we have chai tea over here, i wonder if it's the same as yours. mine is regular black tea but it's spiced, is that the same??
when i was hanging out in the mansion tearoom over easter people were talking about bubble tea, has anyone had this, i think it sounds very interesting, with lovely flavours like coconut and honeydew melon, yum!

domokun I'm the heat, mix, and serve queen so I don't cook much but that lasagna sounds soooo incredibly good! And bubble tea flavoured like honeydew melon? My mouth is watering! I had a jalepeno soft pretzel today filled with cheddar cheese from Sheetz. That was yumalicious! wink

I totally heart anything jalepeno! They even have jalepeno kettle-fried chips now! I'd ship you one of these pretzels, you'd love it, but it's one of those things that is better eaten warm the first time its heated, not the second. heart

yeah it's the same...but whatever extra they do to it when they make it the powder stuff kevin used at his restaurant was extra yummy! I discovered it has to be brown sugar (if you wanna add sugar at all) cuz regular sugar doesn't add the same flavor.

bubble tea sounds yummy too btw...gonna have to try and search for some. I love tea!

Fawn might know about bubble tea, from what people were saying it's an asian specialty. the bubbles in it are bits of tapioca and you drink it through an extra wide straw

Tapioca's a little different from rice pudding, but kinda similar too! Yeah, some people in middle school lost their taste for tapioca after dissecting frogs and seeing the frog eyes! But I got back into it! It's good!

I've actually never heard of bubble tea! Thanks for letting me know though!

The Chai my mom gets at Sams Club is powdered, but it winds up milky when you add water. *runs to get container* It's called "Mystic Chai - Hot or Cold Spiced Tea" and the container is a big 2lb tin that's blue on the top half and orange on the bottom half. Ingredients seem to include coconut oil, black tea, darjeeling, honey granules, cinnamon, clove, cardamon, anise, ginger, and vanilla extract among the more flavorful ingredients. Oh, it has milk power and non-dairy creamer in it too, hence why it's not transluscent like some teas.

I have yet to try chai. What would be a good flavor to start with? Or does it even come in different flavors? Is there maybe a vanilla variation? smile

i was wondering about the american Chai, it perplexed me a little with the talk of it being powdered. then i realised that it's probably because you are a nation of coffee drinkers. i drink Chai black and i like it far better that way than with milk, i always have some stashed in the cupboard for when i've run out of milk, like right now!

Found an uber easy recipe for roast I'm gonna try tonight!

NEVER FAIL ROAST BEEF

2 to 4 rib roast of beef 4 1/2 to 12 lbs.
Flour
Salt
Pepper
Remove roast from refrigerator 2 1/2 to 4 hours before cooking. Preheat oven to 500 degrees. Place roast in shallow open pan, fat side up. Sprinkle and rub in a little flour, salt and pepper. Put roast in oven and roast 6 minutes per pound, timing exactly to the minute. When cooking time is finished, turn off the oven. DO NOT OPEN OVEN DOOR AT ANY TIME!! Allow roast to remain in oven for two hours and again, DO NOT OPEN DOOR. Beef will be medium rare.

Let's hope it turns out okay! I'm gonna add chili spices to it as well and serve it with mashed potatoes.

So I finally made this about a week ago. I had a great post about how it turned out and lost it in a gaia glitch, so i abandoned posting about it until now. I was lazy blaugh

It turned out really well. They aren't kidding about timing it to the minute. I forgot to take it out of the fridge a couple hours before cooking (to bring to room temp) and blasted it with heat an extra 6 minutes to try and compensate...that was not a good idea. It ended up overcooked...well instead of medium rare. It was still okay, but a little chewy. Kevin blamed it on the cut of meat, buti know it was my fault, bless him. I seasoned the flour with chili spices and salt and pepper before i rubbed it on. That part turned out really good! Gave it a nice flavorful crust. I'm gonna try this recipe again next week and will follow it to the letter.

do let us know how the next one turns out then, i wonder if marinading it first would help, it could well have been the joint and not your cooking that made it a bit chewy! i'm going to make some experimental flapjacks today, i shall replace half the oats with fruity muesli and see if they're edible! some of my gastronomic creations i'd never want to inflict on anyone elses stomach xd
