"Oh, yeah," agreed Megiddo, now remembering the utterly bewildering laser. At the time, she'd wondered if it had even happened at all in the heat of the battle. "Brave kitty for sure," she added, watching Tortali pick the cat up. The senshi made an interesting point about the cat being tired out - "I guess upgrading you took a lot out of her," she shrugged. Not the Megiddo was going to complain about the senshi getting upgraded: it had sure saved both their asses. She figured the laser might have something to do with it, too.

"Megiddo, yeah," she nodded to the cat. "Megiddo Page of Saturn. And no... I haven't." The more she learned about the ins and outs of this game, the more she felt like she'd jumped in without reading the manual or background information, and now she was floundering for it.

The cat's offer was tempting, even if her parents had a strict No Pets policy. Megiddo nodded. "Okay," she said. "For one night. I'll raid the kitchen for you and you can fill me in." She doubted the cat could tell her much about knighthood - but she was at the point of wanting whatever information she could get.

But right now - right now they'd just dusted a totally awful youma! Megiddo grinned at Tortali and raised a hand for a high five. "We did it!" she exclaimed. "We totally kicked its a**!" After a moment's more thought, she added, "Did you mean it when you called me pretty?" and hoped it didn't sound too stuck-up. Even if she was totally preening internally.

Megiddo took the cat from Tortali, pretended to groan at the weight of her, and then adjusted her grip on her pitcher so that Julienne could rest comfortably on her crossed arms. "Well, thanks," she blushed, and would have given her hair a little twirl if her hands weren't full. Instead, she tossed her head a little so that the purple waves could cascade over her shoulders. "I didn't exactly pick the outfit, but as far as these things go, I think I lucked out."

She tried to think of some change about Tortali's outfit post-upgrade to compliment her on, but the truth was that Megiddo hadn't exactly gotten a very good look at her to begin with. Meaningful glances were hard to come by in the heat of battle. "I like your new hood," she said, pretty sure that Tortali hadn't started the battle with it. "And your braids are really neat!"

But, alas, Tortali's comments about work in the morning reminded Megiddo that it was a school night for her. "Yeah, I'd better go, too," she agreed. "I'll, uh, I'll see you around?" After all, how hard could it be to find one senshi on any given night in Destiny City?

Don't answer that.

"I'd wave, but..." she nodded to the sleeping cat in her arms. "Good night."

And with that, she turned and headed for home.
