Adonis frowned. "I don't know much about genetics. Science wasn't my strong suit. But, if someone out there," the blonde pointed toward the ceiling, "had the same genes as one of us... They'd be human too. Right? I mean, a Spaniard and a Dutchman aren't different species from one another. They just live in different places." And by living in different places, they amounted to aliens in each other's countries. "... Oh," Adonis stated in slow recognition, allowing his hands to drop. Suddenly this war held a lot more similarities between world wars - with all the powers present amounting to different planets, and earth becoming the ultimate goal. But how could he fight for a place he was born in, but wasn't actually a part of?

Screw it, he figured. Why worry about the politics when all I have to do is drain energy and play soldier now and again? I'm from Pennsylvania, so whatever rock I'm supposed to be from can go to hell.

"Sounds like getting out of the White Moon Court was the best thing to happen to you." Adonis offered a smile over his cup before taking a sip. Powdered fake coca and hot water wasn't his ideal version of hot chocolate, but the heat of it alone felt pleasing enough. He envied Avior's outfit, though - in times like these, all those furs must come in handy. But in the summer... Damn, he must cook. "Seems a bit weird that we're all from these dead civilizations though, huh? Who would've thought we'd all assemble on earth and actually work together, if situations like what happened to your planet were going down all the time..." Were he one to wonder about his own planet, he would've considered its potential fates.

"I've never heard anyone in the Negaverse tell me to go attack a Dark Mirror. Until recently, we were allies, right? Now you're just... Not really a target, but not really a friend." But why would you want to rebuild a planet you never plan on visiting again? "The idea of it sounds pretty cool - visiting space and making your own civilization. There's got to be a lot of you to do it, though. I can't even imagine how long it'd take to overhaul an entire planet... Rome wasn't built in a day." After draining his cup, he flashed the boy a kind smile and rounded the counter. Pausing just behind the boy, Adonis rested a hand on his shoulder. "Takes a lot of guts to do something like that Avior. Good luck to you, when you start on that idea. But I think traveling the stars sounds a bit too lofty for me; I'm gonna stick around here a bit.

"I didn't know much about the Dark Mirror Court 'til now, but it's good to know that our aims don't interfere with one another. You're an interesting bunch, from the sound of it. Mind showing me out, though? Even if it means taking a dip in the mirror again, it beats setting off the alarm system a fancy place like this must have."

"I certainly agree with that. Though there were some nice folks there.. I can only hope that I meet them again and convince them that throwing their lives away is not the best paths to take." Athene was the first to come to mind for Senshi he had met and worried for now.. And of course there were all of the chibis too.. All of those little ones who he had met, crying and scared.. Traumatized by their encounters because some godforsaken cat decided that the babies were old enough to go and fight in a war. If Avior ever found it in his heart to hate something, it was most certainly them. Those damned cats! The thoughts going through his mind became evident on his face as he began to frown, eyes downcast towards the near empty cup. Most of what the other said just went over his head.. Up until he mentioned leaving.

"Yeah.. Uh.. Thanks.. OH, Oh. Oh, right, right, yeah, sure. Whenever you're ready, I can lead you out." He wasn't sure what else he had to say anyway, so maybe it was best to just to part.. Thinking too much about his past made him dizzy anyway. After all, that person wasn't him anymore.

Didn't I just ask? The blonde thought in irritation. Was Avior ignoring him now? What could he have to think about that trumped Adonis? Outwardly he managed a working kindness, though he wondered if he didn't grimace at first due to the boy's sudden departure from his response. After running a hand though his hair, the corrupted senshi essentially repeated himself. "As much as I enjoy your company, doll, I've got a lot to do today. I'd love to stay and chat, but..." With a slight wince, he gestured outward. "You know what happens, with the war and all. Not a good time to neglect my job." Not when there were bodies marking nearly every alleyway, it seemed.

The blonde swept the pair of cups from the counter, gathering them by the handles as he faced the sink. Luckily the water ran well enough; no one cut its supply, despite the harsh winters here. Rinsing the cups proved a simple task with the assistance of the soft soap dispenser; when he finished, only a close inspection would render the cups used. After replacing them in the cupboards, Adonis turned toward Avior once more, hands planted on either side of himself as he leaned against the counter. "Can't say I'm excited to go freeze my a** off, but I don't have a choice, you know?"

Inwardly he hoped the boy understood his message; the only way he could think to indicate his intentions more clearly would be a command. But the Dark Mirror Court wasn't the Negaverse; Adonis wasn't sure how he'd react to such treatment, and wanted to avoid it if possible.

It wasn't as if Avior had tried to ignore him. There were just times, especially as of recently that his mind simply moved too fast for his own good. When he did begin to listen again, he just nodded, pushing away from the counter, standing and waiting for the under-dressed senshi to come and follow him. If he had been in such a rush, why did he bother to go ahead and wash the cups? Avior would have come back in his own time to clean up, but hey, he was't about to complain. Less work for him, after all.

"I wouldn't be either, not with what you're wearing. Have you considered putting on a coat or something AFTER you transformed? I suppose that takes away the luxury of transforming on the spot. Unless you take off your coat first, THEN transformed, then put it back on. Certainly you aren't the first to have faced that problem, so I feel like there is something you can do to work that out." Once the blonde finally finished with the mugs, Avior gave a quick nod, heading back towards that mirror in the foyer, and holding out his hand again for Adonis to take.

"I do hope your hands are dry, lest they freeze over faster than the rest of you once you go back."

"You can do that?" He asked blankly. It never occurred to him to try pulling on a coat over his attire, given that everything he wore simply disappeared when he powered up. "No, I've never thought about taking my coat off and tossing it on a disgusting dumpster while I transformed. Little weird, not too hygienic and I'm a bit sensitive to those things, you see." Considering his profession, Adonis could not afford carelessness or contamination, though shying away from discarding his coat temporarily felt a little excessive. "Thanks for the tip; I'll think about it next time I go out in this weather." The boy had a point; others he spotted wore even less than himself, so they likely faced the same tribulations around this time.

And Avior must cook during the summer with all those furs. Were they allowed to discard superfluous layers for those months, or was it mandatory to keep all that on? Though the thought of Dark Mirror senshi stripping provoked his interest...

Departing from the subject, Adonis took the boy's hand. It still felt warm, despite his earlier activities while the blonde's core body temperature heated up. Idly he wondered if Avior cooked while they conversed. "They should be fine, but if you're worried about it, you can always lend me your gloves." Adonis returned, offering a sly smile. Avior was a strange one, but he seemed kindhearted. He offered cocoa, a warm place, and conversation that they both kept civil despite political undertones. Strange how a good kid like himself got wrapped up in the war... No wonder he wanted to escape it for a different land.

"I'm ready when you are, Captain."

"Ahh, I'm sorry, I never really thought of it that way. I alway just power up in my room, and go to where I need to through my mirrors. No need to really worry about my civilian clothes getting all that dirty.. A perk, albeit a bit of a limited one. My mirrors need to be big enough for me to fit though. Either way, I hope the tip helps. I wouldn't want you to freeze." No one deserved such a death.. Though he supposed there were much worse ways to die. From what he had heard, when one died of hypothermia, at the very end you feel warm. Maybe it was a cozy death. Nothing he would attempt to find out any time soon, however.

Sure the man had jested about his gloves, but that did not stop him from removing them from his rather small hands. Avior did not actually offer them to the older man, instead, taking the pale fingers into his own once again, giving a cheeky but shy smile as he did so.

"The gloves are mine, but I can offer you this last bit of heat before we part." Avior's hands were warm, almost hot as he had kept them on the entire time they had been together. Constantly moving, and having a warm mug in his hands did not help their heat, though they did not appear sweaty at all. Maybe Avior was just that naturally warm. He didn't touch people often enough or have even enough contact with non-powered people to get much of an opinion. Oh well.

"Onwards then!" With a slight tug, Avior brought the man through the mirrors once once, returning them both safely to their point of origin. Snow was beginning to fall again, and the lights that had surrounded the area before became dim in its shadow. Having been warm for a pleasant while caused the cold surrounding them to feel so much more intense, causing Avior to feel just a bit more hesitant in letting the older man's hand go. It was just cruel to take such heat away from the sparsely clothed man.

"I suppose this is goodbye, for now... I do hope you go somewhere else warm soon. Even if the task you have now is important, what is the point in completing it if you were to pass from the cold?"

The trip through the mirror greeted him with a cool, watery sensation, as if he fell through a pool upon entering. The trip back through proved as disconcerting as the original departure, composed of various nonsensical elements of a world that may not have been their own. Were he able to linger he might've tried to study it, but Adonis considered that asking a more established Dark Mirror Senshi would yield better answers.

When Adonis released the boy's hand, its heat faded shockingly fast in the cold weather - and after his recent visit to warm the bones, stepping into the harsh winds and algid temperatures dispelled any progress in an instant. Adonis sighed dejectedly; the ability to just pass through the mirror and land himself in his apartment sounded far to appealing about now. And he'd heard tell of Negaverse senshi able to teleport, but he lacked the ability to do it. So much for skipping the long trek home...

Adonis half-turned toward the boy and flashed him an easy grin. "For now," he echoed. "But if you find me in the snow, do me a favor and chisel me out. I'm going home to change; luckily I don't have to worry about patrols for the night." If anything, patrolling amounted to a break from being on call - how was he to answer his cell phone if it simply disappeared every time he powered up? However, any measure of patrolling yielded a sense of unease - of knowing that any potential disaster loomed over the horizon, much like the White Moon senshi that intended to kill him for his existence alone.

"See you again sometime, Avior. If I ever want to bump into you, I just need to hang out by a mirror again right?" With a quick laugh, Adonis bade farewell by the wave of his hand as he started the long trek through the snow. By now, the continued drift covered any tracks he laid upon his arrival, and similarly the blonde lacked a sense of direction toward the city. So it seemed his trek only got longer... Maybe with enough stops at warm businesses, he'll have collected the directions back to his house.

Now where was that damned teleporting capability...

HIs own experience with the mirror felt so natural, as if he had been doing it for years and years, rather than for only a few days. With as complicated as everything around him had seemed as of recent, it was incredibly relieving to just walk through it, knowing that only AVIOR could do this, not Nischal or Isha or whoever the hell he would be at any given moment. It was tempting, the idea to try to stop and linger in this world around him, it probably was best to simply return the Nega-senshi to where he had stolen him away from.

Ah.. Yes the parting.. It always ended like this didn't it? When would he ever see another party more than once? Sure the smile was pleasant, and the actions all in jest, it didn't help but to cause the young boy to feel bitter once again. Honestly, he hadn't been expecting to find himself feeling so.. Betrayed from his mirror galavanting, by any Senshi that he would happen to come across. Not that it was their fault, no, but it never did seem to be a want or care to meet up again.

The whole situation felt familiar, to the point where Avior shook his head to himself, trying to rid himself of those creeping thoughts of abandonment and disbelief.. He couldn't blame Adonis, not at all. Not only were they very obviously different in personalities, there was no common ground in being powered either.. Perhaps this man would become just like so many other powered folk he had encountered. One time things, people who would just.. Never see him again.

That was okay. That was something he was used to. It would be alright, it would all be alright, he was insignificant and unmemorable, and he realized this. He was no one, with not a single right to try to prolong contact with anybody. And that was why the smile he offered Adonis in return was so easily created.

"Certainly, maybe I'll keep a special ear poised just for you, Adonis. Please keep warm, I don't want to hear on the news that a young man such as yourself was found in the snow." A moment passed.. And then another, and one more as Avior remained in the snow, watching the retreating back of the man who was once his companion and he was left alone once more. The sound of silence around him was terrifying, and as soon as he snapped out or his longing trance, Avior made his way back into the mirror. It was as good a time as any to test his solitary task of mirror walking and lingering. He couldn't bother anyone this way.
