It took her a while, but Ikkio had come to the realization that the woman couldn't see. She looked up at Dyakida quietly, her eyes narrowing slyly. If the woman couldn't see her, then she couldn't see the sprite.
Ikkio didn't care about what the woman was saying. It was complicated and stupid too! Why should she give the sprite back? She'd found it! That was how it worked. Her little face creased into an annoyed and ugly snarl. That was how it worked, and this grownup had no right to say it wasn't so.
Especially the silliness of the sprite being her own thing. No. The sprite couldn't belong to herself and to the woman both. No. The sprite was hers.
She smiled a nasty little smile. "Okay!" she said, picking up a piece of wood of about the same size as the sprite and putting it in Dyakida's hands, "There you go!" she said, standing up from her crouch.
She hugged the sprite to her chest as she started to waed away, smirking wickedly and trying not to giggle. Ha. Her sprite now. The lady couldn't see, after all, so she wouldn't even know. Haha.

Dyakida was startled when she was given the piece of wood. She hadn't expected the child to give in so... easily. She had thought that they would be arguing another hour at least. It didn't take long for the initial shock to wear off and for Dyakida to realize that the little brat had tried to dupe her with a piece of wood. "Stop right there, you little thief." she shouted, the vibrations of the girl's feet registering nicely through her antennae. She started after Ikkio, absolutely furious now.
Peyla perked up at the sound of thief. But she'd done nothing wrong? She wasn't a thief! Why was this girl taking her away from her alkidike? Peyla didn't understand what was going on. She chimed in distress. Someone tell her what the hell was going on!
Dyakida triangulated by the chime - HER PEYLA'S CHIME - and lunged forward, grabbing the small fleshy arm of the child. She hadn't realized just how small the child was until then - it was almost disturbingly small to her. But that didn't ease her anger. "Give her back this instant." she snapped.

Ikkio hadn't expected the no-seeing tall lady to be so fast. She'd expected to be most of the way home by the time the lady discovered her ruse.
Or sort of most of the way. She wasn't sure, spatially where she was. Either way, she hadn't expected to be caught.
"Let go!" she yelped, wriggling against the woman's strong grasp. She hadn't expected the lady to be so strong, either - her hands were delicate and looked fragile, like a bug's legs, but her grip was too tight to wiggle out of. "I'm not a thief!" she protested, struggling, but it was no use. She thought fast, knowing she had to try a different tact.
"You're hurting meeee!" she wailed, straining against Dyakida's grasp, tears beginning to flow out of her eyes as she tried to pull away. It was true enough, Dyakida's grip did hurt, and it hurt quite a bit "Lemme go!"

Peyla looked from earthling to alkidike, confused. Why was her Alkidike hurting the nice girl? Why was the nice girl taking her away from her alkidike. She wailed. Peyla was confused. Peyla was confused!
Dyakida held on. Yes you are a thief."] she growled, pulling the child back towards her, "Give her back, now, and I'll let you go." This was it. More proof that Children were snotty little ammoral pranksters who got into everything and didn't get out. Or let go. "I don't care if I'm hurting you, girl." she said, tightening her grip. Actually, she very much cared. She didn't really want to hurt the child, not seriously anyway. But she was also not going to give this child any slack - she seemed like the sort that would take it.
She didn't think that she had done anything to actually hurt her, besides grab her wrist but, not being able to see, she couldn't help but wonder. Had she hurt the girl?
"Again. Give back my Peyla, and I'll let you go." she said.

"Lemme go!" whined Ikkio, struggling again. It wasn't working. She couldn't get free. She tried to angle herself to bite her 'oppressor' and shake her off, but she couldn't get a good angle.
And now the pretty thing was crying, and it was annoying. Ikkio decided that she didn't want it quite so much anymore. Not now. She wanted it happy and with her so that it would never leave her. Right now it was not happy. And it was loud and the noises it was making were not as pretty as the ones it had made before.
She struggled against Dyakida again before, panting with exertion, she gave up. She gave Dyakida a poisonous glare. "Fine." she said bitterly, handing Peyla back, "Have the pretty back." she yanked out of the loosening grip, "But she's still mine, so you're the thief." she said, pouting angrily, "YOU are."

"Fine. I am." Dyakida wasn't going to argue with this little beast anymore. She took her sprite, the warm, slight body reassuringly Peyla's, and let go of the girl's arm. "Now get. Don't you have parent's to go to? Get!" she said, shooing her away. Dyakida didn't want to lash out at a mere child, even if that child was a thieving brat who made Dyakida uneasy, and she certainly didn't want to hurt her, which she did feel like doing. "Just go away."

"Fine! I'm going!" snapped Ikkio sullenly. Fine, she won this time. She pulled away from Dyakida as soon as the woman's grip loosened and glared. She didn't like this woman. But she put on a smile and waved byebye - to the pretty thing, not the lady. She was quiet especially so the lady couldn't see her.
And then, Ikkio turned and walked - not ran - walked away as quickly as she could.
