Lance made a small noise of agreement as he walked around. "Is there anything we aren't allowed to do or have??" Paint, pets... Some places were rather particular about these things.

"Small pets are fine, just nothing big and nothing loud." She said. "Neighbors complain and you've got three strikes, then you're out, and these are good walls."
Alistair coughed. "I'm sure there will be nothing to worry about as far as noise violations, ma'am," he said, moving towards the kitchen area. "Oh! This is nice," he said, sounding genuinely excited. A good kitchen was definitely a selling point.

Lance twitched slightly. Well wasn't she the most cheery thing ever. He trailed after Ali into the kitchen. "Think this will be big enough for just two of us?"

"I think this will be plenty," he said, fingers running over the countertops. "Can we see the back?" He asked.
"Alright," The landlord said, crossing her arms. Alistair hummed happily, seemingly oblivious to her sour attitude, going from the kitchen into the back hallway where the bedrooms and bathroom were.

"She's a cheery thing isn't she?" Lance said, ducking his head low next to Ali's ear. "Don't fall in love just yet, it's only the first place you've looked."

"First place and I'd rather not deal with a landlord as sour as her," Alistair replied, his voice equally low. "Can you imagine asking her about maintenance issues? Don't worry, I'm not falling in love."

The blonde snorted. That was one hell of an act then. Maybe Alistair was having more fun pretending he was interested then he was in looking about. "So what do you think about the back?" Lance asked, louder so the landlord could hear him. There was no missing the dopey grin on the blondes face. He knew what the answer was. Alistair might like the place but Ali hated dealing with sour, crabby people. "I'd like to revisit the idea I said earlier."

Alistair just flashed his boyfriend a smile. If he couldn't pretend to be happy in front of someone he disliked, he was failing as an actor, really. "Oh, it's nice," he said lightly, "certainly worth considering at least...though I would like to look into what you mentioned earlier."

"Did you want to head over there then?? We have the papers for this so we can always come back." He glanced at the land lord. ...Maybe. Maybe they'd come back.

"Sounds wonderful," Alistair said. He was eager to get out of the company of someone who so obviously distrusted them. "Best to consider our options before committing, anyway."

"After you then." Lance said shifting out of the way and holding his arm out. Now he was just being a dork, because once again that grin was back on his face. "I remember the way." He said as he pulled out Alistair's keys from his pocket. He hadn't meant to stash them, it had just been second nature.

Alistair laughed, but he did indeed walk in front of Lance, stepping out of the apartment with a polite goodbye to the landlady.
"Hopefully she doesn't mind us dropping by," he said, and he eyed his keys - but if there was anyone he trusted with his car, it was Lance.

"I'm sure she won't be too mad, especially if we explain the situation." He then raised a brow. "...Did you want to drive? I thought you liked it when I chauffeured you around?" If it wasn't the end of November, and ya know cold as all hell, they'd be zipping all over town on Lance's bike. But the blonde didn't want to risk anything. The weather was crazy enough around here.

He said, laughing a little. "I trust you with my car, which says quite a bit. I don't usually trust people with my car."

"Habit." He replied he replied automatically. "I'm use to doing it with my bike." The blonde replied, putting emphasis on the word bike just to watch the land lord twitch from the corner of his eye.
