyes grew a little wide when she heard a thud behind her. She turned her head just enough to see Shun sliding his way toward her with great speed. With no real traction there wasn't any way for her to move so instead he just rammed right into her sending her falling into the ice and the both of them sliding to the other end of the creek until they finally came to a stop crashing into a deep pile of snow.

In a way, Shun supposed that his attack helped Mitsu out of her predicament. He was dazed for just a moment as they were in a rather large pile of snow. Shaking his head, he pushed himself away from her before ducking around the other side of the mound quickly. Hopefully she didn't quite catch that.
