"No, it's not. It's always going to require payment and it's usually going to be more than you can afford, even if you think it's no big deal at the moment," Zia said with a weird shrug. On some level, Chaos was always a weird discussion for her. She drew some excitement and enjoyment out of talking about it and educating others and trying to fit it into new, weird little analogies, it was still weird.
With Zirconia's past corruption and the current existence of the Dark Mirror Court, it felt like a weird mark on her soul that kept following her around.
Babylon continuing on about movies made her stand up straight and shove whatever she was holding in her back as she crossed her arms behind and back and awkwardly sucked her lips in her mouth she kept tightly closed.
Their relationship in prep school was a nebulous, non existent one. If he recognized her or knew her from class it all, it likely would've been at a distance, because back then Zia would've considered herself far too above a guy like Finn to grace him with her prissy presence. And she was busy volunteering and building a resume anyway.
She was extremely close to Chris Gallo growing up for more than just close proximity reasons, they were both equally uptight once upon a time.
She knew of Finn through his artwork in that it made her seethe when it caused problems or disruptions on campus, which was why when she caught him on the roof that night, Zirconia had sifted through her consciousness to nickname him 'art kid'. All in all this was the picture of her relationship to Finn and Babylon in previous years before everything went very downhill.
Zirconia changed a lot. Zia wasn't uptight anymore, now that her priorities were mostly survive and don't lose too much touch with reality. Things were tense with Chris. Finn was actually someone she'd call a friend now.
But that was only in the last three years which was not nearly enough time to normalize.
"Ah haaa, right, um, I wasn't that big on movies, um... back in the day," She said with an awkward laugh. "I mean I think my dad had me worried about college applications as early as age twelve so um. My friend Tara made me watch Star Wars last month! That was fun!"
Subject change. Subject change. Don't look like an idiot, Zee.
"I have a couch! Actually, my apartment is pretty nice, we could have movie night there if you want!" 'Pretty nice' as in 'the lux highrise penthouse my mommy pays for', but hey. She took what she could get.

"Yeah, well, no time like the present to make up for your missed years of teenaged shenanigans," replied Babylon with a shrug. He personally still had immense difficulty self-identifying as an adult. Somehow, having lived independently for going on four years and having been to Alaska and back and attaining the knighthood of an ancient order (even if in name only, as Menachem liked to insist) didn't help convince him any. "We'll do that soon, yeah?" he suggested. "I'll text you or whatever and we'll set it up. Lord of the Rings. Back to the Future. Indiana Jones. We can debate whether or not the fourth one's worth it." "And yeah, your place would be great. I'm still - it's one step up from couch surfing, basically. I used to live with Avalon before I left for Alaska, but the lease on our place ran out when she stopped being, y'know, herself." Which was a weird statement, but one he was sure Zia would be able to follow - jargon was just part of the magical powers package. He tried to figure out how long they'd been here - at least an hour, right? Between all the walking and the looking around? "Anyway, if you don't want to stay out too late, or get hypothermia or whatever, we should pick some relics and head home."

"Oh, yeah, I am super done with delaying shenanigans like there's--... yeah," Zia said with a decisive nod after she cut herself off. There was no need to go into the boring and depressive speech about what she considered a total lack of a future.
Not when the thing to focus on was how very intent she was on enjoying herself right now, and the reasoning that kicked her into action didn't really need to be brought up or elaborated on since talking about it kind of defeated the point.
She didn't need an invitation to swipe relics. A few things here and there had already been slipped into her pockets. Dressing for snow had it's benefits and those benefits were zillions of pockets and hiding places on her person. But at his mention she grabbed a few things she'd been looking at and stuffed them into her bag after taking careful note of where she found them. She'd have to study the actual relics more in depth when she was back at her base.
"You know, my place is pretty decent if you ever need to just get away or something," She offered with a shrug. "It's kind of big and empty and boring."
At least when the owner was out of town. Which was often and very lucky for Zia who apparently could not resist offering it up as a place for people to just hang out or crash as needed.

Babylon watched her stuff her pockets, considering how everything in the city was his to give away as he wished. "If those turn out to be anything interesting, let me know, okay?" he asked, which he thought was a fair trade for whatever archeological relics she was absconding with (with permission, of course). "Thanks for the offer," he added, offering his arm. "I think we'd better head back, if you're ready to go. And we'll make plans for sometime soon, right? Movies. Pizza. The works." It was nice to have a friend he could do these kinds of thing with again, he thought. She'd never replace Tate - no one could - but it was good to have someone who could fill a similar role. "So, thank you for coming with me tonight, but unless you have any objections...?" No sign of his ancestor, Babylon considered, as he awaited her answer. He should work on lighting those lamps.

"Sounds like a plan," Zia chirped, and hooked her arm around his.
She was eager to get back down to earth and out of her puffy snow clothes, and further investigate her latest hoard of relics.
