The correct answer would be 'no'.
"Juliaaaan..." Rabid sighed and approached him, annihilating her Southern her accent easily, "It's me. Rabid."

"Look, I - huh?"
Cut off mid-snarky response, Julian looked up. His annoyance at the interruption of his bad mood shifted quickly to surprise.
"Wha?"
Which, clearly, had robbed him of the ability to make intelligent conversation. Getting up but making no move to go forward, his looked at his companion with slight confusion. After a moment, though, he grinned and laughed.
"Hey! Cripes, I thought you were mad at me. Where've you been?"

"Home, mostly. With the invalid," Rabid nodded and laughed, "I didn't think it would be too smart to do mcuh looking like this either." She raised her arms nad looked down at herself for a moment.
"You know...you could have come to find me," she said and stuck her tongue out, knowing full well that Julian often took things too much to heart.

Julian blushed slightly and shrugged.
"Well, I...uh. Erm." He had thought about going to the room, but... "I thought you were mad or something," he added, feeling a bit stupid. He couldn't help but glance up at her hair again out of curiosity.
"That doesn't matter. You didn't freak out when I looked different. Well, on every occassion that I look different," he said, scratching at the whorl on his face wryly. He was practically a chameleon. "When did this happen?"

Rabid tugged self-consciously on a strand of hair she remembered as being a curl once.
"Nope," she grinned stupidly, "This? You mean the...Humany weirdness?" She tried to think back.
"Dunno. A while ago. A few days before I visited Crow."
...as if that was any indicator.

"Well....wow. Unexpected." Julian said, inwardly cursing Crow. She could've at least mentioned Rabid had visited! Augh!
Moving a little closer, he grinned again and shook his head.
"Well, doesn't matter. I like your hair," he said, before adding quickly, "I mean, not that it wasn't nice before. It's just less, y'know. Anyway."
Deviating off the topic in a late attempt to save face, he cursed himself for blushing.
"How's Liam doing?"

Rabid rolled her eyes and snerked.
"Thanks, I think. Liam? He's...he's surviving."
She sighed, but smiled.
"He's actually doing pretty well, all things considered." Remembering what 'all things' included, she snickered and shook her head. Of course he was fine!

The grin shifted into a knowing smirk. Making a mental note to get at least one bit of teasing in on Liam that wouldn't result in bodily injury, Julian carefully slipped his hand in Rabid's.
"Glad he's doing alright," he said. Pointing to the door, where sunlight was streaming in, he looked away a little shyly. "Want to go outside?"

Rabid smiled and gripped Julian's hand. For some odd reason, she'd half-expected him to shy away in disgust or something.
"Sure...why not?" she began walking slowly toward the door. If she had no self control, she would probably be prancing about like an idiot and singing descant.

Glad it was finally warming up again outside, Julian followed Rabid as she walked. Squeezing her hand slightly, he was extremely relieved that Rabid had only avoided him because of her... well, her species-change, not because she had been angry. It'd been awful, thinking he'd done something to offend her.
"I missed you," he said over his shoulder, not able to look at her as he said it. "Y'know. I just...eh. Sorry I didn't visit."
Guiding her subtly down towards the lake, he waited until enough of the blush had gone from his face before looking over at her again.
"So..."

"It's alright," Rabid just followed where she was guided, blissfully oblivious to Julian's often-present blush, "So...uh...how've things been?"
She peered out onto the lake, staring at nothing in particular.

A memory of waking up screaming flitted through Julian's mind.
"Good." He said, smiling. "Got a job, finally. Crow said I have to pay rent now, if I keep up sleeping on her couch. No excuse not to now that I make more than her." He laughed a little.
"I don't think she was kidding, either."
He glanced out at the lake, then over his shoulder towards the looming walls of the maze. His smile twisted into something dark for a second before disappearing again.
"Pretty uneventful, other than that. How... how about you? Besides the whole change-thing?"

Memories of her physical changes, unknown ailment, and horrific nightmares crossed Rabid's mind as she stared.
"That's good," she grinned and looked up to Julian, "I've been...ah..."
What was the use in lying?
"Terrified."
She dropped to the ground and crossed her legs, sighing.

Instantly concerned, Julian knelt down beside Rabid. He squeezed her hand again, looking worried.
"Rabid, it'll wear off..." he said, fully aware he had no idea what could have caused her condition to begin with. "It'll be okay..."
