[User ImageHorus sat at the top of the pyramid watching the tribe grounds from below. It was still relatively early in the day that the sun wasn’t soo bad. It often reminded him of when he had first come back to Kemet and everyone had ended up climbing the giant pyramid in which to talk to him. The tribe had come a long ways from those initial days. In fact Horus had gotten taller, gained a few more accessories had a new mate, found out he was actually bi. Seen several new kits come into the world, watched members become grandchildren and had watched some good friends leave. It was a nice tribe and Horus treasured each member, speaking of which the others had to be getting up. He should most likely get up and see what needed to be done.

Persephone had been up for hours already having made sure that her babies where fine and up and Rit had been given a good bye kiss. The last flood season had been slightly disastrous and it had flooded way more than predicted. She knew that atem occasionally gave them bad flood years as the river needed it to stay healthy but this was more than they had ever had before. They had lost some important medical herbs, which wasn’t so bad because Horus was tentatively allied with the elder of Yasashii but the area was needed for plants and for food. She was loathe to send the hunters and scouts further off kemet land where they would encounter deadlier predators.

User Image Himeko viewed her sister with mild interest, a frown touching her face as she turned away. Hollow wanted to leave, and Himeko didn't want to see her go. Sure, the years had caused a painful separation between the two, but... Hollow was still her sister, and she didn't want to see her go. But, Hollow wanted out. She was obviously unhappy, and as the days passed the woman kept slipping closer and closer to the edge. What if she left without telling anyone? What if she vanished before Himeko could hug her? How much would it sting?

She shook her head, focusing back on the view of the tribe, her children, and mate. They were beautiful. She couldn't remember ever being happier then now. She was content, and had a family, blood and not. Her children had produced children, and she could barely turn her head without seeing at least one person in her blood family.

Her tribe family was also special, and she found herself beaming with pride as she viewed them, too. They were her people. Her family. They were special, and she wouldn't trade them for anything else. Yet, she found her thoughts drifting back to her sister, eyes flicking to view the woman she once was so close to. So, with a nervous sigh, she approached, head dipping down.

"Hey, are you okay?" Worry touched her tone as she gazed at her sister, ears flicking back when she realized that the reaction she'd be given probably wouldn't be so kind. Hollow was rarely in the mood for dealing with her anymore.

User Image Himeko was right, Hollow wanted out. But, it wasn't for reasons her twin assumed. She didn't hate the people of Kemet. She didn't despise everyone. No. She just wanted out. She wanted to leave the heat, which she never was a fan of. She wanted to curl by Katsu's side, and not only once every few months. She was unhappy, and she had joined this tribe to please Himeko. Yet, her twin had forgotten her for some time and birthed a family the woman couldn't mimic. She had no children, and after years of wishing for them and a boyfriend she still didn't have a single kit to call her own. Himeko had a huge family, and while by blood Hollow was a part of it she didn't feel like she was.

Because it wasn't what she wanted.

She wanted her own kits. Her own grandkits. She wanted to stop this game of "please join Kemet" and "do you even want me around" with Katsu. Years. Years, and he still hadn't made a choice. She cared for him dearly, but.... she wanted more. More from him. She was loyal, and not about to leave him just because their relationship was odd, but she was also blunt. She wanted more from life and him, and Kemet was the stone standing in-between the changes she needed.

Her ear flicked up at the voice of a familiar woman, and she inwardly groaned. Why? They hadn't exchanged words in weeks, and now Himeko was playing the caretaker? Turning her head, yellow eyes narrowed towards Himeko. "It's interesting you decide to ask me now instead of years ago." She hissed lowly before moving away, padding off to find Horus, a male she seemed to get along with rather well these past years. He was her Elder, and had a personality she found calming to be around. Right now, she needed some calming.

Ion sighed and rolled her eyes. Right now there was a small little permakit that was currently attached to her tail ribbon and showed no signs of letting go. Iokaste was cute and it seemed like she so sweet and nice but there were times that she had the same amount of mischief as her sister Kore. Right now was one of those times. “um Iokaste.. I do need to get some work done. I need to do stock on the herbs we have left and find out which ones are the very lowest, then I need to work on cleaning the temples.” Ion wasn’t alone in her duties. Persephone had even more to deal with on her plate and of course having a family which included two ever hyper and loving permas made things a bit busy. Still it was kind of refreshing to have a little bundle of energy running around. Ion had to admit that Io and her sister did bring a smile to the faces of other tribe members and they were very cute. Someday she and Akori would have kits of their own. That thought made her blush and stumble.
User Image
Io let go of the silly dressed fox when she stumbled. Lightning mommy said it was not nice to trip the other members of the tribe and even if she was nowhere near the other foxes paws or anything like that she was sure that lightning mommy could find an explanation to scold her if the other fox fell. Something about balance and weight distri-something. Lightning mommy knew everything about everything and was super smart. Glitter mommy was calm and happy but always sent Io to ask lightning mommy things if she had questions since that meant that glitter mommy got to tag along and see lightning mommy for things. Io knew it was a game to bug lightning mommy randomly by glitter mommy. She kind of wanted to play that game now but glitter mommy was out right now so Io had to wait. The silly dressed fox was looking at her asking if she was ok and Io grinned up at her. “I’m good. I’m gonna find Kore and everyone else. Maybe Pherein will take me flying if I ask super nice.” The silly dressed fox nodded and walked off with a smile while Io plotted the best most annoying way to ask so that Pherein would say yes just to make Io stop asking.

Rynn was dragging a basket of food toward the temple that her elder was currently on. At least she was pretty sure that color speck was him. She didn’t really look too closely or care at the moment. She had a job to do and she could get around to conversations later. Her bracelets jingled as she pushed her paws in the sand dragging the basket about. The basket was making a pretty deep gouge in the sand meaning she was dragging a heap of sand with her. She was so focused on her tasks that went the basket lifted up from the other side releasing the pressure from the sand she let go and tumbled backwards. Spitting up sand she was looking to give a lecture that would make even Robin Hood cringe when she noticed the basket was now being dragged past her toward the temple by one of Persephone’s kids. Pluto or Hades. She could never really remember which was which but she knew both boys were very polite and well mannered. She knew he only was helping but really he could have said something first. “Hey you feathers and few brains, you don’t just pick up half of something and start dragging without warning.” It was said with a growl but it clearly wasn’t serious. She watched as he grinned at her from around the basket he was dragging. She moved forward and grabbed the other half so she could help him get it to the temple faster.
User Image
Pluto just kept helping Rynn drag the basket without saying anything at all. His mother had seen him before she took off for the day and now Pluto was just out and about to help out where he could. The basket Rynn was dragging was about the same size she was so he figured she could use a hand, though she tended to yell when others bugged her he knew by now that it was all a front. She was really a nice vixen and even snuck him and all the other kits treats here and there, or at least pretended not to see when they messed up parts of the fields when she would chew any adult to the bone for the same offense. Now that he wasn’t a kit anymore he seemed to get yelled at by her more often but it was never mean yelling. Maybe it’s because she had seen him grow up in the tribe. The permas could get away with murder around Rynn and they all knew it. He only ever grinned and ignored the words now when the orange vixen yelled. He was taught to be polite that way by his mother who suggested it was a safe way to deal with her and not get in trouble.

User Image
Ritilanishia looked back behind her and sighed. Pro had disappeared again. She would have to have a talk with Persephone over what could be done with their daughter. It wasn’t that Prosperina was a bad girl, just that she needed to find a place in the tribe where she could do something constructive with herself. Right now Rit worried about Pro having to much time on her paws and becoming too complacent. It was easy to think that Pro would do well cleaning the temples with hatred of dust, but if the girl so much as saw a cobweb she would scream and run away. She wasn’t good at hunting hating the mess of blood and even following Rit out on scouting ventures led to the young phim disappearing frequently making Rit circle back only to find that she had landed for a bath or something along those lines. It was frustrating to Rit but she did her best not to get mad since Pro’s personality was nothing new and Rit knew the confines of being forced into a position she didn’t’ want only too well. Widening her cirle she tried to figure out how far back Pro was this time when she dropped out for grooming.
User Image
Oh my gosh, her hair was a mess now. Making a small whining noise Prosperina rubbed her paws together to get some of the sand off and then tried to take the tangle out ofher hair. That was the one bad thing about flying she was stuck with the horror of tangles and nightmare of sand. The flying was fun but the aftermath was a horror that no one else seemed to get. Hades she had to go and find Hades. He could get tangles out like no one’s business and he always knew just how to pull to prevent pain. Kore would be a good second choice but the perma wasn’t quite as skilled as Hades and always wanted to toss in extras. She hated doing rounds with her mother and just wanted to head home now. Groaning she sniffled and could just feel the sand in her coat. She needed a bath as soon as possible.

User ImageFyra was slightly saddened by the fact her kits had gone out in the world, but she was almost certain her son would be back. Lanaki had seemed the type to stick close to home. Now she, one of the few carers to the tribe, waited to see if there would be more kits. While a hassle to keep them under control, it was fun to see some of their faces light up. That was the joy.

The floods seemed to be over and it was a sure fire bet that they would be doing some work around here. Sighing, she began trotting back towards the others, bringing some meat and herbs that had been found.

User ImageHe ran up, knowing that she didn't see him yet. How would his mother handle the fact that he of all foxes had a child? Speaking of the child, he looked at the BCR on his paw. So far she looked good. "Mother!!!" Okay, maybe he shouldn't of yelled it considering all the other females around who may or may not be mothers of a regular fox. Lanaki skidded to a stop, keeping his girl safe. "I have a surprise for you."

He held up his paw, allowing his mother to see Teliku. It was the least he could do, and he was sure she would be happy. He was also proud to be a daddy, though it did come unexpectedly. "Should I go to Horus and tell him?" He wasn't sure about how that would work. Things just seemed different with the changes.

Sharrkan stood on one of the the many sand dunes that were scattered throughout the tribe lands. He stood overlooking the tribe not too far in front of him. He had been observing them for a wile now and found them entertaining and interesting. Ever sense he set out on his own he had been looking for a place he could stay and now he just might have found it. He was use to living in the harsh weather and actually found it enjoyable. So to find a tribe out here was great luck. Smiling he made his way down the dune and wondered straight into the tribe.

(Sorry about the lame start XD I really didn't know what to do with him)

User ImageHades finally opened his eyes as a rather annoying beam of sunshine landed on his nose. Considering the heat it was well past getting up. But then Hades never was a morning fox, it was a rather common trait in the hibari line and he wasn’t entirely sure how his mom kept getting up day after day before sun rise. Perhaps he could ask her. However now he had to get ready for the day because it was only a matter of time before one of his siblings showed up and asked for their hair to be done. Probably one of his sisters, as Proserpina hated being dirty and needed hers fixed a lot, and Pheirin helped with whatever task she could so she often liked it pulled back so that it didn’t get in the way of whatever she was doing.
Then he should probably go and see if one of the shamans needed help. The flood had destroyed a few supplies and while they were still well off you never knew when medicine was going to be needed.

Seeing as life started up in the tribe Horus sat up from his spot and started walking down the pyramid. While he liked sitting up on the pyramid and climbing the steps early in the morning some of his tribe members weren’t exactly morning foxes and he didn’t expect them to climb up here. It was from this vantage point that he noticed some one new entering in the tribe. Well he supposed as the elder, and the only one really up he should go and check what brought them to Kemet. In the beginning Horus would have said it was a new tribe member but Atem and Osiris hadn’t sent any one new in a while. Once in a while there was a fox that just came across Kemet and wanted to stay. Still no matter why the stranger was here Horus needed to figure out his intentions.

Io was all set and ready to go find Pherin when she noticed the purple kit care fox just walking about. That would be the fox to ask about Pherin. "Hey, hey! Freya where is Pherin I really wanta have her take me flying, but I don't know where she is and I'm so bored..." A groan escaped the permakit as she flopped to the side and pretended to look dead of boredom. Unless.... Peeking at Freya she smiled hopefully. "Freya do you know a game we could play instead?" It wasn't garented since a lot oft being adult foxes where always busy with something to to but maybe Freya was free to play just for a little while? Io sure hopped so she wanted something to do and badly.

Ion was heading to the temple making her list in her head. There was always so much to do and make note of. A small flash of white caught her eye so she turned her head. It was a fox she didn't recognize. She looked around for a moment to see if anyone had thought to tell Horus, but she noticed that the elder was already on the way over to the fox. Smiling Ion continued on her way to the temple she saw Pluto and Rynn up ahead dragging a basket of food.

Pluto having noticed white as well had stopped dead in his tracks not used to really seeing outsides in the heart of the tribe. He heard a curse from Rynn as the basket's weight was all on her again. "Hey Rynn look a new fox." He pointed and looked at Rynn's face. It said it wasn't impressed at all. "Should we head over and say hello?" It only seemed like the ice thing to do, and more so it was a new fox here in the heart of the tribe who seemed to come without an escort of all things. The poor guy had to be very very lost.

"No what we should do is get all this food into the temple before it fills up with so much sand that you might a well lick the outside of the temple. " sheesh Rynn did not want to go see the new fox, she remembered being new to the land oh so long ago herself and it was a bit daunting with so many other tribe members around, not only that, but the tribe had grown huge since then and there would doubtless be every other fox in the tribe out to stare at the poor boy so giving him some space would be best especially if it was on.y a traveler and not a new tribe member. Rynn only checked that hous was on his way once she saw that she grumbled at Pluto to get back to helping h haul.

Rit and pros later

Sharrkan continued on his way through the area grinning happily. He had never seen so many great things all in one area before. And the foxes! All the foxes! There were so many of them. He could see them all wondering around or tending to their jobs or whatever it was the tribe foxes did. A few of them seemed to notice him. Some even stopped what they were doing to look his way. Who couldn't blame them. He was probably pretty unique looking to them, with his white hair and clothing. Of course that was fine with him. He liked the fact that he turned heads, and why shouldn't he? He was good looking and his skills far surpassed those of the previous foxes he traveled with. Not to mention he was also skilled with the sword that hung from his hip.

Glancing around, he spotted one of the giant pyramids that towered in front of him. He had heard stories of them and what they looked like but he had never seen one. Now here he was, standing in front of one. He had to admit. It was pretty amazing. It was then that he noticed a fox that was much bigger then the others, or seemed to be so... heading his way. He was black with with strange red and green markings. By the looks of it... it was obvious he was the elder. Smiling and full of determination, Sharrkan approached the fox with out any fear or at all worried about the fact that he had just wondered into the tribe with out any kind of say so.

"Hey." He smiled brightly as he addressed the elder. "This is a pretty amazing place you have here." With that he took another look around, admiring the lands. He looked back at the elder. "I've been watching you guys for a wile now, and this looks like a great place to settle down." His eyes closed in a grinning smile. "So i'm going to join you. The names Sharrkan. Don't let my good looks fool you. I've got quite the reputation and you wont find another fox with skills better then mine." He started with out even waiting for an answer. "So... where do I sign up?" He continued with his natural smile.

Rit winged her way over the sandy dunes scanning for her errant daughter thinking of how to deal with the situation. It wasn’t like she had kits before the twins and her litter with Persephone. Spying something below she altered her coarse to find Archer, Wren and a strange vixen in tow. Flying over them she called out a greeting and tried to find a spot to land and not kick up a mini sand storm over the trio. Landing she moved toward them. “Hail Archer, Wren.” She nodded to the stranger as well but didn’t know a name to call the vixen by.
User Image

Archer smiled to Rit and nodded in greeting. “Hello there. How is the tribe?” He was really curious about his mother but he didn’t want to make Sasha nervous. She was already really disliking the sand and heat. He might have to sneak her into the tribe and avoid his mother if Rynn was in a bad mood. Seeing how Rit smiled he thought perhaps he stood a chance. She seemed clam but there was something bothering her. Where they holding her back from something. “Hey Rit is something wrong?” He looked over his sister and Sasha quickly. They seemed alright but it was clear Shasa would need to be to the tribe soon.
User Image
Something wrong? Really even Wren could see something was off with the phim. Rolling her eyes she went back to pestering Sasha so Rit could talk to her brother in a bit of peace. “Anyway like I was saying yeah its stupid hot right now but it’ll be better in the temple. Hey hey over here.” She waved a paw in front of Sasha for like the millionth time. The poor girl would just have to get used to the heat. “Geeze we gotta hurry up and get you to the temple or you’ll just be a fox puddle. “Arch hey drop the chat and lets go your girlfriend is dying here.”
User Image
Sasha rolled her eyes. She was not dying, not even close. She was just far too warm and needed a break. Taking a breath she flipped her hair. “I’m fine, just in danger of sweating to death a few more hours from now. I can make it to the tribe no problem.” She grinned at Archer not willing to admit how hard it was to move with all the sand in her clothes and just how grimy she felt. Right now she would kill for a bath. Well maybe not kill but she did want to get clean and then sleep for about half a day.

Pros was well more than half way home now. She would find Pluto to help her. First stop the temples to scout out and find her brother. Determined she flew as quick as she could. The sooner Pluto could set it all to rights then the sooner she could just head home and hide from the horrid tasks her mother’s had for her that would make her dirty and a mess of tangles.. again.

Sasha was finally on her way back to her birthplace, her home, her parents and siblings and all of the other members of Kemet. She had been gone for years trying to discover herself and to come to terms that she wasn’t like her mother and didn’t like males but liked females instead. At the time she had been afraid that she would be shunned and rejected for what she had liked. But now she wasn’t as afraid of what others would think anymore. She had gained some confidence while away and a bit more than that. Her family was going to be shocked for one because she was coming home and for two what she was bringing home with her. Kemet was about to get bigger and she hoped Elder Horus didn’t mind and prayed that somebody didn’t end up being feed to some crocodiles. She knew where she was going and didn’t have any fear as her paws left the solid dirt and started their travel a crossed the sand. Home here I come she thought.

User Image

The much lighter colored male followed after the small hat wearing vixen. One would think it is strange for a male to follow around a vixen unless they were mates which they weren’t but no one would know that by looking at the pair. Heck no one would know the truth even if they stood right next to each other. But the small little vixen in front of the white male was actually one of his mothers. No one would be able to tell by looking at him but that was because Sosuke took after his other mother more in coloring then he did his mother Sasha. He didn’t mind this at all for he knew that he was loved equally by both of his mothers it was just that Sasha was one to show it more. His mother Asche showed it but in a different way but all was fine to him. They and informed him and his sister that they were to be moving. Well more like Sasha had and simple shrugged and went along with it doing whatever it was that her mate wanted to do. As their offspring he and his sister were going along with them. He knew of some basics that his mother had told him and some things to expect but even being told this didn’t fully prepare him for what he was stepping into. For he had no clue how the next hours were going to turn and the sun was still very high in the sky.

Following her brother and mother the tan vixen helped to show some resemblance between the two though it was still hard to really identify them as a family unless one took her other mother into account. Glancing up her brown red hair fell in front of her eyes. Simply blowing it aside as best she could without stopping Serenity wondered what this trip was really going to be like. One mother seemed semi excited and yet a tad nervous and the other, well she was as despondent as normal. Sometimes Serenity didn’t really understand how her flying mother could function always being so withdrawn from things yet making sure to kiss or nuzzle her mate randomly as such things were apparently expected. She just didn’t understand that all the time but should she ever find her own mate she supposed it would be clear. If not she could ask Sasha to explain it. She doubted Asche would really give an explanation she could comprehend. Realizing she was falling behind Serenity twitched her tail and then picked up the pace to catch up to her brother and mother.

User Image

Her light coat protected her from the heat far better than she would have assumed and the winds were not overly warm since far in the sky she was much cooler than on the sweltering sand. Lazily she circled back over her family and mate below. She was up here both to stay cool as well as keep an eye on the surrounding terrain. Her mate seemed quite confident they were going in the right direction and Asche had no information to naysay such a thing, however she did want to memorize what this place she was going to be living in was like. So far it seemed a vast pile of shifting sands with small little dots of green that turned out to be called oasis. They were perhaps the only safe thing out here and even the water held possible danger of attacking creatures. Asche didn’t really have any fear of such things due to the common sense nature of staying safe as well as the fact her mate was familiar with this land. It simply meant that she listened to her mate’s advice on matters and made certain to remember them for future use. Peering down she kept track of the children’s progress following right along behind Sasha. Sosuke was easy to spot with his light fur but Serenity nearly blended as well as her mother.

So life happened
And the tribe and modifoxes went kinda quiet. However everyone is back in some form and I’ve slightly prettied up and reworded some of the lore. Plus a ton of new foxes joined the tribe since the last time I was extremely active.
thus we’re jumping ahead a little bit and as a way for everyone to meet and reconnect again and considering the date. I decided to do the feast of anket. The Iteru flooded so, lots of partying and talking with ancestors and future gardening ahoy.

Horus vaguely remembered in his youth when the tribe had been flourishing and rather large. Mostly of those days, he remembered the chaos and the sand invading, swallowing up others as a modeity vented his rage. To him, he still remembered getting the call to start the tribe, gathering those small few. A good chunk of them had left over the years, including his mate at the time. Still time gave away to families, and then their families. Every time he looked the tribe was bigger. He was truly overwhelmed at times. Often Persephone and kaname mentioned he should bring on a Beta. However beta normally meant child, and there was only one Fox he wanted to have children with. Still now days bcr’s didn’t mean intimacy and he toyed with the idea of maybe asking his deity to add in a good word with the modeity of fertility. With his luck though, and considering what modeity ascended him, maybe he was just doomed to hand betaship to eirene and her children.

Horus…. Horus…”

Mmm that was queue to get his head away from his thoughts and go be elder. Wondering what needed his attention, he walked out of his living space and out to where he could see the tribe proper. Cheering was spreading through a good chunk of his tribe members. It was obvious to see the cause as he walked out into the light. The Iteru had finally flooded. It had been a little bit late this year, but finally it was time for celebration, dancing and honoring… well honoring family. He would have to check in with his priests and scribes to see everything they had planned. Plus it would be good to have everyone get familiar with all the new additions and to check on some of his foxies who weren’t doing the best in the mental health department.

Well by now we don’t need me to announce it but due to tradition, let the Feast of Anket begin.” Horus spoke up. It may be partying for the others, but being the elder was a never ending job. Time to go be social.

Isaiah was... so nervous. He was very new to this tribe, didn't really know anyone yet, and was still learning some of the customs and traditions. Isaiah was still just settling in, but now there was a giant celebration and feast starting, and he was starting to feel a little culture-shock. Isaiah grew up with his mother on the Kousetsu Tribe lands. They lived in a land of scarcity, and while they always technically got by alright, the idea of feasting was pretty foreign to him. Even in their most successful times, and the happiest celebrations, having this much food around wasn't necessarily a part of it. Isaiah also could have joined his father in the Yasashii tribe, but... well, frankly, the healing and life-saving work that members of the Yasashii tribe dedicated themselves to either called to you, or it didn't. Kemet, however, fascinated him. The tribe reminded him of Kousetsu in some ways, living in a desert where time and weather and the Modeity Seth could be cruel. Yet the tribe trusts that the river will flood again, as it is now. This reverence for balance really resonated with Isaiah.

But he still didn't know how to party.
