 David MarletThe sea is such a mysterious place... ≈∻≈∻≈ ∻ David cringed when Luther spilled the water on his legs, getting a good bit of it on his bed. Ignoring the wet spot on the bed he stared in shock at the tail as it formed. He had already seen it on the beach but it still amazed him. If his professor back at the lab could see this he would flip! This was possibly the biggest scientific discovery of the century... To bad he could never tell anyone or Luther would spend the rest of his life being experimented on. Taking a moment to look over the tail, David let his inner Biologist take over as he burned the image into his brain. It looks really bad. Maybe if I could get it into a splint it could be straightened and the skin or scales could grow back. But what about the muscles? Maybe it could still be fixed over time. He thought calmly as he tried to figure out what Luther's tale most resembled.
∻ Sadly before he could get any further in this investigation the tail disappeared. "Wait. Was that Latin you spoke?" He asked snapping his head up to look at Luther who was rearranging himself on the bed. He could remember taking Latin in high school. Maybe he still had his notes... "Wait one second." He muttered running over to his desk and opening up all of the drawers for his old Latin folder. "Aha!" He cheered pulling a ratty, orange folder out of his bottom right drawer. He flipped through the first couple of pages before he found the page he was looking for. "Tu loquerisne Latine? Linguam Latinam similis?" He asked hopefully not wanting to make the boy uncomfortable by speaking a foreign language.≈∻≈∻≈ ...wouldn't you agree? [{(ⓞ•ⓞ•ⓒ• Was that Latin? It looked like one of my cousin's old vocabulary words from when she was in high school.

Luther watched the Human's surprise and watched as he scurried about. What was he so excited about this time?? When the human came back he was a bit surprised to find that he spoke a little of Latin, if what one could call what he spoke Latin. It was certainly a poor dialect. Luther could tell that there was going to be a severe communication barrier between them and Luther couldn't have that if he was going to use this human to help him get back to his home. Luther gave him a look that was very much questioning the humans ability to speak his language. He grabbed the man's shirt and dragged him down onto the bed to place a rather forced kiss against the humans lips, blushing as he did so but this was the only way he knew to make the other understand.
After a minute or two Luther broke the kiss and wiped his mouth. "There...now you should be able to understand me." he said softly, letting the human stand and react as he pleased. "You speak my language poorly."
 ((Yes that was Latin but I don't speak Latin like at all and google translator and every other website wasn't working out so well. So I changed things a little tiny bit! ^^))

David Marlet The sea is such a mysterious place... ≈∻≈∻≈ ∻ David yelped in surprise when Luther pulled him down into a bruising kiss. He was more then a little shocked by the sudden development and wanted an explanation. But when he was released he could do nothing but stare at Luther and fall to his knees by the side of the bed. "Yeah... Wait you were able to learn English just by kissing me? I'm so confused. I think I need a second to collect my thoughts..." He said trailing off a bit before burying his face into the mattress. What am I supposed to do with a fish boy? I can't just keep him in my bed, and from the looks of his tail he can't go back to the ocean. And, there is no way I can give him to anyone else because that would be a danger to his life. He thought calmly, scratching the back of his neck as he looked back up at the other male.
∻ "Well Luther what are you going to do until your tail heals? I guess you can stay here seeing as how anyone else would freak out over having a fish boy in their house... But I have school to worry about so there would be some days that you'll be here alone." He said, giving Luther an apologetic smile." "Is there anything I can get you to make you more comfortable. Something to eat? Another blanket? A pair of pants?" He asked, snapping his eyes up to look at Luther's face. He refused to look any lower until he got the boy into at least a pair of boxers.≈∻≈∻≈ ...wouldn't you agree? [{(ⓞ•ⓞ•ⓒ• Did Luther just pull a Starfire? That's awesome! XD

Luther couldn't help but laugh a little. "No, I did not learn your language. Humans have a physical block in a certain part of their brain. That block makes it difficult or impossible to learn a new language, but if you remove it completely you can understand any language spoken to you. I don't remember much from my classes, it's more complicated than that. Another person speaking a different language will still sound foreign to you until they remove the block for that language. Right now if someone else were to hear us talking, they would hear you speak in my native language." He tried to explain it to the best of his knowledge but he didn't stick around his classes for very long so he missed out on a lot of the lecture. Luther let the man collect himself for a few moments before he listened to the other speak. "I can't repair my tail by myself...I've heard of my father being able to repair tails with the magic he stores in his trident but...I've never actually seen it." he said in a depressed tone, he wished he could return to his home but with his tail being mangled as it was, there was no way he could swim properly. "What are 'pants'?"

David Marlet The sea is such a mysterious place... ≈∻≈∻≈ ∻ "So you unblocked my language barrier? That's... Kind of cool I guess. But it doesn't really make any sense. Can I speak other languages other then my own and yours? Or is it only limited to your language? And what is your language because you rejected Latin... Or was it that I wasn't very good at speaking Latin that you rejected." He asked curiously, laying his left cheek on the mattress. I can speak Merfolk. That's cool but now what? I can't have a conversation with him in public without people looking at us weirdly... Though I suppose any conversation we could have is best not understood. He thought watching as Luther's mood got darker. "Maybe I can help you find your father. We could rent some diving equipment and a boat and head out to sea. It can't be that hard to find him right?" He asked trying to instill some hope back into the boy.
∻ "Pants? Their um, Their like covers for your legs and genital area. See?" He said standing up and tugged on the loose material on his thigh. "It's frowned upon to walk around without pants on. Here let me see if I can find an old pair of my jeans from before I went through my growth spurts." He said going over to his wardrobe and opening up the top drawer. He came up with a pair of jeans a few moments later before walking over to the bed. "Here the zipper and the button go in the front, and you put a leg through each sleeve. I'll turn around while you put them on." He said laying the pants on the foot of the bed before turning away from the boy. "Tell me when you're done."≈∻≈∻≈ ...wouldn't you agree? [{(ⓞ•ⓞ•ⓒ• )}]

Luther swung his legs off the bed and didn't bother trying to stand until he had the pants on almost all the way. It seemed simple enough to dress himself in this form but he still didn't like it. He felt much more restrained in his own skin. "Thank you." he said softly as he was finished with the pants. "I'm finished." he said, sitting back onto the bed since he was still wobbly on these foreign appendages. "Yes I speak Latin. Your dialect was completely wrong, and you didn't make sense in the least. It would have been difficult to communicate." Luther was glad this human wanted to help him but there was no use. "You have never heard of my kind being seen have you? We're only a story for you humans." he gave a soft sigh and adjusted himself on the bed a little bit. "We live in the deepest oceans. Your kind can't dive very deep into our ocean. It wouldn't work.......The only thing I can do is tell my father where I am and that I'm okay but I'm worried about the consequences upon the humans."

David Marlet The sea is such a mysterious place... ≈∻≈∻≈ ∻ "No problem..." David replied akwardly, watching as the boy sat back down on the wet bed. He was relieved that he now didn't have to worry about seeing the other's intimate parts but Luthar did look uncomfortable in them which only made David himself comfortable. Ack! How am I supposed to make a guest comfortable when clothing makes them feel uncomfortable? she wondered, blinking in surprise when he other began toing once more. "Eh heh. Sorry about that. I atleast tried to communicate though so cut me some slack. That was high school level Latin you can't expect much." He chuckled quietly, rubbing the back of his neck nervously.
∻ "Hmm. I guess you're right. But there has to be some way to get you home. I mean you got up here didn't you? Oh wait you swam that's right..." Darn this is going to be hard... He can't stay here because this isn't his home. I'm sure he would rather be at home then in a strangers apartment... Geez why do I get myself into these situations. He wondered, letting out a defeated sigh. "Wait repeat that! What kind of consequences are we talking about here because I'm pretty sure it was a human who did this to you... It wasn't a human that did this to you was it?" He asked nervously, a small frown splitting his features.≈∻≈∻≈ ...wouldn't you agree? Luther was a little confused about what a 'high school' would be but whatever it was they didn't teach Latin very well. Someone should look into that but he wouldn't even know where to begin to start. A thought for another time perhaps. He watched the cogs turning in the human's mind, figuring out a solution to help him out but as he suspected there was nothing the human could do at the moment. However, he had hoped the human wouldn't pick up on the consequences but of course he was wrong. Luther hung his head and sighed. "My father is Poseidon. To you humans he is considered a God and for good reason. He's almost as strong as a God and has lived many hundreds of years. If he thinks the humans have captured me he will unleash his power onto the land." he said softly, but the human's next question made him blush a little. "No....humans didn't do this to me. It was those damn sharks." he grumbled softly.

David Marlet The sea is such a mysterious place... ≈∻≈∻≈ ∻ "Poseidon is your father... As in the King of the Sea? I have the son of Poseidon sitting on my bed right now telling me that his father is probably going to wreak havoc on the Humans for taking his son... This, this is not good. I think I need to sit down." David murmured quietly, flopping down onto the bed where he held his head between his hands. "You know anyone else would think you were a loony and would of kicked you out by now... But your tail is proof enough for me. I know your telling the truth and if there is anything I can help get you so that you can contact your father like you said just tell me. I would hate for your father to have to worry anymore about you. He is probably worried sick by now right?" He asked calmly, genuinely concerned about the other. He knew that if Poseidon got mad there was nothing he could do to stop him so he would just have to accept his very likely fate.
∻ "You were attacked by Sharks? Well that would explain the chunks missing out of your tail but why did they attack you? Were they frightened by something and didn't realise who they were attacking? I can't imagine that a sea creature would willingly attack the Prince of the Sea... That is your proper title right? Or am I wrong? If I am please feel free to correct me." He said calmly, bringing his head up to look back at Luther. He couldn't even imagine what was going on through the other's mind at this moment. It must be horrifying to know that you are stuck in a world that is not your own. I really hope he can get home safely. I can imagine that he wouldn't wantbtonspend the rest of his life here... Ok I'm starting to see where I might be a little to nice of a person now. He thought sighing defeatedly as he fell backwards onto the mattress, his head landing an inch or two away from Luther's jean clad talk2hand leg.≈∻≈∻≈ ...wouldn't you agree? [{(ⓞ•ⓞ•ⓒ• )}]

Luther couldn't help but give a soft laugh at the human's reaction to what he just said, it wasn't unusual for others to feel a little light headed at seeing him in their home. Luther's smile quickly faded at the mention of his father's emotions to him going missing. "Actually right now he's probably mad. He won't start getting concerned for a while I imagine." he said softly, listening to the human ramble on mindlessly and wondering if the man ever heard himself when he spoke. Maybe if he did he would babble like this but at least the human got to the point rather quickly. "Yes, my official title is Prince. The sharks attacked me because they can't seem to swallow a simple prank." he grumbled, standing up once more so as to exercise his new muscles, afraid if he stayed sitting down that he would lose the strength in his legs. Luther started looking around the place a little, thinking about all of the questions he was being asked and realizing that he hadn't asked the human anything. "What do you call this place?" he asked, walking to a wall and scrutinizing it before he tentatively touched it.

David Marlet The sea is such a mysterious place... ≈∻≈∻≈ ∻ David smiled when he heard the other laugh. He had to admit it was nice to have someone else with him for a change even if the circumstances were not the best. "So your dad is the 'Get Angry Then Wirry' type huh? That must get bothersome sometimes huh?" He asked calmly, watching as the other stood up out of the bed. "McAllen me out if I'm wrong here but I thought you weren't supposed to provoke predators in any way." He chuckled quietly, subconsciously bringing his hand up to where his right eye should of been, and used it to cover the cotton patch with his bangs. He watched as Luther looked around the room curiously, almost as if he were trying to figure out what everything was.
∻ "That's a wall... Oh wait the place we are in? This is my apartment. It's kind of like a house but smaller and there are a bunch of other apartments in this building all stacked up on top of each other. The room we are in currently is my bed room. You go out the door right there," she brought his other hand up to point at his bedroom door, "and you will enter a hallway that will take you to the bathroom if you go to the right or the living room if you go straight forward. You can take a look around if you like just ask me before you touch anything because I have a lot of breakable objects in the apartment." Luther didn't answer the human about the provoking the sharks as he was too busy trying to remember all of the words he was learning that referenced the house. "You talk too much...." he said softly, still unsure of the feeling of the walls around him, they seemed pretty unstable for a living environment. "For future reference, slow down on your explaining. I'm not from here and too much explanation is confusing." he said softly, looking toward the door but unsure if he wanted to venture further. He didn't know what was beyond the door, even though he was told what was on the other side, experiencing it would be a whole other matter. "An....ap..apartment? If they're all stacked on top of each other...won't they collapse? Especially with these flimsy walls, they're nothing like the coral reefs from home." The corals were alive and built strong to ward off large predators, these walls only appeared to keep humans inside.

David Marlet The sea is such a mysterious place... ≈∻≈∻≈ ∻ "Eh? Oh sorry I guess I do talk a lot. I guess I just don't like the quiet." David said calmly as he sat upright and stretched. "I'll try to take it a little slower from here on out, but I do get out if hand again just tell me to slow it down, I can only imagine how much this is to take in." He pushed off of the bed and walked over towards the other and tapped the wall gently. This wall isn't all that strong but the walls out in the living room are filled with concrete, that's like a strong mixture of sand, clay, rocks, and I guess when they are making it there is water involved to. This wall here is just plaster. Not as sturdy as concrete but it's still sturdy enough to be considered a wall. Don't worry this building isn't going anywhere, my father's architect and construction team know what they are doing." He said reassuringly, trying not to get to far ahead of himself. "If it makes you feel safe it's easier to break coral then it is to break the outer walls of this building... Not that I go around breaking coral that is!" He added quickly.
∻ "Here come with me and I'll show you around. You might be here a while and I won't be here all the time because of my classes. So you'll have to Atleast know what is safe to touch and what isn't. I can't have you injuring yourself while I'm gone now can I?" He chuckled quietly, remembering the unsure glance that the other had given the door earlier. "Come on I promise that nothing will attack you." He murmured reassuringly as he gently grabbed ahold of Luther's wrist and guided him towards the door. He was careful while guiding the other down the hallway and into the living room not wanting to trip the other up while Luther was still growing used to having legs. "This is a living room... Any questions?" He asked, a teasing smile playing across his lips while he gave the other a minute to take in the new room with had a lot more furniture and appliances in it.≈∻≈∻≈ ...wouldn't you agree? Luther, once again, didn't give a response to the long sentence that came from the human's mouth. He wasn't sure what an architect was but that would be a question for later he supposed. Luther saw David make his way to the door that lead out of the room and was skeptical about leaving the small bedroom. He was even more cautious when David grabbed his wrist and had half a mind to smack the hand away from him. Where he came from nobody touched the Prince unless they wanted a death sentence, but this wasn't his home and the humans had no clue about the laws of the sea. Luther hesitated for a few minutes but he decided to place a little more trust into his human, at least enough to see his own surroundings. Too preoccupied with the sights to really listen to David.
Their first stop was the living room and there were a number of things that seemed very peculiar to him and he actually enjoyed that David didn't go on and on about what each thing in the room was or how it worked. Luther made his way over to a lamp on a small table next to a very long object that looked quite soft to the eye. He started to feel the lamp and move the shade to find out what was inside but was still unsure what it was. Luther pushed a little button on the side and a bright light blinded him, causing him to drop the lamp back onto the table. "Does everything in your world hurt like that?" he grumbled, rubbing his eyes as he tried to regain his sight. "What do you call that thing?"

David Marlet The sea is such a mysterious place... ≈∻≈∻≈ ∻ David couldn't help the amused smile that spread across his lips as the other decided to investigate the lamp of all things. Be nice David he is legitimately curious. The thought only made his smile widen. He laughed quietly as the other momenta risky blinded himself with the lamp, the lamp on the other hand was fine as it bounced off of the table and landed on the love seat. "You shouldn't push random buttons if you don't know what they do." He scoured gently, walking over to grab the lamp and place back where it belonged on the side table. "This is a lamp. You push the button like so," He said pushing the button back in and turning off the lamp, "and the light will turn on or off. This is breakable if your not careful but I don't think you'll be any threat towards its existence." He said calmly, his smile never leaving. "And to answer your second question, no not everything is as painful as looking into a lamp, but if your not careful you might break some glass and cut yourself." He said looking for a glass object.
∻ He spotted his mother's Dolphin snow globe on the entertainment center and went over to grab it before bringing it back to Luther with the obgect held firmly in his hand. "Here." He said taking ahold of the other's right hand and placing the small snow globe in the Merman's hand. "Do you see the dome, or bubble of this object? It is made of glass, easily broken and it hurts when your cut by it. Try to avoid breaking anything that looks and feels like this, but if you do accidentally break any glass just step away from it and tell me so I can clean it up. Got it?" He asked patiently, letting the other examine the object while he himself made sure that Luther wasn't going to drop it. It would be a shame if his mother's favourite snow globe broke.≈∻≈∻≈ ...wouldn't you agree? [{(ⓞ•ⓞ•ⓒ• )}]
