Lira Chronicle, the Necromancer

The figure under the blanket paused for a moment. Then... "Food is meant to be eaten." Lira's voice was much steadier than it probably should have been, considering her current emotional state. "Besides, it's mine anyway, and you're not my mother, Ishimaru. Keep that stick up your butt if you have to, but don't try and impose your stupid rules on everyone else." And with that, the girl walked right out of the room. Honestly, she didn't like Ishimaru very much. She barely knew him, but most of what she had seen had involved him yapping like an annoying little dog. Rules this, rules that... rules were made to be broken, dangit. Except in movies, but that was art. You couldn't exactly be a Necromancer if you accepted the normal rules for life and death... Geez, now, she was pissed off again. Maybe it was time to marathon some of her favorite movies...

"It's just some snacks Ishimaru, relax. They're meant for snacking...it's in the rules." Saitou quipped, although it was obviously in good humor that he brought up "da rules". =Lira and the new member of the team were like ice ad fire, so obviously it was hard to mitigate their exchanges from time to time, but Saitou didn't back down if he felt like there might be real trouble. Still, they were all a team and most of the time the exchanges between Lira and Ishimaru seemed fairly harmless, if not a little sad for Saitou. He knew why Lira had such a hard time opening up to the new teammate, and he felt a pang of guilt from that more than anything else. He was suppose to be a leader, but when the time came his life hadn't been enough to shield them from harm, and in an all the more twisted circumstance he had lived, even when those he cared about had died. Any time he saw 'The Necromancer' he was seeing a painful reminder of that, and sometimes he wondered if she didn't look at him, ashamed of his failure, either.

"I rented Attack of the Damned from Planet Skele Ton, if you're interested Lira. I slipped it under your door if you haven't seen it yet." Saitou waved over his shoulder to the girl as Lira made her way back to her room, before turning to Ishimaru as he put a hand on his companion's shoulder and offered a sympathetic smile. "Tsk tsk, Oowada-san. You'll never find the way to a girl's heart at this rate. Perhaps you and I aught to have a man to man talk, huh?" Saitou's hand went from on Ishimaru's shoulder to behind his back suddenly, as he synched a headlock on his teammate and let out a light chuckle as he razzed on Ishimaru and his conspicuously uniform attitude a bit longer. If there was one thing Oowada needed to learn, it was to take himself a little less seriously...and perhaps that advise could benefit them all, so Saitou had volunteered himself to be the first test subject. Of course there was no problem with dragging the new guy down along with him....

Lira Chronicle, the Necromancer

Lira's door clicked shut and her foot nudged a DVD case. Considering how dark her room was at the moment, it was no surprise that she hadn't seen the case earlier, and she bent down to pick it up. For a few moments, she stared down, looking at the hilariously awful cover art. Oh, this was one of the cheesiest things she'd ever seen! Which, of course, made it perfect for what she had in mind. There was something about horror movies... they just reached that point where they were flat-out bad, but so funny that you didn't care anymore, and this film was definitely going to reach that point. Unlike some horror movie fans, Lira didn't have an encyclopedia-like knowledge of every movie ever made, and that was very intentional. She enjoyed finding new movies in old bargain bins and the like, and it wouldn't be nearly as much fun if she didn't make guesses based on the cover art and such.

Well, at least Saito was an okay sort, having done his part to help get out of that... that time. Even now, a coldness seemed to grip her heart whenever she thought about that. She'd never been so powerful... or so afraid. Every death had given her strength, and she'd felt the added might. There had been times where even her increased powers had barely been enough to destroy the obstacles in their way, though... and she knew that the only reason she'd escaped was because the rest of them hadn't. She'd run, leaving all of them behind, but she'd used their sacrifices over and ov-

No. Stop that!

Lira slapped her cheeks. This wasn't the time to get consumed by negativity. She wasn't that pitiful, @#$&#xit;. With no hesitation at all, the girl pulled open a bag of snacks and started tossing them into her mouth. The soon-empty bag went into the garbage and the girl herself jumped onto the bed, spreading all of her other snacks out in front of her before putting the headphones on and hitting 'play'. All of you... I'm sorry for being too weak to save you, but I WILL make sure that your souls fine peace. That's what a real Necromancer does.

Junpei Iori, Okina Senior Combat Adviser
"...Ta da da da! I'm da man!"

No sooner had the read-haired girl disappeared from the lobby than the front door of the complex flew open, the foot of a tall young man stepping through the front door...the rest of him obscured by a stack of thin, white boxes that piled up over their carrier's face.

"Hey hey! Pizza's here!" a small grunt escaped him as he nearly tripped over the step between the outside and the lobby of the building, but he caught himself just before the top box on the shelf of delicious-smelling food tumbled out of his grip and haplessly onto the floor of the living room before them. Once through the door he turned sideways, a goatee-clad chin and a backwards blue cap adorning the face of a tall, lanky, but visibly muscular young man, and a pair of strong arms lugging a stack of pizzas that would have proven a challenge for any of them with only a small amount of difficulty. He was young, no older than twenty, but still quite obviously older than any of the other current residents of the dormitory; more importantly, the insignia on the band covering the arm of his custom baseball jersey marked him as a member of the Okina Group's now-parent organization, the Shadow Operatives. An insignia that was usually classified, it should be noted, but that he had cleverly decided to wear upon his first appearance in the dorm as one of its two newly-appointed advisers. Of course, he had met some of the members of the new team before, but others weren't quite as familiar with him as he would have hoped for a group he was supposed to help train and educate. Hell, he wasn't even this gig was quite right for him in the first place. Teaching kids? Him? Even when it came to combat, he would have been a much better choice. Now he was a dorm/apartment adviser and a combat instructor? He knew he had grown, but this was a step he could never have imagined...and yet Fuuka had still recommended him for it when Mitsuru told the once-meek young girl she could choose an adviser from the Ops to take with her. He was touched, and he knew that he had grown significantly since their SEES days in both maturity and confidence, but he was also worried that she had put herself on the line for him.

Was he ready for this task? ...Well, if pizza wasn't a good way to get off on the right foot, he really didn't know what else was.

"C'mon, don't leave me hanging in here...I know how the walls in places like this echo!" he called out for any of the dormitory residents that were in range to hear them, "These things aren't light, you know!"

"But, Junpei-kun...I told you I could help with those!" Came another voice from behind the young man, a petite girl with teal hair and a concern look in her greenish-blue eyes coming in behind him. Hands tried to keep the stacked boxes from tilting and falling, the girl keeping on the tip of her toes to reach most of them. Her protests had gone unheard before when they had picked up dinner from the pizza place, and Fuuka let out a little sigh, despite the chuckles escaping her lips. If anything, they were a comedic sight: him, tall and lean with a ridiculous tall tower of pizza boxes in his hands, and her, small and short, moving side to side in an attempt to keep them from falling (even if Junpei seemed to have it under control). "Just don't drop them, alright?" she teased lightly, "It'd be awful if this was how the guys remembered their supervisors...Promising pizza and then not delivering."

They hadn't been in those dorms for long, but Fuuka could say she felt mostly at home. The place was similar than the dorm back in Inaba...and of course, their old dorm back in Iwatodai. The only difference, and what was making her slightly nervous, was that here, she was in charge. She was meant to guide the new team, along with Junpei; to help them when they needed some support. She was grateful Mitsuru-san trusted her well enough to give her this job, and letting her choose someone to do this with. Didn't take away the slight nervousness she felt, but...she knew that with Junpei, they'd be able to guide the new team in the right direction.

If anything, buying them dinner and getting to know all of them would help with that just a bit. Getting to know this new guys would bring them together, right? Fuuka couldn't say she knew much about them...or them about her or Junpei, but hopefully, that would change soon. "We are baaack~ A-anyone?"

Junpei Iori, Okina Senior Combat Adviser
"...Ta da da da! I'm da man!"

"C'mon Fuuka, let a guy pamper you once in a while," the older young man's voice groaned, playfully annoyed as he glanced over his shoulder at the seafoam-haired young woman that had followed him into the building; there was, of course, more than a shred of truth to his objection to letting her help him carry the pizza. It wasn't that he thought she couldn't handle them, of course, because he had known her for more than long enough to understand how capable she actually was. And it actually was true that he was helping her more for her sake than any sort of stubbornness. Still, he couldn't just come out and say that he was trying to be a gentleman for her sake, another tiny demonstration of how much he had changed since their days together at the dormitory back in Iwatodai, so in the end, humor was the best way to casually admit the truth without coming right out and saying it. Though somewhere in the back of his mind he had the feeling she could see right through him...with or without the help of her persona. The thought didn't really bother him as it might have some time ago, though. In the end, the two of them were good for one another...with, one another...professionally, that is! Oh man, if she heard him thinking like that...he could practically feel the nervous sweat bead on the back of his head. As much as he had grown, sometimes the diminutive girl by his side could still make him feel like that confused Junior who had fawned over the 'new girl on the team' before he had ever really met her. But her trust in him was evidence enough of something...something that he was doing right. Right?

"Besides, it's better if the kids come down and give me a hand! Having dinner together is supposed to be a bonding experience, isn't it?" he laughed a little uneasily, his breath catching as he made one big step to avert another balance catastrophe, and then finally crossed over the barrier into the kitchen area, the mound of boxes settling at the center of the little table in the center of the room. After all this time, they had still kept the same design for nearly all of their simple dormitory and apartment facilities...whether because it was easier to build them all the same, because of some strange sense of nostalgia, or some reason beyond his understanding, he had to say he appreciated the familiarity. He'd barely even needed to look to know how many steps it took to get to the table before dropping the load of pizza atop it. Of course, a part of that was the result of his own training...an informal, but quite intense few months of learning how to both fight better and teach those he wished to share his knowledge with about the shadows...a requirement he had enforced upon himself before he would allow Mitsuru and the others to officially draft him into the ranks of the Shadow Operatives.

He took this job seriously. Far more seriously than he had when he first joined SEES, all that time ago. Back then he had been desperate to lead, but knew now that would have been a disaster. Now, he hadn't wanted the job at all...knowing how tough it was going to be to guide these kids, to make sure they made the tough choices and could do what was required. And yet Fuuka had nominated him...she had believed in him. Perhaps it was the weight he now felt, that reluctance to jump into the role, that proved he was finally ready.

"Hellooooo~? C'mon! There's like, 10 people living here! Somebody's got to be home and craaaving some pizza!" he called out, glancing towards the stairs and listening for the sound of footsteps...before looking back at Fuuka and scratching his hat-clad, longer hair with a slightly-embarrassed smile, "Man, you think they just don't like me? If it had been Mitsuru-senpai back when we were students, everyone would have been down here in a minute, all jacked up and trying to avoid an execution!"

Oowada Ishimaru
User Image

As Lira-san had explained to him that he should stop enforcing the rules so much, Ishimaru was just about ready to snap again before Saito-san had explained to him what she had taken from the cabinets and how it was within the rules. Then, he calmed down all before Saito-san had put him in a headlock. Reactively, he had elbowed him in the gut to allow himself some freedom. But when he had heard some voices he was not completely familiar about, he had turned around to see that it was Yamagishi-san and Iori-san. Instinctively, he had gotten into position, and with a loud and booming voice, he had shouted "ATTENTION ON DECK!" His focus on gathering everyone else's attention to the current happenings as well.

"Junpei-San, Fuuka-San! Sorry." A voice came from down the hall, followed soon by a tall, pony-tailed young woman, also donning a white head-wrap. "I was dusting my room and didn't hear you come in. Junpei-San, let me help you with those!" She said taking half of the boxes from her mentor and carrying them to a nearby table. They weren't light, but the training she had undergone to become combat ready, combined with her... Somewhat unique weapon choice, made the odd bit of lifting a breeze.

As for the dusting, well. Not being a student anymore meant Miwako had quite a bit of time to herself during the day. Cleaning was slowly becoming a small hobby. Among other basic homely things.
Despite her short time in the dorm, she had more-or-less cleaned her room from top to bottom before she moved her belongings in.
Not a neat freak by any stretch, but a hobby was a hobby.
"Ishimaru! Stop standing there and give your Senpai a hand." She chided playfully. Despite his intentions, this was hardly a job for everyone.
"Call their attention after we have everything in, no?" She smiled happily and began entering the kitchen to produce a plate for everyone.

As Miwako-san had came down to help out with getting the food ready, he had had relaxed from his position and had walked over to Iori-san to grab his own stack of pizzas, a lot less then what Miwako-san had grabbed due to his own stature being smaller then hers, but he himself was able to handle the amount he had grabbed. Then, after he had put the pizzas on the table, he walked into the kitchen with Miwako san to help setting up the table, grabbing napkins and utensils to eat the pizza with. "I will talk to you later on, Saito-san." Ishimaru remarked to Saito-san in regards to what he had said before about him wanting to have a "man-to-man" talk.

"It's only attention On Deck, if you're on deck, Ishimaru. I don't think any of us have enlisted in the navy quite yet." Saitou chuckled a bit as he turned away from the kitchen counter and looked over at the stack of pizzas, wiping his hands on a dish cloth to dry them. "Ah, Iori...um, we had dinner earlier, Junpei. I thought I sent you several messages?" Saitou sweatdropped as the Dormitory Advisor came in with pizza, even though they'd sent him a few texts earlier that day. In fact, he'd been out so long with Ms. Yamagishi that rumors were starting to spread...

"If you're going to call the others, Everett is in Mashiba's room. I believe the two of them are tuning a guitar, so you should probably knock first." Saitou advised Ishimaru, none too suggestively. It was in fact true that they were in that room together, and there was in fact a guitar involved. Though, as to whether there was some subtle sub-text in there or not, Saitou could not (or in reality, would not) quite say..."Lira just grabbed a snack and a movie, so I believe she won't want pizza for a while, it's probably best if you leave her be Ishimaru. And I'm not sure if Shay, Miji, or Eido are in their rooms. None of them have made a peep in hours." Saitou looked over the stack of pizza boxes, mentally counting the rather large number of them Junpei had bought. It was true they were a bunch of teenagers, but even then there were several sheepish girls, and with half of the team nowhere to be found..."I'm sorry Junpei, but now might not have been the best time for pizza. I'll definitely take a piece though." Saitou commented honestly.

"Umeboshi?" Saitou reached behind him and grabbed one of the extremely salty snacks, offering it to the male dorm rep. Was hoping he took it a prank? Maybe a little, but it didn't matter if Mashiba didn't show up soon. Saitou had already repeated the countdown in his head a few times, but he started once again, hoping that maybe this time wishful thinking could become a reality. 'Five...four...three...two...'

Lira Chronicle, the Necromancer

Faintly, over the sound of screams and splatters, Lira could hear the muffled noises of people coming in down on the first floor. Something about... food? Meh, she had snacks already, and they'd come get her if it was really important. With that, the girl tugged open a box of cookie-dough pieces and started popping them into her mouth as she lay back on her bed and kept watching the movie. Of course, most horror films were little more than mindless background entertainment at this point, though she did rather enjoy trying to predict the "plot twists" before they happened. Still, it was fun to do... and in the end, that was all that really mattered to her.

A glance was sent Junpei's way along with a soft chuckle, letting the matters be, for the moment. "Thanks Junpei kun" She wasn't going to complain, even if she really wanted to help him however she could (all those boxes weren't light!), when he was being this sweet; when he was doing this for her. She believed in him, and she knew the effort he was putting...how nervous he was about the idea of leading. That...somehow eased her, as strange as it may have sounded. They both had grown and changed since that time in the Iwatodai dorm...and they knew the responsibilities that were now in their shoulders. Knowing he was nervous let her see he was being serious about it... and she knew...that even if they both felt they weren't all that ready for this job...that he would support her, and she would support him. They had grown closer during the last few months, and...she really enjoy his company. She knew they would be able to do this.

"I do hope they like these pizzas. I wish this helps unite the group." The seafoam-haired young woman chirped as she followed her companion to the kitchen. When he spoke, she laughed lightly, shaking her head. "Oh, no, Junpei-kun. I am sure they like you well enough...Perhaps...they are busy?" Fuuka suggested, even if a little doubt could be heard in her tone. "Though, you are right... Mitsuru-senpai isn't someone you want to cross." The thought brought a bit of nostalgia. There had been interesting days back then...if...you didn't count the stress of fighting shadows and Nyx, that was. Eyes shifted when she heard voices, Oowada and Saito talking; the former immediately helping with the boxes and calling everyone's attention with a stern shout that made her jump a bit. She wasn't used to the rigid way of the red eyed guy, though...she knew he meant well. "See? Here they are..." she whispered to her goatee chinned companion, just as a tall figure walked in as well. "Oh, Miwako san, that is quite all right." It was looking good. Perhaps they could get the whole team here and have dinner all together after all!

And then Saito shattered her hopes and dreams when he said they already had dinner. "H-huh? Really?" Greenish-blue eyes turned to Junpei, a small, sheepish chuckle escaping her lips. "Well...um..." She turned to look at the pizzas, and then back at the people around, before giving a defeated sigh. "I just...wanted to surprise everyone." There was a slight disappointment in her gaze, before a soft smile graced her features. "Well... there's always next time, right?" And...well, they would have enough pizza to eat for the next couple of days.

Junpei Iori, Okina Senior Combat Adviser
"...Ta da da da! I'm da man!"

T'was the day before the Okina team would start back to high school, and all through the apartment/dormitory complex, not a creature was stirring...except for Junpei Iori. Through the dark of the lobby and the silence of early morn', his lanky frame slipped from behind the front desk with the click of his office-bedroom door. With the swiftness of practice, he crept over the floor...careful not to cause a creak or a groan in the new floorboards. Through the living room and lobby he moved like a long, black cat; his stomach gently growling, reminding him that he had yet to eat this morning, and missed last night's dinner. Of course, it had been made by Fuuka, so in a way, he was a winner. Though he would never tell her that, or imply that as well. He liked being in her good graces, if the truth he must tell.

...The Christmas metaphors were getting tired after the first few moments, so as he stopped rhyming his actions inside of his head, he simply moved quietly as possible (as to avoid waking the others earlier than necessary) to the refrigerator and opened the door, pulling out the last of the formerly-many boxes of cold pizza from inside.

"Now that's what I'm talkin' about! Sweet, cold pizza! Breakfast of champions," the young man laughed quietly to himself, settling the box on the table and opening it to see half a frozen, several-day old pizza pie lingering in front of him, "Man, I never expected these things to last as long as they did. Guess the welcoming pizza party was an even bigger failure than I thought..." His fingers scratched at the long hair brushing against the smooth skin on the back of his neck, other strong hand scooping up a slice of cold pizza and bringing it to his lips. It did look a little...gamey?...maybe...but Hell, he was sure it was still good! And it wouldn't do to just let the pizza go to waste after they had bought it. Hell, working only in construction until he had signed on with the Shadow Operatives, he didn't make enough money for that! Bachelor life sure was rough...though if he had his way...well...

"Still, I guess it's not all bad," Junpei smirked, feeling only slightly guilty at the pizza dangling precariously close to his lips, "Even if I get sick, it'll probably be better than if I'd eaten Fuuka's..."

He trailed off, sensing an ominous presence nearby...

Everything was quiet around her, thought it didn't surprise the seafoam-haired girl. It was early after all...and since the team wasn't starting school until tomorrow, she guessed they were enjoying their last day of waking up late. She had always been an early bird, though, and had been up for for a bit now, working on a few things Mitsuru had asked her to do before she had left Inaba. Though, one could work as long without food, and surely enough, her stomach growled just then. Perhaps she could make something quick for herself. Perhaps some cereal or something easy that wouldn't mean setting the whole kitchen on fire. N-not that her cooking was as terrible, but... yes!

The young woman slipped out of her room at the fourth floor, closing the door behind her silently. It still felt strange staying in this room; it was big and different from the place she had had back in Iwatodai, but...she couldn't say it wasn't nice. And she had the meeting room just outside, with all the screens and gizmos that entertained her so much. Shaking her head to clear her thoughts, Fuuka focused on the task in hand: going down the stairs without making noise. Lucky for her, the stairs didn't squeak, and she was able to reach the first floor without much noise. She stopped only for a second though, listening to some quiet shifting and rumbling. Oh, someone was up. And as she closed by, she could see it was Junpei. That...was a surprise, she had to admit. A nice one, though. She didn't expect him to be up this early, but...well, at least now, he could help her with breakfast! Lips parted to greet him, when her name caught her attention. Hm? What was he saying?

"My what?" the teal haired young woman asked curiously, the thought at the back of her mind that he was talking about her horrible cooking shoved to the side for now when she saw the seven day old pizza in his hand. "No, wait! Don't eat that!" Fuuka rushed over to his side, snatching the moldy slice from his hand, before throwing it away on the trash. "Really, do you want to get food poisoning or something?" Really, he was lucky she hadn't paid enough attention to what he was saying...And that she cared enough about him to stop him from eating that slice of cold, old pizza.

~Shinpachi Saito, Master of the Dark Persona~

*Snnnnnnoooorreeee* It was true that on top of the Okina City dorm there was a sign that said not to open the door. And while most people would have obeyed that sign, never opening the mysterious passage, never stepping out onto the rooftop of the dorm that was almost identical to that of it's counterpart in Iwatodai from several years prior, there happened to be one man who did not think inside the box so easily. Saitou didn't mean any harm to others, but the fact was that the former head of the Dark Team had a tendency to sleep in, and while he wasn't particularly proud of it, it had been proven time and again that when someone tried to wake him up early or rudely, bad things were known to happen to them. It was for this reason that Saitou had put his brilliance into action and come up with some forward thinking; and now the rooftop of the Okina Dorm was a place for him to take relaxing naps, at least before the weather changed for the worse. And knowing that he might LITERALLY murder the next person to wake him up, he'd changed the lock on the door to the rooftop, so that it was now unopenable from the inside unless one had the key...the key, which he had on his person. Maybe it wasn't the best way to keep a good attendance record at school, and maybe it was a little severe, but lets be honest...he was not being woken up by Ishimaru. I mean, really, it was for Ishimaru's own good. If he came knocking on Saitou's door one more time, he would have lost his life.

But that hadn't happened yet. And Saitou had made one more key, just in case, but that was in the hands of someone he trusted more than anyone else here, at least for the time being. So what were the chances he'd be disturbed, am I right?
