Jordan's smile quirked. "I'd say ask Rep about cocoa, but he'd overcharge you for it. You know how he is about sharing food." He sipped his coffee and huffed a soft sigh of satisfaction before turning to fish a spoon out of a drawer and hand it to Al. "That'll probably work better if you stir the chocolate in," he advised.

"No way man, I don't like asking Rep for anything. I feel like I shouldn't be wasting his time unless it's really important," he watched Jordan keenly as he moved to see what he was getting now. He took the spoon and swirled his coffee vigorously before slurping it. It wasn't hot cocoa, but it was pretty damn good. He licked his lips with a smile.
"I hope I didn't interrupt anything?"

Well trained, Ferros commented.
He really wants approval from authority figures. ... Then again, most of us do, one way or another. "You didn't interrupt," Jordan answered Al. "I was just reading. Well, half reading and half falling asleep. That reminds me, though." He fixed Al with a thoughtful stare. "I hear you and your new friend did some interrupting."

Al suddenly looked baffled and then a cold slow dawning realization blew through causing the hairs on the back of his neck to stand on end. "Um," he tried to keep that clueless look on his face, "interrupting?"

Jordan said nothing, just watching Al with that steady, expectant stare.

Al stared back keeping his face as unreadable as possible; brows arched with thought, eyes wide with bewilderment. He shrugged and tried the change-the-subject technique. "Well anyway, this coffee is amazing."

"I'm glad you think so." Jordan arched one eyebrow. "The locker room?" Not letting you off that easy, Al.

"The locker room? Sure is gross in there, amIrite?" Eyebrow waggles of innocence.

"You do?" He wilted a bit prematurely in preparation for the scolding he's about to receive.

"Aside from being disrespectful, that stunt was dumb." Jordan frowned at Al. "I know you're smarter than that. You have to live with everyone here, and if the girls don't think they can trust you, you're going to have a harder time getting anything done, on and off duty. And you're also going to have a harder time getting any dates if you act creepy around women." He sighed. "If you totally can't feel respect, at least try to fake it, and don't get caught doing dumb things."

There it was. Al cringed and lowered his gaze to the floor almost instantaneously as he allowed Jordan's words bite unrestrained. He kept his mouth shut until it appeared the man ran out of ammunition. Barely squeaking out a, "But..." while looking at him with large pleading eyes.

"We um... I um... didn't even see anything and like. I'm death and stuff. Aren't we supposed to be like, spies or something? How am I supposed to become a good death with no way to practice that that won't kill me?" He offered a large lip wibble to smooth over his feeble attempts to excuse himself.

Jordan tilted his head slightly to the side. "So you chose a poorly concealed hiding spot, didn't have a solid escape plan, and didn't even collect the information you were after?" he inquired dryly. "I'd advise more practice and planning on other ventures. Golem training, maybe. Those you can bail out of a lot easier."
He sighed. "Learn from your mistakes, at least. I'm not going to beat you for it unless I hear you pulled the same dumb stunt again. Understand?"
