The news was only confirming his previous thoughts. By Titan's accounts, Obsidian was diving into the dark habit of starseed digestion, which could explain why he didn't have to go out of the Rift much. He could store the starseeds as a source of energy, which meant Wolframite had to wonder how many people he was killing if he was relying on them to keep himself going. It could also explain a loss of weight. It was energy, not food. It wasn't even energy meant for a person.

Fists clenching, he continued to listen, and frowned more and more at what he was hearing. It was horrible to think that Obsidian had let himself get to this state, but hiding in the Rift was a good tactic to keep himself from being noticed easily. If Titan hadn't come to him, he would have never known - and then what? What would have happened to Obsidian if his habits had continued? Would it be like Tanzanite again?

He took a breath.

"Being hard on your team is necessary in this line of work. Different Generals have different tactics. I follow the same page in that I would rather make an officer aware of the dangers that come with risking their life and improving on it."

"BUT..." He corrected. "...there is a line. There is a breaking point. There is training hard, and then there is the point were even a lieutenant can't heal. There isn't a need to cripple a member of our collective team too early in the game before their bodies can handle it and risk them not being able to use their weapons. There are things even we can't heal." He did not care to gesture at his eyepatch, or the burn scar on his neck. "I want you to come to me if Obsidian gets too out of hand. I know you are loyal and you mentioned he frowns against it, but this is also to keep him in check and aware of how far he can go. You are not a General. Not yet. You have your limits just as much as he does."

He hoped Titan would understand that, if he did become hurt to an extreme, to not fear Obsidian and any backlash from the General and to come to Wolframite. Hopefully helping Obsidian now would help curb those tendencies.

"The ...behavior you mentioned. If he's eating starseeds, part of it could be from that. Starseeds are not meant to be disgested often. They are a VERY valuable resource, and not candies. If he's eating them often, then he's also creating a bad public image for the Negaverse, which is something we are working against. Those starseeds are also resources to be used for emergencies and for helping our cause. Worse yet, eating them could be why he's loosing weight and staying in the Rift so long. If he's taking pleasure in it, then...."

He looked away a moment. It was terrible to be having to address this issue with an officer who should know better than Wolframite about the dangers. "He could turn into a youma, and he could be lost." There was no turning back at that point. He saw the toll it took on Tanzanite.

"Staying in the Rift with youma probably isn't helping his senses any either." He needed to get out of here.

"You are right in feeling that he had to be addressed. He needed help." He just had to think of a way to go about it.

Turning, he started to walk. Not far, but just enough to help him think. "First off, he needs out of the Rift. Just to start. Then we can see about him staying out. See what's keeping him from staying as a civilian and at home." Wherever his home was. Sadly, the Negaverse did not have a on staff counselor.

Turning, he looked to Titan, walking back towards his direction. "Maybe to start, we can do a mission. If he likes starseeds, maybe he would be inclined to have help getting some, or even to help train you. If he left the Rift to see you, maybe he'd be more willing to help you outside of the Rift. Training here is well and good, but training on the field is better. There is only so much you can learn here. As a General, maybe we can appeal to him training you outside of here as a lure to bring him out."

Titan listened carefully to the small General's explanations, and he couldn't really come up with any counterpoints (not that he liked to, was good at it or even desired to). It was nice to know that if something was very, very wrong, there was someone he could go to, who was willing to at least hear the problem, that it wasn't going to be the biggest faux pax even approaching them- Approaching the General King of SpecOps just seemed like asking to demoted for wasting time. What was a demotion from Lieutenant? They always called people 'private' in movies, but he'd honestly never met a private blah-blah-ite. Just civilians and youma. He didn't remember anything about any lower ranks from basic training either. It was beside the point, though, and not something to bother Wolframite with since it didn't related to the current conversation.

In which the General was being both amazing generous and super wonderful. Titan gave an emphatic nod, "Training is something he has never grudged. A live operation is a good idea- the senshi are more visible now with the skies going autumn grey and there are no flowers or leaves to hide them like there were. He wanted to ask if Wolframite was very certain he had or wanted to spend the extra time, but it seemed rude and unnecessary- he wouldn't have offered if he'd thought otherwise, right?

"The General is most kind. If you had a ring, I would offer it my gratitude, but ...I'm afraid words must do. " He nod-bowed respectfully. "Should I suggest something of the sort and then bring you word? Or something else?"

"You're concerned about visibility?" Wolframite looked over at him, before crossing his arms. "You should be relying a bit more on your sense of Order auras. That could be another part of your outside training when we go outside. I don't think Obsidian would have addressed that if you were kept here for training all this time, unless you DO go outside more often than he does, in which case, don't rely on sight. The senshi have magic and tricks to the eyes. They can also blind you. Rely on their signature, and learn how to differeniate which one is stronger in rank to another." He said, a bit miffed that Titan didn't know this, but more in thinking that Obsidian might be to blame if he was taking charge of Titan's training.

"A ring?" Wolframite laid a hand at his chest, both alarmed and confused. How did you show gratitude to a ring? For a man like Wolframite, who could only think of rings for one use, he felt a bit warm under the collar. It didn't help that Titan was, well, very fit to say the least about his features.

Dear god. I have to make sure Bismuthite doesn't kill him if he gets the wrong ideas.

"I don't know what you mean, but you don't have to thank me. This is part of my responsibilities, and ...I would think that as a team, we should all make sure we are thriving to the best of our ability."

He dropped the hand at his chest, away from the spot where he could feel the ring, attached by a chain, that hung under his uniform from around his neck.

"Yes. Tell Obsidian you need on the field training. To apply what you learned in the Rift to real life situations. You can use your crystal and send me word about what happens, as well as anything else you have concerns about in the future. Also, if he seems like he is going to deny you this, try your best to convince him otherwise without making him suspicious or angry at you. There is no point in you being harmed over this. I don't know how far gone Obsidian is with his starseed habit after all, and the side effects would rob him of his senses. Do you understand, Lieutenant?"

"Oh, I have been in battles, sir, and I can sense their auras. But it is not so precise once they are very close? It is good for when they are near, but then it is like 'which direction'? But I will practice harder, as you say. Maybe it gets better than just 'Northish' or 'Eastish', ja?" The last affirmative was emphatic, more agreement than actual questions.

"Yes, a ring, of station. It was proper to take the hand and kiss the ring in homage and thanks. " These poor nobles, they aren't taught or aware of all that they are due. They deserve much more. Maybe he does not have a drott or a Marshall as he should. "Who rows together rows best."

"I understand, sir. " Titan wasn't sure how he was going to resolve a conflict of direct orders against oath loyalties, but ideally it would never become a problem. It could be a worry for later, when there wasn't an adorable general giving such orders. "Is there a time better to report to you? I'm up all hours, and wouldn't want to disturb what rest you can find."

Titan, you are giving my poor General dilemmas over your strange ideas. Poor boy is going to feel like he's a cheater over just thinking about hand kisses.

A kiss....on the hand. He glanced at his own hand, thinking of a ring. It wasn't even an idea that Titan had started fresh in his mind today. It was...something he was debating for some time, but not to the Lieutenant. Still, the idea of someone bending down to kiss his ring made even his adolescent ideas run wild, and he was suddenly embarrassed about his own thoughts, and even moreso that he was having them, no matter how innocent a kiss to the hand was, about someone else.

"Ah, that won't...you shouldn't. N-Not with me." He said, looking away and keeping his hands clenched, un-kissable, at his sides. He didn't want to feel as if he was doing some injustice against Bismuthite, despite how small a infraction it was. It was just - appealing. He had always viewed the Negaverse as something ancient, and was proven this with history lessons and the revelation of the Rift. Despite the ranks, despite the military set-up, here, in the Rift, there was no mistaking the past it was built upon. He often imagined if there were ballrooms or cathedrals somewhere in the Rift, and wondered about exploring more deeply sometime. It was why that, when the idea of someone bending down to kiss his hand crept in, it had that fantasy appeal that even made him fluttery.

He sidestepped only to be a bit closer to the dark and hopefully less notably pink, and cleared his throat. He wished that all the water in the Rift wasn't horribly acidic or poisonous - aside from the ale, which was just overpowering. Water would have been nice about now.

"You can call me any time. I'm a light sleeper, and I usually patrol at night. I get sleep when I can get it, so I don't have a set schedule." He knew that wasn't helpful, but sleep was always a hard thing for him to steady. If he wasn't patrolling, he was waiting on Billy to come home, or else he would wake up at night, in a panic about fire and chains. Even after all this time, nightmares were still at home with him.

"I guess....night is best to contact me." He adjusted his sash. "I sleep a bit more during the day." Which was something he was trying to stop, but the sunlight always made him feel safe when he was Ladon.

He turned, and was about to move to the entrance, before he stopped and turned. "Is there anything else you need or wish to ask, Lieutenant?"

At first it was just confusing that the little general was stammering and being so poignant about making his hands unavailable. Thankfully, Titan had enough experience now to see through that particular brick wall after just a few dumb moments. Wolframite was embarrassed because he must very much like the idea! Just maybe not with Titan himself-perfectly reasonable all things considered.

But it was still cute to see, and Titan couldn't actually help from smiling warmly at his small superior. He bowed, slowly, and held it a moment, "I have offended you. You have my apology and word I will not kiss your hand, even if you wore ring of station. "

He was sad to lose the General's company, a meeting mostly all business, but they did have more of the same to attend to according with their stations. He didn't want to risk embarassing Wolframite further- it could earn dislike instead of just what...maaay be a blush? It was difficult to say in the odd light of the Rift. "No, sir. Nothing else. "

"Thank you, sir."

Plainly butler/phantomhive cosplay is something Bismuthite should be looking into =3

Thank you so much for the rp! This probably works as a close for Titan's end.

Clearly. Even more incentive for that ring.
Thanks for the rp. I had a blast. Looking forward to the next one.

He nodded, turned, and went to the entrance. "Then I await your report. It was nice meeting you, Lieutenant Titanite." He said, and turning to make sure he regarded the jump properly else he slip, he jumped off to the crystal steps that jutted about, and left Titan to his business.
