So here's an attempt at something other than a bump for a change. I am seriously about to go crazy. It's the second-to-last week of school this quadmester, meaning I've only got this week to fix all my X's and bad grades (in Estonian schools, an X marks an assignment that has not been finished/handed in, and we can fix our bad grades and Xs in something similar to detention). And I've got four dentists' (plural because there are three of 'em) appointments on Wednesday, Thursday AND Friday, meaning I'll have to skip school on Thursday and Friday (Wednesday's appointment is after school) - meaning I have only tomorrow to fix my bad grades. Can you see why I'm screaming on the inside?
So, here's a real topic. Tell me about the school systems in your country. I don't know much about other schools. It's pretty relaxed here in Estonia, so I'm assuming you've got different rules and the year is divided differently. (I hear of these mythical trinkets called "hall passes" and "infirmaries", anyone know what those are? Wanna explain it to silly ol' me?)

Here in America, a hall pass is an object that we carry in the hallways so whoever is in the hallway will know who is skipping class and who is not. An infirmary is like a school hospital with a few beds.
At my school, if we fail a class, we have to go to recovery school after school where we have to reteach ourselves the material we don't understand. If we still fail that class, we have an in-school recovery class the following year where we must reteach ourselves the material, but on the computer. And it's really glitchy and fails you even when you pass.
Almost all of my Trig class is in after school recovery because our teacher couldn't teach a person to breathe. We all failed and we're having to relearn the entire 9 weeks of class in 9 hour long classes. So we have to learn 9 weeks of stuff in the equivalent of 2 weeks time. Yay.

In the case of the Hall Passes, they only apply to people who don't fall into a certain clic of the school's hierarchy. Namely, the "Important" students never have to carry them. Ever.
Everyone else, even honors students. have to for ANY reason though. Practically every reason. eek

That was pretty much the same with my high school. I'm from America as well. Hall passes prevent students from getting in trouble if caught in the school. However we called the infirmaries the nurses office. Let's see if anyone failed a class at my high school we would have to take the course over again the next year. Years are divided into four quarters for grading. lets see what else.... Oh! right I'm in college now so that is a little different too. if you have any questions about that let me know.
