"I'm not that sassy," Zia rolled her eyes and pointed him to the sectional sofa in front of the TV. "Look, it would just make me feel better if you shut up and let me take care of you and eat your melty ice cream, okay? So deal with it."
She gave his arm a light shove. "I am the sanest one around, okay? I'm just..."
She let out a long, overdramatic groan of cartoonish level anguish. Too many feelings lately, man.
"Look I've bet on some shitty horses before, okay? I got the scars to prove it. But I got a good feeling about this one. As long as, you know, he doesn't die in some stupid, unnecessary way."
Secretly the universe decided Realgar needed a fourth cat.

"Fine, fine." The ice pack felt ok, and he really really didn't have the energy to fight with someone who wanted to heal not hurt. "I think if the universe was going to kill me in a dramatically unnecessary way it's had some pretty good chances and didn't... however" He hastily added the addendum before she got upset again as he carefully made a path for the couch, wondering if he should try and take the boots off (did the boots even come off? He'd never tried.). "I do get your point, I'll... try and take it a bit easier." Try. He really had no idea what was going to happen between now and his purification, so the best he could do was to offer to try. "Better eat that ice cream, it's not gonna last much longer in that cold-bag." He suggested. "Maybe I shoulda brought chili burgers instead. Universal late night snack of us Crazy Horses."

Realgar had the briefest reprieve when Zia fished out one of the spoons and flopped back on the dangerously white sofa with the ice cream, kicking off her sneakers so she could sit crosslegged up on the sofa.
She glanced around suspiciously as if someone was around to hear such talk and shrugged. Mouth crammed full of dripping ice cream, manners weren't an apparent concern since she had no qualms telling him matter of factly "Chili burgers would get soggy, Crazy Horse. And either way my mom is going to complain you're making me fat."
This was fact. Caroline might not be the antichrist as Zia previously assumed, but she was still pretty vain and mainted an unhealthy obsession with her daughter's appearance.
"You know... You can crash here. After you... You know. Just until you get back on your feet and junk," She said, trying to sound casual and not like she had been thinking about and obsessing over it like she had been. She shifted, spoon still in her mouth to gingerly move his hair aside and inspect his bruises with invasive closeness and very carefully reappying ice.

"Zee..." He wasn't prepared for the emotional gut punch that came with the offer, pretty sure she hadn't meant it to have that kind of impact. He cleared his throat slightly, and started over, hoping he didn't sound pathetically choked up over being offered a couch to crash on. God they really were a messed up pair, huh? "Your mom needs to step off, you're fine. And I.... holy crap that's a hell of an offer... I don't know what to tell you." He really didn't. Hadn't even figured out what do do with his cats. Did he rehome them? If so to who? Let alone figuring out where to go, what to do. A lot hinged on what memories he had left. He didn't even know if he would know what end of the wrench was which afterward.

Zia seemed more interested in shoveling ice cream in her mouth and making sure she was fully cleaning off the spoon instead of looking him in the eye or anything, especially since he was acting like this was an 'oh my god amazing' gesture.
She wanted to keep him close and make things easier on him, and besides, she had so much space...
"Don't be such a girl about it, I'm not used to living alone anyway. Besides, there's an empty guestroom just kind of wasting away here."
With Caroline off world trekking again, they were actually all spare rooms. God, how depressing.
"You let me crash at your buddy's and you're purifying so I can at least get something out of the deal to and have you just... exist in my space." She stopped to rescue the stark white sofa from an ice cream drippage with her tongue with absolutely no class in the process. "Especially if you're going to bring food."

"...Is now an weird time to point out that you just used your own gender as an insult?" He chuckled softly, if a bit gingerly as he added. "I can see it now, my great legasy to the world from before loosing unknown amounts of memory to playing turn coat will be writing down my pulled pork recipe so it doesn't get lost to a game of Cosmic chess." He held up one hand in a gesture as though framing a headline and recited dramatically. "He was an a**. But he made a damn good pulled pork sandwich." Well that sounded a bit more like an obituary than he intended... "...OK there's a good reason I'm not in journalism." He apologized.

Zia gave him a weird look and a dramatic shrug before she rolled her eyes.
She knew he was going to lose his memory and it was going to be rough. Hell, Zirconia's memories were a huge ******** of disjointed feelings and large blanks and unexplained things. Though, if she was being honest, finding out a portion of that came from purifying was a revelation and a great relief. Self interest was at play here, as it always was.
"Oh stop. I will take care of you and it will be fine," She stated and this time shoveled ice cream into his mouth, and reached for the remote.
Here is the point a sane person would be concerned they were going to be an amnesiac under the care of a self absorbed narcissist who would be totally comfortable filling in their memories for them.

The noise Realgar made as hhe attempted not to choke on, or get brain freeze from, an unexpected assault by melting icecream was probably as amusing as unintelligible, and he flapped a hand in muted protest, since it would have been rude to spit out the ice cream, regardless of his opinions on the mater. "I thought you said you were done assaulting me with ice cream?" He finally managed.

"I didn't assault you," Zia said with an incredibly serious frown. She fed him, the ungrateful a*****e. She was taking care of him and being nice and he was being a butt about it.
She didn't even change spoons in this grand gesture either. Ew.
"Sorry, here, you can hold the ice cream. Do you think you have the energy to teleport out? I mean... when you want to go," She figured she'd throw that bone in there so it didn't seem to much like she was holding him hostage or anything.
Even though she was kind of holding him hostage.

"If I didn't have the energy to teleport I wouldn't be out and powered up." He offered. "I'm fine, I brought the ice cream for you." He added. "Sorry I'm just not used to people stuffing food in my mouth." He wasn't going to mention that the last time someone had intruded on his person in that way, it had been a General King's hand reaching for his star seed.

"As long as you're fine," Zia accepted that answer with almost no fight, because it was the answer she wanted. She didn't know about his discomfort or how it related to his corruption, and she sure as hell wasn't about to put two and two together.
She wanted him to be fine and she wanted him to stay and be a comforting stand in for a while. And besides.
"Sorry, I guess I'm a little... clingy..." To the point of nearly breaking his teeth. "I guess I get overzealous. I prefer having you around to not, though, especially since I'd probably be out partying and dealing with another bad hookup or nearly getting my a** kicked by the less friendly members of your faction," She said with a snort.
