Not that Milo had any intention to severely injure his opponents, that just seemed like bad karma and having just met this guy something that could start their relationship on a bad foot. Didn't stop Koume from stirring in the back of his mind, telling him to unleash the Fear they had gathered. Maybe it was for the fat comment.
And maybe him trying to even the playing field a little. Because the brunet just simply smiled, liking their for the moment distance as he flicked the blade downward as if he were going to swing the naginata like a gold club. Which was actually what he decided on doing while the runes glowed softly and the wind picked up. 'cause he swung and out went flying some raser sharp feather looking things. "Metaru Tsuisuta ~" He yelled along with it (yes, English words said with a Japanese accent, so sue him).
"They pick us, ya?" He replied as the breeze settled back down, his green eyes flicked to the weapon in his hand "Wonder if they pick what they wanna be then." Jake had no idea what Milo just shouted, but he had a pretty good guess it was a charge, because he was pretty sure their weapon didn't have feathers on it, nor were feathers supposed to resemble such projectiles anyways.
"Yah, I think so," he huffed, catching his breath after the barrage. Thank goodness for barriers.
"Oh, I never though about that."
He pondered for a moment.
"What is your weapon, if I may ask?"

It was probably kind of a d**k move to continue attacking, since Jake hadn't in about two turns. But, Milo also hadn't heard any sort of request for a stop. So, he once again slashed at the teal haired hunter whilst enjoying a nice informative conversation.
"Will have to ask, when she's in a better mood," the Sun chuckled as he spun said weapon around as he seemed prone to do.
"Koume?" He questioned, giving her one more rotation so he could flop the head of the staff onto his hand to hold her out in front of him, "Shizuka..." Added in after a disgruntled demand for a proper introduction. "She's a naginata, a real old style Japanese weapon. Somethin' samurai used." Milo explained.
And because these needed to always be referenced. "Dairangers used them too, they were pretty sweet and changed form."Quote: hp: 29/40 damage: 5 charge: 1/3 - 1/2 used

It's ok, Jake was used to having people beat him up.
"Better mood?"
He gave Milo a puzzled look, oblivious to the fact that he was the cause for the weapon's temper.
"I... see..."
He had no idea what dairangers were, but decided it wasn't something he really needed to know. At least for the time being.

It seemed Koume was trying to demonstrate how not pleased she still was with Milo's rather off attack. Not like she had any control on the matter, but it was almost like he was hitting air. "She's never in a very good one, haha." He replied.

Though he had no idea what a tengu was, the first thing that came to mind was some sort of giant vulture. Perhaps that would explain her foul mood (haha).

Jake took the moment to get a swing in, trying to take advantage of Milo's slip up, only to end up slipping up himself, delivering a weak blow.
"Have you ever tried putting your weapon into a golem?"

Jake's attack was easy enough to dodge with only a small nick of damaging pinging against his shield. But in the grandeur of trying to look rather cool while doing it, his countering swing went a little wide.

"They can. Sometimes it's easier to talk to your weapon in person. It'll also give your mind some rest, if you ever need it."
Though Milo's swing was wide, it did manage to nick his fear shield a bit, and Jake frowned, noticing a charge. Though he could probably still take another hit or two, charges were always a risky thing, and in his current condition, probably something he shouldn't chance. Besides, it was pretty clear who the victor of this spar was.
He lowered the daggers, showing he had no intention to attack again.
"Ha, I guess that's that. Thanks for the spar."

Milo hadn't noticed the soft glow of the runes until Jake lowered his daggers and prompted an end to their spar. Honestly, he had never gotten to the point of being able to release the charged attack twice before so it was kind of a surprise to him when he relaxed his stance and let his eyes drift downward to the blade. Koume simply scoffed but mostly out of annoyance of not being able to attack the teal haired guy further for his offhanded comment from earlier.
"I'm good to stop if you are," he smiled, flipping the naginata up and onto his shoulder and taking another glance at it as he mulled over Jake's words.
"That golem stuff seems kinda neat, ya? You done it?" He asked. "Whats your weapon like, brah? Never got to ask." He got to share, might as well find out what other neat things were lingering about.

Jake tucked the daggers into his belt and held up his hands, indicating he had no further intention of attacking.
"Yah, I'd rather not land myself in the infirmary again so quickly."
Really, he was pretty sure they were sick of seeing him there.
"It is, and I have. He's..."
He turned his head, not sure what to say.
"Maybe I'll let you two meet someday, I'm sure it'd be a lot better than me trying to describe him to you. He's... one of a kind."

Milo gave Jake a small nod of acknowledgement to his hand gestures, he had no intention to be a douche and attack after they had this accord and gathered that the other guy wouldn't either from his comment. But hey, if those daggers weren't being dismissed than Koume wasn't either. Besides, he was growing comfortable with having her resting on his shoulder and he felt rather cool doing it. "Wouldn't wanna land you there, doesn't sound like an awesome place to be." The brunet shrugged. Infirmaries never did unless it looked like the place from Harry Potter or something. But they never did.
With the topics of golems though, the Sun found his head tilting slightly in mild curiosity over what kind of creature his new found friend could have (and made a mental note to find a nickname). He shifted his stance a little but brightened up again, "Dude, that sounds awesome. Maybe you can show me how it works or something, can meet your guy and my partner here." And lifted the Naginata for a moment before settling her back down.

Had he known the sun hunter was already coming up with a nickname, he would have tried to convince him "no" and hi-tailed it out of there, but sadly, he couldn't read minds. Instead, he only shifted uncomfortably and gave Milo an awkward smile at the mention of Chester. Bringing it up only made it hurt more, and it wasn't something he wanted to think about at the moment.
"Sure, but... perhaps another time. I have to... do some things. Thanks again for the spar."

And that no would have been ignored but thankfully they didn't have to cross that bridge so Milo was in the clear of mentally running through Super Sentai shows (and Kamen Rider if he was really pressed for ideas) for name possibilities. One would come, they did eventually.
Would have to be saved for next time though, and honestly Milo was a little glad he wasn't having to think of one on the spot right now (some people were hard to pin down). "Totally, would love a round 2," he called after the retreating Jake with a little wave of his own.
Once gone, Milo spun on his heels and returned to the training dummies while he whistled the Shinkenger theme.[a.v.] just adding my little end *salute* and thank you for the rp ouo
