Carmen looked up when Yi suddenly reappeared. "What? You just said before you left that I should wait for you to come back? Now, you're asking why I didn't? You're just too silly today." Though while she said all that, her eyes looked at him a little more closely when she caught his wink. Oh ho! Well isn't someone suddenly coming out of his shell!
She then watched his little exchange with Soal. She didn't say anything at the moment, but she observed him closely enough. When he had poofed off again, she smiled at Soal. She smiled when he agreed that he was all for her little idea of traveling together. "Excellent. You said you're in town a few more days right? That's plenty of us to roam the town and see some stuff. Eat some stuff. Then, we can go on with you. Safety always increases with more numbers. That'll make six of us if we include Felix and Akiko's new bird."
Carmen started to light up becoming even more animated thinking about all of them traveling in a small big group together. It felt adventurous, and she loved that. When he asked about Yi, she looked at the direction he had fled. "Well, interestingly enough, he isn't usually that excitable. He just must be feeling keyed up a bit over being in town. Maybe it's his first time here too."
She stood there watching the way he had gone. She curtsied and smiled at Soal. "Well, sir. It was fancy meeting you, but I need to go have me a nice bath; that I might smell fantastic and look radiant as I prefer to. Our trip here left me a little lackluster than my coat normally is."
She then went upstairs to go see about the soak. She stopped at the door to peek in. She looked around to see if Yi was there. He sure was behaving rather peculiarly tonight. Why was that?

Yi looked at the soaps as he sat on the bed in the room.
He picked up the cake of wrapped soap that was for Carmen and slightly felt warm as he thought of her smelling of that fragrance.
He turned as he heard the door squeak and saw Carmen there.
He smiled, then, remembering the soap handed out to her the little package. "Here you go." he said blushing more, "Thought you would like some fragranced soap with your bath." He then rubbed the back of his head with his other hand and said, "Not that you smell... just thought you would like it."
God he felt stupid for that last part.--------------------------------------------------------- Akiko, feeling weary from her trek across town, let herself into the inn and found the new Kyresue standing there alone.
She smiled at him and said, "Hello. Sorry to have run out after meeting you." she shifted the sling with the Ka'eo in it and put out her hand in greeting, "My name is Akiko, I am Yi's sister." she then looked searchingly at him, "My brother wasn't rude and didn't introduce himself did he?"

Soal mulled over the thought of heading back to his room. With a shake of his head he started to turn, thinking of taking another walk around town, not quite ready to retire after meeting such energetic new companions. He smiled warmly as he noticed the last member of Carmen's little travelling troupe. He reached out to shake her hand, admiring the sharp contrast of her markings in her coat. "Its quite alright. I'm Soal, its a pleasure to meet you Miss Akiko." He fell silent as he thought back on Yi with another chuckle. "No, he was quite polite, if not a little excitable. But he did indeed introduce himself." Which reminded the dark-coated kyresue, "You must be worn out from your trip here. Would you like to sit while we talk? Of course I'd understand if you'd rather just retire to a bath and bed for the night."

"I am tired." she confessed. But she smiled at him warmly, "But sitting and chatting for a while does sound good at the moment."
She followed him to a group of seats near a fireplace. She took off the sling and held the Ka'eo in her arms gently as she checked it quickly. She would have to change the bandage after a bath for the little one.
"I am glad my brother was not too rude." she said tucking the resting Ka'eo into it's swaddle. She rolled her eyes and said, "He's a little bit rude on the outside, but he doesn't mean any harm."
She tucked the little one into the crook of her arm and felt it relax. She sat back in the comfortable chair, relaxing too.
"If I go for a soak soon, I will be happy. Also dinner in my room too! Is the food good here?"

Carmen's eyes looked him over in a cursory way. When he turned to her in that way, her perceptive eyes narrowed in a slightly sly manner. She then walked over to the bed, setting Felix on it. Then, she in a deft move slid onto the bed sitting next to him. Sitting flirtatiously close, she gently and graciously took the soap from him. "Oh, Yi... Does this mean you are hoping to sniff me later? Or... maybe that you pay attention to how I smell?"
She grinned rather mischeviously at him a moment longer before getting up again. She bent down to kiss his cheek. "Well, thanks anyways. That's very kind and thoughtful. I kind of feel a little bad to accept a gift for you without anything to give you in return though."
She stretched as she stood up and moved away. "Yup... and... I think I will go have my bath now.I'd let you come with me if I thought it wouldn't embarrass you too much. Then again, there's nothing wrong with bathing alone either." She took her clothes off there and wrapped up in a towel to head down to where the bath was.

Yi just stared after her with an open mouth. In reality, he didn't think he was breathing after she kissed her cheek, let alone listening to her.
After she left the room he took Akiko's soap and tossed it onto her bed, then donned a towel and followed Carmen to the baths. Unfortunately there were male and female baths, and inside at that.
He grumbled and went to take his own bath.Felix woke when Carmen placed him on the bed, and picked up the soap he and Yi used. He took a small towel for himself, and went with Yi to the baths. He was looking forward to a nice long bath.--------------------------------------------------------- Yi took his time, but was quick about his cleaning. He cleaned Felix with some soap, and swaddled him up in the towel Felix had brought. It was large for the small bunny like animal, but Felix liked being cuddled. Yi smiled at the Pulan as he dried him. As much as they quarreled, Yi and Felix got along well when all was said and done.
With Felix snoozing by the fireplace, and Yi dried off and in a night shirt, Yi ordered stew and hot coco, a treat for a cool fall night. He leaned back into a soft chair by the fire, and started to doze himself.

After some time, she wandered back to the room in a big fluffy robe she had found in the girl's bath. It was a little big on her since it was made for a hume, but she found it to be comfortable. Her hair was all wrapped up in a towel, and she slipped into the room quietly and flopped on the other bed.
She looked at the boys. She watched Yi relax by the fire. She decided she would play nice and not poke fun at him for a bit. "No Akiko yet huh? Maybe I should go see what she's doing. Did they say how long it'd be before our dinner comes?"
She then slid up to the edge of the bed. She was going to ask him if he did want to smell her, but she decided not to do that either. She just unwrapped her hair and started to dry it out. She moved towards the door to see what was to do around the hotel; though she paused to give him a chance to stop her if he were of a mind to do it.

Soal smiled and leaned forward as he sat, curious to know more about the three he would soon be traveling with. "The food is good. I'll miss it while I'm on the road again. Which reminds me, where are you and your brother from? Derya like Carmen?" Watching her care for the Ka'eo with a distant smile he suddenly cocked his head. "What happened to him? Or her? If I may ask."

"Dinner should come soon." Yi said looking at her dry her hair.
He could smell the soap he bought her. He smiled as an idea hit him and he got up and went to his pack. He pulled out the ribbons that he had bought, and went over to her.
"I saw these too and bought some for you." he said holding out the green ribbons to her. He felt shy all of a sudden and said, "I really like your hair."
Very stupid thing to say, he thought, but it was true.

She stopped and closed the door, not leaving after all. She turned around when he came up to her. Seeing the ribbons in his hand, she herself felt a little dumbfounded. The soaps were one thing. That was something practical. They had all been in want of a nice bath, but these ribbons... this was a very personal sort of gift. All her cocky, coy smirking faded away for a while.
She took them graciously for a failure to realize what else she should do just then. "Oh. Thanks. Now, you've gifted me twice." She ran her hands over the ribbons feeling their smooth silky texture. She felt like she should do something for him, but she wasn't sure what to do. She just didn't know him well enough to what kind of things he liked.
Did this mean that the entire time they were in town; he was out doing things for her? His admission that he liked her hair drew out an endearing smile. She then had a very serene smile. She almost felt like she was going to cry because his admission and gifts were like some kind of... silent implication of something he just wasn't saying just yet. These couldn't be just meaningless gestures. Now she really felt like she needed to do something.
At last when not being able to think of anything, she just gave him a hug. It was earnest and heartfelt. Then, she had a small idea. It was in no way a gifting, but it was something. "Hey... would you maybe want to brush my hair and tail out for me? We can just sit on the bed or whatever... if you want?"

"We are from a few miles south of Derya." Akiko said smiling, "Our home is near a village in the forest. Our Hume makes her living with the herbs she can find there."
Akiko looked down at the Ka'eo and smiled, "I think she was attacked by some animal." she chuckled and looked back at him, "She's been resting a lot, so I haven't gotten a chance to ask her."
"Mind I ask where you are from?" Akiko asked him. She liked meeting new people and finding out where they are from. "Were you here for the festival?"

"How rough. I hope she recovers well. I'm sure she will with a woman like you caring for her." He watched the Ka'eo a little longer as he listened. "I'm from Nuha. Its a few days south from here. I came for the festival, but I'm staying a few days extra to avoid the mass crowds leaving." He smiled, softer this time as he spoke next. "A hume huh? What's that like?"

Yi smiled back at her softly as he accepted the hug. "You are welcome. I thought you would like to look more pretty."
"I would be honored to brush out your tail and hair." he said. He went to the bed and sat down, and as she got her brush out and sat down herself, he took her hand and placed a small kiss on it to show his thanks. "Thank you for allowing me to brush your hair."
He smiled as he looked into her eyes. He didn't feel love, no, but it was a pleasant feeling. He hoped he hadn't seemed too forward.
Gah, women! They made him so shy and awkward!

"She seems to be doing well, no infections or side affects that I can see." Akiko said looking at the Ka'eo too, "She will be better after a few more days of rest."
"Oh the festival!" Akiko sighed. "I wish I had been here for that..." she blushed feeling embarrassed that a grown Kyresue would love a festival that much. Llinos her little sister, was much more lively about festivals and celebrations, even if she was an adult! She blushed more and said, "I rather like festivals."
But her ears perked up when he asked about her living with a Hume. She tilted her head and said, "I love my Hume. She treated us with as much love and care as she did her own offspring." She smiled as she remember growing up with her family, "She even taught us how to use the herbs in the forest, and how to make them into things we can use. That is how Yi and I saved a lot of money." she then tilted her head the other way and asked, "Do you have a Hume?"
She then felt her face go red with embarrassment. That question was too privet in her opinion.
"Sorry, you don't need to answer if you don't want to." She said smiling nervously.

Carmen just blinked with more dumb-founded when he kissed her hand. Wait. What? Hmm. "Well... Um. You're welcome." She sat down in front of him with her back to him. She wondered to herself quietly. Had she brought this on? She had flirted with him some a little on the way here, but she had thought it was just a little fun. She hadn't anticipated that it was drawing feelings or behaviors from him that felt a little indicative of something a little different. Well, there had been plenty of times in the wagon and since she could swear his glances or occasional staring at her tail was some kind of... unspoken wish to touch it. Maybe touch her?
She then just sighed a relaxing breath. She did just have a nice bath. She felt clean and refreshed. She felt almost certain that being brushed would be rather soothing as well. If there were one thing she did think strongly to herself. ~Let's just not be too hasty in any of my thoughts, self. Let's just ... kick back and see what comes.~
