  Jo(shu) Michieru Jo(shu) pretty much expected that it wouldn't be easy, and as Kyouji, even with reduced speed, managed to completely floor them.
Well, figures. he thought to himself, before starting to push himself back up. At this, his Master's words called out to him again...before he heard something else entirely..
"Shu, I need your Help! Lend me your strength!" the voice called...Aussa's voice. Jo(shu) started to move at this, before shaking his head. He'd moved to protect his charmers so much it was a reflex...but, feeling the swell of power, he merely raised his hand, grasping at the energies he could feel connecting them, and focused his magnetite.
"It's All On you." he called, only paused enough to aim his Detective's pistol in the direction of the Hua Po. He had to aim a bit ahead, though the intent of the attack wasn't to try to kill the summon...It was to merely catch it off guard. And with his enhanced senses, and energies, thanks to the power Aussa had lent him prior.....
It might be just what she needed.
Aussa herself focused her energy, even as the tiny Hua-Po demon started at her. She could feel her power Rising...Her energy spiking. Shu was giving her all the magnetite she could need, and with the light bit of cover fire on the Hua-Po, Aussa just had to do what came naturally. She raised her hands and focused at the energy inside of her to her palm, aiming carefully. Shu wasn't trying to dive and take the Lethal blow recklessly anymore....He could tell tell that she could handle it...And she wouldn't let that trust be betrayed, as she let her inner power expand outward. Her inner strength was to be revealed.
The pent up energy suddenly burst forth at this, as her body started to glow, and the ground beneath her started to shake.
"This is.." she remarked, before planting her heel into the ground to bring up a Spike of Earth to her palm. In moments, she'd grasped it firmly, then Tossed it with a keen, precise eye at her attacker.

Red felt himself get easily handled by Kyouji, tumbling to the ground, with a stern reprimand. She could have easily killed him if this wasn't a lesson, a thought he knew wasn't an exaggeration.
"My Apologies." he called, before dusting himself off, and switching tubes.
Sparky, Return. he thought, before a familiar jack-o-lantern demon appeared, with a light cackle. Pyro Jack, front and Center.
He held up his guard at this, before watching the small red demon starting after Shu's own with a...deadly sense of aggression. Red started to move on instinct, before seeing the look on Jo(shu)'s face. It wasn't of fear, but...
Trust. He hesitated, but shook his head, turning back to Kyouji as he gestured.
"Jack, you're up." he called, the little pumpkin headed demon swinging it's lantern. For a second, he was going to go with bolstering everyone's defense....But then he tapped his head, and gestured slightly to the left, the Demon starting to focus energy, and fire off an Agilao Skill at the Kuzunoha. It wasn't the strongest of demons, but It wasn't going to make itself look bad-ho. Quote: Red:Swap Sparky for Pyro Jack, Defend Pyro Jack: Agilao. [Kyouji] Weapon: Young Trainer's Gloves [Power charge strikes every 3 turns] [2/3] Armor: Young Trainer's Jacket. Asuka Bokuro
 Asuka was sent back, and fell to the floor with Kiyoji's kick, a few, small coughs escaping her mouth before she stood back up, taking in her master's words, "Y-Yes, Master." she said before taking up her fighting stance again, the wind around her arms becoming more noticeable, as Corielisa took her place beside her summoner.
The two would look at each-other and nod, before moving in opposite directions, looking to surround Kiyoji, the didn't move with haste, rather, they moved with caution, steadily, never taking their eyes off her, as if a beast stalking it's prey.
Asuka moved in front of Kiyoji, holding her blade ready in one hand, and a whirlwind of air encircling the other. Corielisa went around behind, paws up, eyes wide, but yet, her face still retained it's feline smile.
Asuka moved in quickly toward Kiyoji again, looking as if she was going to attack, however, at the last moment, placed a cushion of air onto the ground, jumping onto it and being sent high into the air, landing with her Demon companion behind her Master, without a word, the two of them each launched a blast of wind, the forces combining and being sent toward the great summoner, linking in time with Red's attack. With all that was happening in front of him, Yatsuda had realized that it was not just a confused bout between his allied summoners and their teacher, but a learning test between them. With that, he understood what had happened, and the problems that came with being as late as he was. So, he had decided to jump into the fray instead of standing on the sidelines while his allies were being tested because, he himself was an apprentice of the Grand Summoner. With it, he had pulled out the tube from within the confines of his coat, and from it summoned his familiar demon, Yuki-hime, and went in for the strike against the Grand Master with the cane that he had gotten, a direct thrust towards her. "I do hope that you can forgive a late pupil for barging in, selfishly and ungentleman-like. But I saw my allies fighting, and I didn't want to leave them with one person short.  Mir"Remember, one of a Summoner's greatest weapons is her ability to work together with partners. Like the old Roman legions, a group working together can be far more powerful than its individual components are. Work with your partners, adapt to the circumstances, and overcome your problems." Getting too wrapped up in doing things one way could leave a lot of weaknesses open... and allowing your opponents to decide everything meant that you were playing by their rules instead of your own. It was much better to force them to react to what you were doing, rather than hoping you could withstand their plans. A combination of abilities could yield a drastically greater effect, something she'd seen in action many times before... especially if you could exploit whatever weaknesses they had and twist them to your advantage. It was also good to have a few surprises up your sleeves, just in case you needed a trump card or two, and Mir smiled slightly. Well, at least she'd mostly settled on a choice for her own Apprentice, though today was proving to be quite valuable even without that little bonus.

Kyouji Kuzunoha X, Great Summoner of the Yatagarasu
"What's honorable is all a matter of perspective...I just do what's necessary."It was a pleasure to watch them grow, even in the midst of battle; it was forcing her apprentice's hand to have Hua Po dive so fearsomely into Aussa's center, yet she had no doubts that with his back to the wall he would continue to do what he had always done...rise to the occasion. She didn't have time to focus on one singular opponent, however, as the others who were gathered had already redoubled their efforts to land their first blood attacks on the Great Summoner. Red heeded her advice and hung back to let the Pyro Jack test her defenses for a round; the moderate fire would have singed a weaker enemy significantly...Kyouji let her cloak fall over her eyes and whirled out of the way, though if she had absorbed some damage from the spell was left to the imagination of her enemies. She moved like water flowing from one attack to another and reacting to the movements of her enemies as though she could see them far ahead of time. This was a mixture of skill and instinct, the type you could only get from an extended career of battle...one which she had been prepared for all of her life. Her cape flourished as she caught sight of Asuka and her devil coordinating their attacks...stalking around her smoothly. Her movements showed the results of the training that she had long been privy to as a member of the Crows; the calm belied their predatory nature as they closed in.
Asuka came straight at her...a surprising tactic that the summoner doubted she would try twice in a row. But the real surprise came as she launched herself to the far side of her master and landed alongside her demon, two blasts of powerful wind aimed at her back in hopes of putting her to the ground while she was still hampered by surprise. In her mind's eye she could see the two working in unison, and the creativity of the whole thing made her smile proudly even as the wind closed in on her. Silver flashed between her fingers as two more tubes slide from her pouch into her grip and flashed...and in the puff of smoke that accompanied the devil's appearance the green blast of air crashed inside with enough force to knock the wind out of the summoner...and yet, as the smoke faded away, her eyes peered devilishly out from beneath her hood, a minimal damage if any affecting her. And the source of the defense was evident before her, casting a shadow over her slight form...a female demon, leaned back with luxurious blonde hair...a cool, confident smirk upon crimson lips. This was another of their master's companions...the demon Leanan Sidhe. Who was quite resistant to Wind, as it happened.
"Very good. Now you're thinking like a summoner on the battlefield," her compliment was coy, however, as the smile upon her lips seemed to challenge her to do more than the simple scrapes and dust stains on her cloak she had received so far...but before she could continue that thought and perhaps encourage her a little more, the white-haired final apprentice of the four made his belated appearance and thrust the sword directly at her back in hopes of aiding his fellow summoners. This time, she didn't even look...her hand seized the shaft of the cane behind her and caught the blade a mere inch from her flesh and less from the fabric of her cloak...and though she might have overpowered him with effort, she merely redirected his force so that the cane passed by her side and her apprentice along with it...his foot catching on her own to send him stumbling forward onto his face only a few feet before her as Leanan Sidhe looked on with no small hint of amusement upon her elegant features. Kyouji's own mirth was barely contained, only by the severity of the lesson she was trying to teach. "And now that we're all here, let's really kick things up a notch. ...Yatsuda, I'll make you a deal; since you're late, you have to hit me. If you can't, I'm keeping your gemstones. It pays to be on time in our line of work."
...
On the far side of the field, the fairy that bore down on the Charmer came face-to-face with a rude awakening. As expected...as he always seemed to do in a way that made his master proud of him...he had listened to her advice and the voice of his summon, rising to Aussa's call to awaken the power hidden deeper within her. She was more than simply a Charmer now, a unique class of devil that none were half as proficient in commanding as Jo(Shu), she had evolved into something stronger...something truly powerful and worthy of the name he might one day inherit. The Charmer had become Cataclysmic...and the Earth Spike she launched served the perfect counter-punch to the reckless charge of Hua Po, striking at the devil with more than enough force to knock her unconscious in a blow! Sensing her devil's impending defeat, Kyouji recalled the slight summon and slid the tube back into her holster...declaring that particular ally effectively finished for the duration of the fight! That was the rule she had imposed in her head...even if she could revive them, she wouldn't. Every KO, every submission, every defeat on Kyouji's side would be final...and if they could find some way to take even her down, well...they might even exceed her expectations.
"I never had any doubts," she smirked over her shoulder at Shu, moving her feet calmly and shortly in a tiny circle, a technique that gave her maximum vision of her surroundings with minimal effort and movement...it helped to see from which angle the attack would come when you were surrounded by enemies, another simple physical movement that could only be developed and learned in the heat of battle, "Now, the real battle begins...I call upon you, Futsunushi!"
The second tube she had drawn appeared between her fingers as she tossed it into the sky, the majestic warrior in his meditative pose appeared before her with blades circling around his bottom appeared before her. Her lips curled into a smirk as one of the swords slowly ascended into the hands of the devil and its gaze fell across the field on the Charmed King...its gaze was calm, stern, powerful...and in a flash the warrior god was across the field and its blade was passing through an enemy! ...Not Shu, but Aussa, who resistant as she was to Physical Attacks remained no match for the absolute might of a devil on the level of Futsunushi! The Twilight Prince had promised to kick things up a notch...and without a doubt, she had kept her word.
"Remember, even when you become strong...there is always someone stronger. You have to adapt, and use your wits to survive," her words were sharp, pointed...one might find it cold for her to drive home such a point during a moment of evolution and triumph for her apprentice, but this was only the beginning of their fight. It wouldn't do for him to go resting on his laurels just yet. "Listen closely to each and every one of your devils...another one is calling out to you right now. As their summoner grows, so will the allies you command. Hear their voice...and answer them! Leanan Sidhe...go!"

Answering her master's call with a wink, the haughty demon's lax movements grew deadly sharp in an instant...her feet touched the ground only long enough to shoot herself across the field and extend her deadly claws, drawn back and firing the razor-like tips into a single target...the chest of Jo(Shu) Michieru...and if he failed this test, there wouldn't be another.
He'd simply be another wasted spirit left to haunt her...like all those who came before...and all who would come thereafter.Quote: Kyouji Kuzunoha X

 Jo(shu) Michieru And Lyna the Light Charmer Jo(shu) gave a confident smirk as Aussa's power seemed ot swell, and explode out, her energy giving rise to a new form. He could feel energy radiating off of her....Though, as his master raised up a hand to swap out demons, he paused. Futsunushi was an overpowering demon....Completely knocking Aussa out of the park, even with her resistance. Shu started to stand back a bit, feeling his master starting to get serious.....Before one of her demons started after him. If the blow struck him, it would most certainly be lethal....But as his master called out, he could hear it...He knew who's voice it was.
And in a flash, as he gripped the ribbon that he had obtained, and put even the slightest amount of energy into it, a white haired figure seemed to jump out, her hand taking his, as she raised her staff."This time, It's My time to shine!" She called out, energy flowing between her summoner's hand and into her, as energy started to pool up...Before she thrust it forward at the attacking demon, and letting it all burst out in a massive, Light-Elemental explosion

Red kept his guard up as Kyouji seemed to have dodged the Pyro Jack's attack. He wasn't sure if it connected or not, but one thing was for sure..
The power of a Kuzunoha is...stunning. he thought, before shaking his head, and starting around. Pyro Jack, Return. he thought, flicking the tube, to swap out. The jack-O-lantern vanished for a bit, before a snake-lady came out, one of his most reliable summons.
"Lamia...Turn up the Heat." he muttered lightly, his magnetite flowing enough to power her up...Before she let loose a surge of flames that would assail the Kuzunoha, and all of her summons. However, the true goal of the attack was hidden, for while it seemed he was standing back for another round, he had jumped forward again, energy in his Gloves having gathered, as he moved to throw another punch at Kyouji, to both deter her from trying to dodge the attack of the flames...And to help out Yatsuda with his mission. He may have been late, but Red was always willing to try to help A friend out.

With Yatsuda having been tripped up by the Grand Summoner, his attack not haven hit it's mark, he had fell downward onto his face. After quickly getting back to his feet, he had held onto his cane and held it in the air. On that signal, Yuki-Hime had came up from where Yatsuda had summoned her earlier and blasted all three of their adversaries with a wave of cold energy. "I will happily take you on with your deal, Grand Summoner. It will be the test to see if I am worthy of being under you." And with that statement, Yatsuda had brought down the cane to attack the Grand Summoner This time, with the handle edge of the cane. "Adapt and overcome." Asuka said recalling Corielisa and prducing a silver tube of her own, the one her master had given her the day before, the one containing the demon, Haineko.
The demon arched it's back, stretching as it was summoned, before standing ready, and bringing both it's arms forward, a blast of almighty energy would crash down on the Great summoner and her Demon. Quote: Haineko: Megidola [Kyoji, Leanan Sidhe]

Kyouji Kuzunoha X, Great Summoner of the Yatagarasu
"What's honorable is all a matter of perspective...I just do what's necessary."They were really starting to get into the swing of the fight now, which meant that she had to match them every step of the way if she wanted to stay ahead; her instincts allowed her to move with a preternatural skill and her training gave her the endurance and power to deal just as much damage and then some compared with what they were putting out against her. That wasn't just her own power, though, but the strength of her allies...without them, this battle would have been nearly unmanageable...or at least, she'd have been forced to be a lot more ruthless if she wanted to end this thing in a timely fashion. Thankfully, everything was going smoothly so far with the aid of her demons. She had to push them all, to test them and force them to the very limits of their skill if they wanted to defeat her. The little added caveat that Yatsuda would need to strike her if he wanted to gain his rewards for yesterday's efforts was simply a motivator that seemed to be doing the trick, she thought, as he joined forces with Red to come at her with a renewed vigor. Asuka was doing her best to prove that she could stand on equal footing to Shu as an apprentice, showing her former master and her current one just why she had been considered one with the potential to grow into the role of Great Summoner. And Shu...she didn't need to watch him to know the power that burst onto the field from his direction was the devil that had been calling out to him. Lyna, the Light Charmer...Leanan Sidhe was more of a support demon to begin with...and she never had a chance.
The Shining Bomb descended as though dropped out of the sky, but the splash seemed to catch little of the Master as she moved in a whirling dervish of cape and shadow away from the blast, letting Futsunushi drop in between them and take the blow sternly into a pair of crossed blades hovering in the air before them. Its nonplussed expression seemed to scoff at the power of the devil Charmer, immense as it was, and reminded those who gathered just how imposing the allies of a Great Summoner could truly be.
But there were far more threats on the field to deal with than the summons of her oldest apprentice; losing sight of the movements of even one of them could prove to be the straw that lost her the fight. One move, one hesitation, one mistake in the midst of a real fight was all that it took in order to cross the line from victory into death...she had made it her life's mission not to make that one mistake. Her encounter with the former Ichirou and her imprisonment and subsequent escape had given her a very real, very desperate look at the costs that one mistake could force a summoner to pay, and she had promised herself that she would do all in her power not to make such a mistake again. She would do all that she could to make sure her apprentices learned that lesson early, and learned it well...even if she had to beat the lesson into their heads now and then. Subtler methods were her preferred course of action, of course, but exams like this one were unavoidable if you wanted to be called Kuzunoha. And if the battle helped her to keep the edge of her blade sharper as well, then that was an added bonus.
...Fire washed over the field as Lamia listened to her master's command; Leanan Sidhe dispersed into the light of Lyna's Bomb and returned to the silver tube from which she had come, allowing another tube to slide into her master's fingers as she found herself bereft of an ally and slipping through a sea of flame and high-powered ice from the spell of Yatsuda's Yuki-Hime. Again the crashing of flame, smoke, and awash in the tide of ice the sight of the summoner was lost for a split second; the lack of vision, meant as a screen for their own attacks, instead allowed the Great Summoner to answer her two hat-clad students with attacks of her own! One foot met Red's chest squarely and sent him tumbling backwards away from the center of the clearing, and no sooner had she landed than she twisted and let the cane pass harmlessly by her side, a foot whirling around behind her to hook around Yatso's back and launch him stumbling forward again with his own momentum towards the exact same spot where his co-attacker had been felled a moment sooner...the two of them crashing into one another in a manner that would have been rather comical if it weren't in the midst of battle. ...Or, perhaps it was comical now, as the tiny smirk that crossed the summoner's lips beneath the hood seemed to take some measure of pleasure in the sight of them falling and recovering...imploring them playfully to try a little harder...and remember who they were fighting, of course.
"Nice idea," Kyouji shot at the two playfully as she landed, "But way too obvious...subterfuge is my forte."
They also likely needed to remember that neither of them were alone; a fact which Asuka refused to let the Great Summoner forget as she called upon a devil which Kyouji herself had entrusted to her: Haineko. Cat-like, playful, and powerful, Haineko was no joke, and when the blue power of an Almighty assault began to form over her, she knew that there was little hope in avoiding the entirety of the attack...a field-engulfing power that would, in the midst of all of her fighting...provide a significant challenge to weather. Her smirk grew a bit coy as she thought to herself how impressively relentless her little kitten was growing in her attacking patterns, but she also knew that to have her growing this serious meant that she needed to do the same, in-kind. Power crashed over she and her demonic swordsman, but as it landed she slid in behind her devil to relieve some of the impact and allow her to continue her movement unfettered. Twirling around one another with the grace of two ballerina swordsmen, Kyouji and Futsunushi paired off and went in opposite directions no sooner than the moment the power had faded...the devil swordsman launching itself in the direction of Shu, and the Great Summoner in the direction of the others...
"When you grow as a summoner, you'll find out there's more to fighting as one of us than calling upon demons and swinging your swords," she explained as she ran a hand along her blade smoothly, feet padding more and more quickly as she closed in on the center of the Red/Asuka/Yatsuda trio, "You learn to adapt...new techniques on the battlefield...to combine the abilities of yourself, your weapon, and your devils...like THIS!" In a flash of hood and cape she was in the air, but no sooner had she ascended than the summoner's twin blades shimmered from her wrist mounts...and her body descended in a flash, crashing into the ground with a swipe of each arm and a powerful crash against the ground that nearly rocked the clearing with its force.
"CROSS SLASH!"
A cross-shaped pattern followed the path of her blades as she descended, a slice in the earth thin as a blade tore into the ground beneath her...and ripped into her apprentices with the deadly power of the Great Summoner that she was. It was a special technique, a combination of magnetite and weaponry and the skill of a Kuzunoha...and with the impact each of her apprentices would be knocked to their back by the force, a thin line running up their clothes as a reminder of what she could do to them if they didn't step up their game. It wasn't much of a final exam if they didn't find it to be a challenge, right?

And behind her Futsunushi merely glowered at its foe and this time two swords emerged...one seemed to feint at Lyna before the other found its hand and slashed downward, a Primal Force crushing the Light Charmer and knocking her mercilessly to the ground, taking her out of the battle between them before she could make another move. Still, that was two of the Great Summoner's devils down...and in a flash another was taking the field, the horned temptress Ishtar! In response, a power cried out from within the tubes of Jo(Shu)'s holsters anxiously...almost as if dying to get a piece of that enemy in particular. From where she landed, standing to her full height, Kyouji could hear it...could feel the power...but the question was, could her master?

"Focus on your power," she whispered as she clenched her fist tightly, instinctively following her apprentices' recovery from the corners of her eyes...feeling the power flowing through her, "The magnetite running through you...gathering in your weapons...consumed by the demons you command...to fully control that flow...and to know the strengths and weaknesses of your allies...is to truly control your power as a devil summoner."

 Jo(shu) Michieru And Hiita the Fire Charmer Jo(shu) gave another small smile as Lyna saved his life, before starting to feel the Immense power of Kyouji's slash...and then watching as Futsunushi knocked out Lyna in a flash, the energy dispersing.
Tch..that one's going to be one of the most annoying.. he thought, before feeling another of his tubes pulse...Just as he was zapped with a powerful bolt of electrical energy.
"Hrk...Shocking.." he snarked, before he reaching for the power, and bringing forth the one that called."Give me your power..You..You won't regret it." Hiita's voice called, as she averted her gaze. She'd been feeling strange ever since she'd joined with him..But now more than ever, was the time for her to show him that it wasn't a mistake recruiting her.Jo(shu) gave a small chuckle, before gripping Hiita's hand.
"You're on." he called, focusing his energy through to her, as he could feel her power swelling outward.
In a flash, Hiita's power started to expand outward, exploding out of her as she shifted forms, much like the two before her. It was..extraordinary...Empowering.......Amazing...
And as she raised her staff to conjure flames, the demon from before's eyes being met with her own fiery gaze."Sea...Of...Red! she called out, before her flames exploded outward, aiming to burn a substantial portion in it's path...And Just as the first wave would wash over all of her foes...A Second wave would come, aiming to slam into them once more. Red felt himself getting slid around, knocked against a familiar figure as his own goal to help him seemed to had the opposite effect, once more. The foot in his chest had hurt...But what hurt more was his pride from getting tossed around so easily...as he braced himself to catch Yatsuda.
"Up and at em." he called, as the electric spell slammed into him and Lamia, damaging them both severely as he raised up. It had been foolish to attack at a master like Kyouji so carelessly...Though as she slashed at them with a powerful, Demonically empowered energy, he couldn't help but wonder....Something that she answered with her very question.
"Lamia." he called, before he started to pool Magnetite into his gloves, aiming to form into a new power. They had to adapt..they had to come up with a new technique if they were going to attack at Kyouji with a renewed vigor.
Focus...

MirMir quietly continued to watch as the apprentices performed at their very best, demonstrating all that they were capable of as they tried to stand at the level of someone far more experienced than they were. Jo(shu) in particular was doing quite well, and she could see why Kyouji had kept her eyes on the young man. He was quite a talent, and would be a fine addition to the ranks of the Yatagarasu... and perhaps, someday, even a friend. Still, poaching wasn't something necessary, and he'd learned very well under Kyouji's guidance... best to keep it that way. She was looking forward to giving a lesson of her own, though, helping each of them draw out their full potential and find a way to do things that truly suited their individual style. Every Summoner had their own unique style, and learning to be as flexible as possible with their strengths was the only way to truly move forward. You had to change if you wanted to improve, and the knowledge that she was gathering, well... that was helping a lot. She'd probably have to drop in on another gathering later today, too, and see how that was going. Ah, work. Still, it was better to do something than to do nothing.

With Yatsuda having been tripped up again, he braced himself so the impact into Red would not be so severe. Once he gotten back up, however, both him and his demon were viciously shock by the electric spell. He knew that it would be rough for them to continue forever in this fight at his own level right now. But after the Grand Summoner's attack, Yatsuda had realized fully of what she was saying. Then, he turned towards Yuki-Hime, was just recovering from the assaults as well. "Mind for a duet, Yuki?" Yatsuda had said to his demon as he had then put his focus towards his cane, allowing the magnetite to flowing into his weapon to open further into power. He knew that adaptation would be the only way to beat the Grand Summoner.
