The instant he agreed Awahi bounced upon her clawed feet and smiled brightly, her eyes flicking from one wing to the other..trying to pick which to touch. "O-oh..there are four aren't there..I..do they feel different?" She'd eaten a bird once..it hadn't been her favorite meal..too many tiny bones and feathers. Awahi also had her own feathers but, not like his! His were marvelous! They helped him FLY..and that alone was enough to urge her forward. Again her nose came quite handy..though she tried to be very gentle. Were wings fragile? Like a butterfly? Surely they were stronger because they held him up in the sky and worked against the wind. "What's it like..to..fly? Is it amazing? It looks like..so much fun." Sighing softly she marveled when her nose brushed along a feathered wing..it was so soft! So warm and downy..Awahi could get lost in such appendages. Maybe it was best she hadn't been born with them. Trying to pry herself away was a little embarrassing..so the mare settled for a few more nuzzles before restraining herself. "S-sorry..I must seem...even more odd. Please forgive me. My family all have similar builds..none really have wings..though father says my aunt might be in love with someone who has large fluffy wings like yours." Seeing that she was rambling Awahi went back to walking, mind racing with ideas..with thoughts and dreams that would most likely never come true. "As for your earlier questions. I'm not sure what type of mint but, it's very tasty. The clay vessels will have to wait unless you want me to make a few while I'm here..as long as there is sunlight or something hot..also a river with soft clay." She rather liked having some company and smiled up at the stallion, knowing the next thing she'd beg to touch a bit later would be his horn.

"I haven't noticed a difference, but I'm so used to my own wings, who knows if I would... It's possible the see through ones feel different, I have no idea." He watched her still, wondering what went through her head as she touched his wings. He enjoyed them but he had no idea if anyone else liked how wings felt. When she explained, he smiled a bit. "Mmm, it's not worry, truly. My family are all winged. We have some differences between us... My brothers have none of the Kirin side, and my sister none of 'Suti, so we all look a bit different... But we all have the wings, and are what some call 'Draft' bodied. Whatever that means." He'd heard the term somewhere, and had never worked it out. "But wings can be a hassle. Yes, I love flying but... Well sometimes it's hard to sleep, and trust me." He made a bit of a face. "Dust baths? We can't do a roll in the dust, so we have to do it more like birds and it can be a right pain." He sighed and shook his head, but smiled. "Yet I wouldn't give them up for the world. It's a part of me, who I am, you know?"
He listened to her talking about the mint and bobbed his head, nodding. "Well when we get the chance, perhaps we can try the mint you have access to. I am sure it will make a wonderful base for a tea and perhaps you could be our supplier, if you can't bring us seeds." He paused, then nodded a bit. "I'd prefer to grow our own, of course. It means a guaranteed supply, and we can monitor soil conditions, so on... But if we can't, or it wont grow here..." He tapped his hoof decisively, but began moving towards home again. "As for the clay, I... have no idea if we have clay in our river bank, really. We have a river... but we're more concerned with it for the purposes of water for our herbs."

Laughing softly she looked up towards the sky, thinking and pondering on all he had to say. "Well who knows what's in my bag..I tend to grab things while traveling and then forget I have them, besides the mare I spoke of is just a short journey in the opposite direction...she grows her own herbs and probably has seeds she'd be willing to trade. Oh I bet she'd love to try tea! I'll have to find a way to take her some.." Tilting her head the mare tried to imagine what the stallion's family might look like. "My family are all..very pale in color..except for my father and grandfather. Though my father simply has bright feathers and a pale body. Grandfather is a tan color with black.." Beaming at all the information she held..her eyes flickered about in search of anything useful. A rabbit ran through the underbrush..Awahi fought every instinct she had to NOT chase it. Though her ears pinned back and, a sharp fang unintentionally peeked out. Shaking it off her focus once more turned to Chroma. "Dust baths huh? I would have never known..You are a funny one..but, I like it. Never fear I am a third generation clay vessel maker!" She was confident that they could find some sort of clay or perhaps a human settlement if they really needed to.

"Well we can either send a tea blend with you, but you and she would have to find a way to heat water to steap it in, or we could send a jar of brewed tea, but she'd either have to drink it cold or reheat it." He blinked slowly as he walked. "That is the hardest part, I would say, for those who do not live near the hot springs. Finding a way to steep the teas." He looked up at the sky, keeping a watchful eye on the weather, then back at her. "Or you could bring her for a visit as well. And I am interested to see what you might have brought with you." He listened to her talking about her family's appearance. "Interesting. We're an odd mix of colors... Or well." He paused then sighed. "Well never mind. Anyways, third generation clay vessel maker? I am impressed. your family has been perfecting the art, I take it!"

Awahi didn't know about bringing Vedis out for a visit the mare could be a bit odd when it came to leaving the stretch of forest she 'guarded'. His comment made the mare laugh brightly, tail swaying as they came closer and closer to the herds territory. She could always smell the subtle hints that a herd lived nearby..it was like her own families herd. They all continuously went through the same area which left the same scents layered over top one another..along with pathways. Some criss-crossed while others went off all on their own..it was fun to look over each and wonder what kind of soquili had forged the path. "We'll have to see. I do know there's possibly one medicinal herb in my bag that would be well used in hot water! I think it would make it's properties even more potent.." Trailing off Awahi soon found her curiosity bubbling over once again..because she could see steaming water in the distance. "Oh! Oh my goodness! Chroma..this is..awe inspiring."

Chroma smiled softly at her words, gazing across up into the mountain area where the steam was visible. "Yes... When we found this place, our home... My friend and I knew this place was perfect for our plans." He tossed his head a little, remembering that period, then he nodded. "If we continue up, you will see the waters themselves... There is some, that flow into a different area, that are used for resting and bathing. The rest are for the brewing." He was proud of this home, and what they had created here. Every time someone came to visit, it was interesting to watch how they reacted. "So, the herb in question. What properties does it hold?" He was curious about that, for they had some herbal remedy brews, but something new would always be good to add to their repertoire.

Awahi pressed onward, keeping her eyes on the floating steam. For such a curious soquili this was..a moment where she knew she'd have questions for days! It excited the mare more than words could ever describe. "Oh the herb is supposed to be good for stomach troubles..I heard tale from some that live with two legs..that the two legs use it heated in water. That is why it should be amazing to try here!" Keeping her bag toted along the mare only stopped when they had made it to the true area of hot springs. It was at that time that Awahi stopped to drop her heavy burden, nose burying down within the sack. Knocking several things out her eyes gleamed with delight. "These berries and roots are the herb I spoke of. Be wary..it's also said they can be potent if misused. It's better to ere on the side of caution. Oh yes!" Grinning more widely Awahi dive back into the sack to more carefully deposit a few clay bowls before the stallions feet. "Here. For allowing me to see such a wondrous thing..and for putting up with my rambling. My father and grandfather made them."

He blinked, startled, by the bowls. He hadn't expected a sudden gift, though he definitely was grateful. "Those are very well made, and will be both appreciated and well used. I think perhaps, if nothing else, I should discuss with my friend, the official leader of our herd, to suggest we set up a permanent trade arrangement." He gently, very, nudged the bowls with his nose. "Clay pots, bowls... Jars... I can see it being a very profitable trade arrangement for both sides."
He then studied the berries and roots, before leaning down to sniff, carefully, at them. He wasn't a trained healer, nor was he aware of all the herbs, etc, in the world, but he was knowledgeable enough to study the materials before he used them. "How much would you say is best to be used, as is, unheated?" He asked, thoughtfully. He'd often found that a little goes a long way with brewing, so he mentally planned to half the amount, at minimum.

Letting out a please little chirp of delight the mare felt her heart sing when she saw how much he'd liked the gifts. It was the least she could do really..Awahi hadn't ever met a male like this. Truly, she knew little "I'd say to not give more than a small nibble or one berry to cure an adult..a foal would need even less!" Moving to the bag again she carefully placed a bit of the herbal remedy into an empty clay bowl. Tail swaying and claws flexing her nose again fell to the roughly made sack...murmuring as she did so. "I am just pleased to have some kind of trading set up! My family will be more than happy to make some more pots..I believe father has also been looking into finding some crafty raccoon's to help with more delicate work. That is if your friend says a permanent arrangement is acceptable. " Nosing out a few more herbs Awahi took great care in separating things into the separate little vessel's so they wouldn't 'cross contaminate' or be confused for each other. " Here we have a second medicinal herb..when mixed with water it does wonders on injuries! you have to mash it up though..mix with a small bit of water or if you are desperate, saliva..then spread it on a wound. This other here is less tricky, it helps anyone get a restful nights sleep. Perfect for finicky foals or the elderly who may find it hard to get comfortable at night..?" Trailing off the mare became flustered once more, her mouth just ran away with itself sometimes and it could get embarrassing but, she just liked having someone else to talk with. Someone new & exciting. " I'm sorry again for talking so much..still I am so excited to be here and to have met you. What a wonderful day!"

He tilted his head, filing away the information she was providing him. "Hmmm a tiny bit brewed, yes I think that would do... Or perhaps a large pot brewed, then dole out a tiny sip at a time. Either way, this should be wonderful." He beamed happily at his new companion, possibly friend... He was coming to be fond of her enthusiasm. It reminded him, in a good way, of his brothers when they were young... The energy and happiness they'd poured out. It made him very inclined to like this lady.
"Trading arrangements are good for everyone. I'll have to take you to meet Jase, then. I'm sure he'll be pleased to have contacts with a Potmaker. And I know some one who is also looking for raccoons... He wants to run a hair care group... Which several of our herd could very much use." When she pulled out the second herb, he leaned down to sniff them curiously, listening. "Very useful, both of these... I wonder if they'd grow well here. Any chance at all of getting the seeds?" He blinked at her last statement, and smiled warmly. "No, it's all right! I like the energy and happiness you're showing. It's always glad to meet a new friend."
