Ys blinked as he heard the camera going off, something of a frown crossing his face.

"Hey! What are you taking pictures for?" He said, feeling slightly jealous of the statue and its inscription. This was supposed to be his wonder, right? He wasn't sure how he felt about other people taking pictures of it... "At least send that to me, too..."

Zia was seeming very much not as nervous as they had both been feeling just moments ago and her lack of fear went a long way towards making him forget his. Salvageable, huh? Just what was running through that purple head?

"Hey now! This is my wonder, remember? I hope you're not planning on... sacking the place, or something..." The tall knight said as he pulled the arm she'd been clinging to away, if she was even still holding it. If there was cool stuff in the creepy place, then HE wanted to be the one to have it... or maybe it was better to leave it, who knows what kind of curse might be on the stuff. Best way to make Ys refocus... benefit to someone over him.

"If you want to see the inside, fine, but NO TOUCHING anything." He said firmly, giving her a bit of an eye. "Deal?"

“Scientific documentation!” Or just flat out tourism, but that was Zia’s answer and she was sticking to it. “You want copies? I can do that.”

And there was a terrible part of her that wanted whatever delivery method for digital photos he was going to give her, because she hoarded and collected contact information like a beast and would definitely use it for other purposes.

When he asked if she was planning on sacking the place and pulled his arm away, she grinned and a small laugh escaped as one hand rose to play with the stone necklace she was wearing that she’d stolen from Alfheim’s wonder.

“No touching, I promise. Nothing,” She said, using that same hand for a crossed heart gesture. “But please, can we go see?”

Somehow, though he sort of doubted her real intentions, her quip about scientific documentation was solid enough to hold some water. After all, he knew she was gathering information on knights, having been the subject of her investigation before. His wonder could be an extension of that.

He eyed her askance at the cross-my-heart gesture, but in the end he shrugged.

"If I catch you taking anything, I'm never bringing you back." Ys warned as he started towards the manor house, his long strides covering the distance with ease. He was actually pretty okay leaving the creepy cliff and statue behind, though as they approached the front doors he was not sure creepy mansion was much better.

The front doors were two huge, carved panels of some dark wood, swinging inwards by the looks of things, and probably extremely heavy. Ys had the sudden, bizarre urge to knock, but he restrained himself with effort. There's no one here, you wanker. Who's going to answer the bleeding door? A long fingered hand reached towards the corroded metal doorknob and wrapped around it firmly, a twist of the wrist turning said knob as the young man pushed the door....

And nothing happened. The door remained firmly shut and Ys stared at it in complete disbelief.

"Its locked." He said, completely at a loss.

"Understood," Zia said with a firm nod. Never being allowed back was a devastating thought but not one she considered a possibility. She figured she could easily bully Ys and if she couldn't she thought Luxor might be a good attack dog, assuming he'd let her tug his leash.

Still, she could pretend to take him seriously.

"Oh... Do you think it'd be terribly hard to break in?" She chirruped, leaning far to the side to inspect the door handle from all angles.

Stepping back, the performer waved a hand at the knob and lock, shrugging.

"I don't know, I don't pick locks. You want to give it a try? Maybe there is a window or something I can get in through.." Ys said as he left the door to Zia, on the off chance she had some sort of super cat (lol) burglar skills he didn't know about. Not like there had been an instance where they'd needed to get past a lock before.

Moving around the side of the manor, the tall knight started prying at windows with his fingers, testing out the locks to see if one might have escaped notice. Or, you know... maybe he'd find one already broken that he could get in through. He'd really rather not have to break open a window on his first visit to his wonder... it just smacked of a bad way to start things out.

Making his way back to the front of his house, he ran his hand along the moldings he could reach (which was an impressive amount really), on the off chance someone had left a key out. It was stupid that the door was locked... there had to be some trick to it, right? Something they were missing.

"I'm not much of a breaking and entering kind of gal," Zia admitted, watching him look around. But after a moment of thought, she shifted down to her fully feline form and sat on her haunches. "But I can fit into small spaces if you find one?"

At the very least what he'd have to break a smaller entryway.

"Or we could just go back to earth and try again later. Are you getting any memories?" She asked as she nonchalantly started grooming like it was no big deal. "Any pertinent information jogging?"

"Memories? Like what, what I had for tea yesterday?" Ys quipped as he turned away from the door to find a cat in place of the girl he had brought here. It was a long way down to look at her and his agile face gained a pained expression. He was never going to get used to her doing s**t like that... she spent most of her time in girl form and it was easy to forget she could sprout fur whenever she pleased. And she wasn't even a sleek little thing either, she was this huge fluffy... thing when she was a cat, making one thing she should have far more weight on her as a human than she did. It was unnerving, really.

Shaking his head, Ys ran his hands over the doorjab again and then down the surface of the front of the door, skirting the peacock that spread metal feathers out and held the knocker in the loop of head touched to chest. The wood felt warm, warmer than it should and he frowned at it as it seemed to pull something from him, jerking his hand back and shaking it at the pins and needles sensation. To his surprise, the eyes of the peacock lit up with purple light before the symbol of Saturn appeared glowing in the wood. As quickly as it appeared it was gone again with the heavy clunk of tumblers moving inside of the door. Ys rubbed his hand against his vest as though to clean off the feel of the wood and he eyed the door with misgivings.

"Bloody creepy mansion..." He muttered as he reached to try the doorknob again, not really surprised when the huge, heavy wood door creaked open in perfect horror movie fashion. Leaning inside, though not quite over the threshold yet, the page glanced about uncertainly at the interior of the victorian-esque house done up in rich ebony wood and drapes of luscious violet. The flash of lightning in the sky above glinted off the silver scattered about, from elaborate gothic candle sticks to mirrors on the walls in tasteful decoration. The figure of the peacock was subtle, but pervasive, carved into the base of the bannister that curved up the stairs off to the side and in the moldings and statues here and there.

"They need a new interior decorator." Ys said flatly as he stepped inside, wincing at the jangle of his bells in the silent house.

"Whaaaaa..." The cat gasped at the mechanism and shifted up to stand at full humanoid height, eyes wide and mouth agape.

"How did it... whoa." She reached to grab his hand like the palm that activated the door was going to yield some answers, but she found her reach flailing at mid air and she noticed he had walked ahead of her.

She bounced after him.

"Seems like it likes you," She teased. "You should be nicer to it. And touch more things to see if they light up."

She coughed a bit. "You know, for science."
